That morning, she woke up to the same sound of beeping. The next few days were a blur, she can remember his condition not getting worse but at the same time not getting any better. She knows that Kawaii~Chan tried to visit her the first few, which only ended up getting them both kicked out of the hospital those first few nights. To say she was pissed off was an understatement. With her and Kawaii~Chan living in the same house, she tried her best to avoid her.

She contemplated staying at Aphmau's house for the meanwhile, not wanting to risk her temper but she stayed at the hotel for the time being. She wasn't sure what she was supposed to do now, she went to her job during the daytime, time slowly seeming to slowly pass no matter what she did, then she'd go get some order out, maybe pass by the gym and spend a few hours there, swing by the hospital and do something else. 

The cycle went on for a week and a half until it decided to eventually change. 

The day was anything like any other, she went to work, stopped by the gym for an hour or so, went home to change and take a shower, and stopped by the hospital, and took a seat next to him. The room was filled with deafening silence, but she had gotten used to it, that was until today. She was just sitting there on the chair, phone in her pocket, and she was just twiddling her thumbs waiting for something to change until it did. 

"Hey, Katelyn," The voice was croaky, but they 'hey' was stretched out like always.

"Irene..." She knew that voice, "I get attacked once and you end up looking like a homeless forest hermit with no purpose in life," He sighed and she could pratically feel the proudness radiating off of him because of that comment. She ignored it with an invisible roll of her eyes and got up from her seat with vigor almost leaping towards him to hug him. Carefully, she got and brought him into a hug. "Travis!"

"How are you feeling?" A small smile made its way on her face, he was alright, it was going to be okay, god she never missed that stupid face of his that badly until today. He's stupid grin and smirks that made her heart flutter, or how he was so patient with her even at her roughest and meanest moments, she didn't deserve him at all.

"Mm," He shrugged his shoulders eyes fluttering closed again, she let out a sigh shoulders dropping. He barely stayed awake when he woke up that day but that was to be expected, next time the nurse came around she reminded herself to tell her what happened but that wasn't until much later. 

She hoped things would get better.

"What do you remember Travis?"

"Just... Just the pain, it was like I was on fire..."

"Did you notice anything about who attacked you?"

"Somethin' was wrong, they didn't look human at all,"

"Do you know who it was?"

"Mmmm, no, not really just that I was hanging out with Zane and Garroth, and I shook Zane's hand or somethin' like that, I don't know?... And then I was attacked, and I woke up here,"

"Sorry I can't remember it,"

"Oh, you don't gotta be sorry about that, it's probably best if you don't remember it, at least your okay, that's all that matters. We'll try to find them as soon as possible," The officer gave him a nod, closing their notepad, but then opening real quick. "Zane and Garroth Ro'Meave, right?"  The silver-haired man nodded. 

"We'll contact you in the future if we come across any further leads, for now, try to get some rest," The office writes down what he was told, closes the notepad, and leaves the room leaving the two in silence. Travis spares her a glance.

"Am I going to be okay Kate?" The word Kate felt weird coming out of his mouth, like as if he didn't say something currently but be couldn't be bothered in all honestly. "Why're you asking?"

Travis simply shrugged, but there was a slight bit of pain and worry flickering in his eyes. "What was the damage done? Was it bad, like really really bad? What's gonna happen to me?" She placed a hand on his shoulder with a forced smile. "You'll be fine, just some small injuries, sure, you'll get a few scars but that's it. Nothing is going to happen to you, I'll make sure of it if they wanna attack you again they'll have to go through me,"

But she didn't know if that was going to be true. Was it just some small injuries or was it much more? Would this be the last time this happened or would she be next? The entire context of this situation scared her as much as she hated to admit it. The faith in her and her ability to protect those who she loved was a thin thread, if it came to someone like Aaron she wouldn't doubt in his ability to easily win against a fight against a Meif'wa since he was similar in some ways but she was human. She could easily be broken and was as fragile as glass when it came to the strength of a Meif'wa and Werewolf, there was a slim chance she could even win in a fight against an overpowered, angry person, but she'd try.

"Awww, my knight in shining armor, never thought I'd see the day," Her boyfriend gushed, cupping his hands above his heart with a bright smile that made her heart flutter slightly. No, Kawaii~Chan wasn't going to be the death of her, he was. 

"Well, this probably isn't going to be the last,"

"Ooo! We should totally do a couple costume things," He clapped his hands together as he exclaimed. Despite how much she hated the idea of a couple of costumes, right now, she'd be willing to do anything.

They were talking, catching Travis up on what he missed until the door opened to reveal a pink figure. The pink figure was Kawaii~Chan in a white elegant, sheer puffy blouse that sleeves went down to her wrists, a pastel pink skirt, and black shoes with white socks. A little too formal along with a little too casual at the same time. She looked sad, full of disdain, and something Travis couldn't quite name. Otherwise, the situation is strange at best.

"Katelyn~Sa-"

"Get out,"

"But Kat-"

Rising from her seat with a voice dripping at the seams with poison, she demanded: "I said Get Out."

"'M sorry," The meif'wa looked down at the ground, turning around and leaving the room, quietly closing the door behind him.

"Katelyn?... What was that all about, what did Kawaii~Chan do?"

"It's..." She let out a deep sigh, exasperated with this entire situation. He didn't remember what happened which wasn't so bad, but at the same time, it was. What would happen if he did remember it? How bad would the memory be, how scared of Kawaii~Chan would he be, how worse could this situation even get? "Nothing Travis, we're just having some issues right now and I don't want to see her,"

"You're not lying to me aren't you?"

"Not at all, we just got in a fight yesterday and I don't want to see her right now,"

"What was it about?"

"It was about what happened yesterday, she wanted to come to the hospital with me, I wanted to be alone, and we fought." And that was the cold hard truth, she wasn't lying but at the same time, it wasn't the truth at all.

"You know I wouldn't die on you like that, right?"

"Yeah, but if you did I can assure you I'm dragging you back from where ever you went to kill you myself because you can bet I'd be fucking pissed if that happened."

"I would hope you wouldn't want me dead,"

"Like hell, I would want you dead, what made you think that I'd want you dead?"

"No offense or anything but did you see how you acted back then, you were really horrible and mean like... I know you changed and everything but it wasn't fun,"

"None taken, and yeah, I wasn't a good person back then and I'm sorry, I'm so sorry you had to go through that, yeah I had some anger problems back then and I've gotten better but it wasn't an excuse to take it out on you."

"Thank you for apologizing for how you acted back then, but I can kinda get why you'd be mad at me, some of the things I said weren't really the best of things I could have said. Of course, that doesn't make what you did right either,"

"Yeah... It doesn't but at least we can say we worked it out not like many other couples,"

"Yeah I guess, still gotta work on some things though,"

"But at the same time... It took longer than it usually would for others,"

"Yeah,"

"So," She started stretching out the 'o'. "when do you think you can get out?"

"I dunno, probably soon though,"

"What if when I get out they attack me,"

"As I said, they'll have to get through me,"

"But what if they can?"

"They won't trust me,"

"Alright then," He shrugged. 

Patient like always, she wasn't surprised it's a skill he picked up with having to deal with her sometimes and her temper. "Well, I'm going back to sleep, night," He gave her a soft smile that practically made her melt and his eyes fluttered shut, falling asleep quickly. Katelyn let out a breath that she hadn't know she had been holding, this was fine, this was all going to be fine soon enough. 

Leaning against the wall she let her thoughts wander, the cool surface of the wall felt good against her head, and eventually, she remembered what she was supposed to do. She pulled out her phone exiting out the conversation she was in and into a new one.

zaney: duh he's probably okay im pretty sure the injuries weren't life-threatening

katie: he's fine i just talked to him

gargar: thank IRENE!

katie: but he doesn't remember what happened tho and kawaichan tried to visit us but i kinda told her to fuck off really

well i didnt actually tell her to fuck off but thats the gist of it

zaney: told ya

gargar: wouldnt travis be kinda suspicious?

katie: i told him me and her had a falling out and i dint want to see her

i didnt want to lie to him but it was for the best for now

gargar: yeah the best

zaney: youll have to tell him eventually

katie: later not now

hes already gone through enough im sure he can wait to find out the truth

honestly im not sober enough to deal with any of this

zaney: no drinking for you

if i cant drink you cant drink

gargar: @zaney you just cant drink period

zaney: dont remind me

katie: the last time i got drunk was like

years ago during the beginning of this entire thing with aphmau and aaron leaving but honestly its tempting

this whole thing is so fucked up and its so tempting. even more fucked up then what happened with aph and aaron

gargar: i wouldn't recommend it irene knows what you would look like more drunk

zaney: probably should drink if you have anger issues sorry katelyn :/

gargar: agreed

katie: ill try
