Kai's Pov

Scarlet likes to play rough. She forced the kiss onto me,knocking my feet out under me as I came down with a hard THUD. I hiss in pain as I rub my head and she was quickly on top of me. Scarlet may be younger but she is a bit stronger then me as she pins me down. Its been 5 years since I last saw Scarlet.

Flashback to 5 years ago

It was a sunny day as the warm sun shined down upon the valley. New born pups stretch and sleeps in their mother's arms as the older pups play and laugh. I was just a young female adult and was in my usual spot,looking down at the valley that we once called home. Just below me was the rushing and loud waterfall that then entered into a smooth and quiet lagoon.
Scarlet was already my first mate yet we were not to lay with each other till we come of age(this is usually when they turn into adults). Scarlet was pure,she was kind,loving,she was perfect. I smile as I watched her play with the pups,teaching them how to do this and that. We were safe in our perfect little valley. No hunters,Fresh water,plenty of food and fruits,animals to hunt if needed. It was Home. But...everything changed.

Children's screams still ring in my ears as they were being pulled away from their mother's arms!All of our males were killed for sport or just for fun!Hunters laughing in our faces as they corner us. I yelled for Scarlet,wondering if she was either dead or alive. Yet she was no where to be found. I howled to let everyone who was still alive to run,run as fast as they could into the Forest that we all called "The Lost Forest". We knew the hunters would never follow us in there in fear of becoming Lost then die. I helped everyone escape,my mother,Nita,their current alpha made sure every pup made it in. I looked every where for Scarlet yet no where was she. Then I saw out of the corner of my eye,that light brown fur that quickly disappears into the bushes.

"Scarlet?" I asked as I secretly followed.

Scarlet walked to the edge of the Lagoon and then turned into her human form. She has orange-red hair that went to the center of her back,greenish-yellow eyes that I just loved. I hid behind a tree quickly as I saw a human hunter walk up to her. What I saw next,made me sick to my stomach.

"Nicely down,we got ourselves a nice haul all thanks to you,Angel" the hunter said.

He reaches up with his rough hunter hand and cups Scarlet's soft and smooth neck as he slowly caress it.

"Now,what about that little Mate of your's?Kai is her name?She is only half human. Correct?" He asked.

"Y...yes..."she muttered.

I growled at how easily she was letting him handle her like this. I slowly retrieve an arrow and ready the bow.

"You said you wouldn't hurt anyone!You killed innocent children!All of our Males are dead now!how are we suppose to have children now?!" Yelled Scarlet.

He growled and grabs her jaw/throat almost choking her. She grabs his hand as she squirms from his strength and grip,gasping for air.

"I don't give a flying rat's ass about your males. You done your part so I wouldn't kill you. Now its my turn. " he chuckles as he stares into her scared little eyes that clearly begged for mercy.

He pushed her against a large oak and only half way pulled her clothes off before falling over dead,3 arrows lodge deeply into his back. Soon the life left him,the color of his beady little eyes went away. Scarlet falls to her knees then leans against the tree,tears streaming down her face. She looks up and saw me,yet with another arrow ready to be let go,aim stragight for her. I slowly walk towards her. Her tears were real as so was mine.

"K-Kai,i...I can explain" she got out before chocking on her tears and fear.

"How...how could you?" I asked as I dropped the weapon and rough grabbed her arms and made her stand. I shook her hard,screaming. "How could you!?"

I was pissed and scared and confused. Why would Scarlet sell us out?Why didn't she fight this hunter off?why did she just let him do this to her?

"ANSWER ME GODDAYM IT!" I screamed.

Scarlet begins to cry,trying to explain herself and her actions.

"You sold us out to these...fucking monsters..!our males are dead!innocent children are dead!mothers were taken to be sold. Nita has told everyone to not trust hunters. They hunt us!they hunt us for sport and for fun. Why?why would you do this!I told you what its like to be a human and its not fun!We have urges to kill. So why?" I asked.

"Kai,I'm so so sorry...I-I was scared!He would have killed me!" She replied,grabbing my shoulders for comfort.

I snarl at her and pushes her away.

"He should have killed you. For what you done to us,to me..you were gonna have him kill me werent you?" I snarled.

Suddenly,Nita,my wolf-mother walks up and cups my shoulder.

"M-mom...I..." I studdered then look at Scarlet,"I hate you. I don't ever wanna see you again!"

I turned and run away,turning into the black as night wolf. I scoop up a lost pup and look back at Scarlet and Nita. Tears fall as I could feel my heart breaking into a million pieces then goes join the others in the Lost Forest. Nita glared at Scarlet.

"I dont know what happened,but I over heard its all your fault." Nita growled.

"Y-yes...I'm sorry Nita. I...I am ashamed for what I did. I now regret this decision and I should have let him kill me. Yet,I didn't and became a coward,a selfish coward. I am ready for the punishment. " said Scarlet as she hung her head in shame.

Nita lifts Scarlet's chin,making her look Nita in the eye. Scarlet's eyes had the tint of terrified. Nita snarled and swats at Scarlet,leaving a scar across her beautiful face.

"You are hearby banished. What you have done is murder and treason. If I ever see you again,near the tribe or Kai,I will kill you myself. You will live in Exile in the Lost Forest,Safe from hunters but you will not have the pack to save u. Do I make myself clear?" Asked Nita.

"Yes." Replied Scarlet.
