45) Of Wolfy Time!
Date: December 26th
Time: 4:12pm
Location: Y/n's apartment
Mood: international ARMYs waiting for the subs
<><><>
Bed made, floors swept, refrigerator cleaned out and laundry in the wash. Since arriving home a week earlier than scheduled, Y/n had put herself to work to help the time pass. She would finally get to see Jimin, but only after work. When she asked Hyuna if maybe she could work her magic and heavily pressure the daycare supervisor into letting Jimin out of work early, it hadn't worked for once.
The daycare was already running low on workers due to the holidays so that put her at home waiting on him and wondering when she should throw 'you're a werewolf' in his face. Or if she should bring the subject up at all. If she was wrong it would make her look insane. And if she was right, maybe it would make her insensitive.
Her hand rubbed at the space between her eyes to stave off the incoming headache. "You can't just ask someone if they're a werewolf, Y/n."
Jimin might not have...come out of the woods yet, or so to speak.
But she felt like she had a right to know. This was a person she was becoming more attached to everyday. Someone who she liked far more than she wanted to admit. And if that wasn't a good enough reason, she wanted to know: if Jimin was a werewolf, why were full moons becoming increasingly harder for her to handle?
Since the last full moon she had worked tirelessly to fit werewolves into a commonsensical, scientifically possible area of her brain and had been somewhat successful in the endeavor.
The moon made her think: astronomy. Astronomy made her think of the infinite number of planets in the infinite number of galaxies there were. Life here on earth was life as we know it, but trillions of light years away, life was likely far more evolved than we could imagine. Aliens weren't impossible (in fact were more probable than not) and possibly there existed more than humanely comprehensible.
Then she brought that theory back to earth and compared it, tested it to what was really known and not known.
As much as she hated to acknowledge it, science didn't have the answers to everything. There was no way of knowing what was at the bottom of the ocean. No one could say why we need sleep. Or how bicycles stay upright. It couldn't even explain gravity.
That brought her to: evolution. Evolution was a continuous process throughout generations. If dolphins evolved from four legged animals and birds from dinosaurs, wasn't it theoretically possible for a wolf/human subspecies to develop?
Perhaps her headache was more due to extensive research, as opposed to her Jimin separation. Because research she did, basically writing a thousand page thesis on the subject.
Sarcasm has left the chat. Because she really wrote out a thousand pages worth of notes.
The end result was: Jimin was a werewolf and she (maybe) had her mind wrapped around how that could actually be possible.
The clock ticked closer and her anxiety grew along with it. Should she cook? She didn't know how...was her hair ok? These clothes were frumpy and probably the oldest most worn sweater she owned, changing into something nicer should be a priority.
"Act up you can snatched up-"
Y/n raced for her phone, silently reminding herself to put it back on vibrate.
"Act up you can snatched up, dirty ass nails baby girl you need to-"
"Jimin?" The name on the caller ID surprised her, as she had been informed by Kitty that Jimin had somehow busted his to pieces.
"Hey," his reply sounding hesitant, shy even. She smiled at the thought. They hadn't directly spoken since that last argumentative conversation and the absence of his company hurt. "I'm almost there. I just wanted to warn you..."
Having a feeling he was nearby, she padded over to one of the windows over looking the street and her suspicions were confirmed. Jimin stood outside, phone pressed to his ear and his back to the building.
A giddy smile curled her lips as she watched him. He was so cute. "Warn me about what?"
As she asked, she was already skipping away from the window and out the front door. If he wasn't coming to her, then she would go to him.
"I really missed you a lot." He stressed over a low whine and she had to stifle a giggle. "That means I'm going to hug you for a long time and not let you go and keep you prisoner for a while."
"Should I order food?" She used one hand to press mute while the elevator doors dinged open.
"What? Hang on, acknowledge what I said first."
Once the doors were closed she turned the speaker back on to answer. "I did. If I'm going to be your prisoner I don't want to be hungry. What are you in the mood for?"
"The only thing I want my mouth on is you."
The phone clattered to the elevator floor, along with her resolve. Tingles spread throughout her body and exploded on her face, but now she contemplated on whether she wanted to hide or keep going.
"Wait—! That came off wrong! I meant the kisses-" his nervous chuckles were loud in the small space of the elevator. "You said I could have one thousand."
As she grabbed up the cell from the floor, a hand slipped over her eyes to block out the world. It worked fair enough. "I said one hundred." It didn't 'come off wrong' at all and she knew it. Jimin was a natural flirt and sometimes forgot to curb that instinct.
Instead of pouting like she had expected him to, he hummed in agreement. "I suppose I deserve that for the way I acted. Negative nine hundred kisses as punishment. Anyway, I'm here so..."
His words trailed off as the elevator doors opened and they came to face to face. There she caught sight of a brief spot of surprise before a fierce longing and near animalistic need darkened his eyes. Exactly one nano second passed before they were each other's arms and embracing like they'd been apart for years. The intensity of it might have scared her if this insatiable urge for him hadn't bloomed right then. But it had and it demanded that she give her attention and affection to him completely, regardless of who might be passing by or glancing their way.
For that moment in time she simply didn't care if anyone observed them or what they thought. She didn't care.
This was her first relationship so everything was new. But surely this wasn't common to feel so tenaciously attached to someone you'd met mere months ago. Maybe it was a spike in hormones that told her to hug him back just as tightly and to stand on his feet as he guided the both of them back into the elevator. Did the term, 'I like you' coincide with the feelings they were sharing now? Because what she felt for Jimin didn't seem to fit into such a small phrase.
Which was crazy when considering the fact that they hadn't been dating, or even known each other for long. And frightening if she thought about it. If he decided to leave now she might not survive it, but she was at the point of no return. There was no going back, only forwards. No matter where this took them.

6:32pm
Jimin hadn't been kidding about the whole holding her prisoner bit. It wasn't that he wouldn't let her out of his sight, it was more like he wouldn't let her out of his arms.
Which, she had to admit, had been nice for a while. Cuddled up with her boyfriend on the couch and soaking each other in. But then, as entertained as Jimin obviously was by smelling her for hours, she didn't have that same enthusiasm. What she did have was a mental notebook that she wrote this down on to inspect more later.
Number of evidence that proved Jimin was a werewolf: approximately 1 billion.
"I'm late, but I think I should apologize." He mumbled and tightened his hug, as if the reminder of their fight would cause her to jump up a run.
"No, it's ok. I understand you were frustrated. I was too." Admittedly she had been offended at the tone he'd taken but could understand where he was coming from. No talking to one another for a week and when they finally got the chance, no one would shut up to let them.
"Even if you understand that doesn't mean it's ok. So: I'm sorry. And not to sound shameless or anything, but when do I get my present?"
Though he tried not to sound like it, the man was shameless. Honestly she was surprised he had gone this long without asking for it. But he could wait a little longer.
"Where's mine?"
A frown curved his mouth downwards. "I don't have it with me...but I..." he paused, longer than was considered normal, drawing a curious stare from her. "But I do...have a surprise for you."
The sudden turn in his mood and the general atmosphere made her tense up. Why did he look like that? So...on edge?
"A...big surprise?" She asked for lack of anything better to say. The way his arms released her from their embrace and the nervous expression that had taken residence on his face scared her.
"Definitely a big surprise." His hair was tousled when his hand ran through it. "But you'll like it. I think."
"Okay..."
The mood took another hit when he extricated himself from all contact and moved further away down the couch. The tightness in his shoulders, the hard set of his jaw, the way he refused to meet her eyes. Her mind immediately jumped to the worst scenario—he was breaking up with her. But in the next second he stood up and turned to regard her with the most serious expression she'd ever witnessed from him.
"I'll get it ready in your room. Give me five minutes then come in. Don't bother knocking because," his voice choked up as he stopped himself just in time to turn it into a cough. "Just come in. Five minutes. Ok?"
At her hesitant nod he took in a deep breath that he blew out slowly. It was now or never.
It's Wolfy time!
How could he be so excited about this? That was what Jimin wanted to know. Wolfy wasn't anxious or scared at all about coming out to Y/n. He was giddy at the thought. All day that's all Jimin had heard. Pushes to hurry up and finish work. Hurry up and get to Y/n's house. Hurry up and quit cuddling so he could get a turn. But Jimin wasn't so sure it was going to be that easy.
Shut your coward self up and let's get naked.
Closing Y/n's bedroom door behind him, he ignored him in favor of taking a look around for a moment. He'd only been in here once before and that was to save her from a spider.
There was a large cork board on one wall that seemed to be the designated area for drawings from Rosie and a few from Baek Hyeon. The sight reminded him to tell Y/n about how much the little boy missed her. Every day she had been out of work, he'd only had one thing to say to the adults and it was always posed as a question: "Yoo Yoo?"
Thrown across the top of a white dresser was the unicorn hoodie she'd been wearing the first time he'd visited (stalked) her at home. The room was unremarkable and without much character, aside from the cork board and the plants resting on a shelf under the window that filled the space with a pleasant smell.
You've been goofing off for two minutes now. Naked time!
Reluctantly he began to remove different articles of clothing. He didn't want to do this. But it had to be done. If all went well, the only thing he would have to apologize for was keeping this secret from her. Wildly he wondered he could keep up this ruse. Maybe there was some way he could hide it from her forever?
I don't have time for you to stop being stupid. We have two minutes left, hurry uuuup!!
Lying forever wasn't an option. He wanted her to know that she was his soul mate, he wanted to show her Wolfy, he wanted to mark her and have her live with the pack. The truth was the only option.
With his anxiety levels spiking higher and higher every second, he stripped down to nothing and tried out different breathing exercises to calm himself. One minute to go and he relaxed and gave in to Wolfy's persistence, granting him permission to shift.
And nothing happened.
'Um, hello-'
I CAN'T DO IT! WHAT IF SHE HATES ME? WHAT IF MY COLOR DOESN'T PLEASE HER? WHAT IF SHE LAUGHS AT MY TAIL?
'Calm down-'
DON'T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN! SHES GOING TO HATE US FOR LYING TO HER!
'We need to shift-'
FORGET IT! I CANT DO IT! ABORT! ABORT!!!!!
'Please just-'
The door opened. Everyone stood stock-still, the calm before the storm settling in with a vengeance.
Y/n stared at her boyfriend. Her very naked boyfriend. In her bedroom. Here to give her a big surprise. Unbidden, her eyes drifted to the space between his legs.
Big surprise, indeed.
Because if there was one thing she was absolutely sure of now, it was that there was nothing tiny about Jimin.
