41) Of Good Boy Jimin

Date: December 11th
Time: 6:00pm
Location: Namjoon's house
Mood: Optimistically anxious
<><><>

The state and sheer size of Namjoon's house amazed her, as all the Yoon family had ever lived in was affordable, single family apartment buildings. The hardwood flooring and high ceilings were nice, but after a moment she decided (and feeling a bit cheesy for thinking so) that her own home was much preferable because that's where her family was. And automatically she knew that this was exactly how Jimin must be feeling now. That he was coming back home. To family.

And he had been right. His friends were very welcoming. However, he had failed to mention how attractive they all were. And attractive people scared her. But there wasn't anything scary about these people. However, they were a bit...weird.

A ridiculously handsome man wearing a white hoodie with a giant, yellow duck on it approached with open arms as if to hug her, but was kicked away by a suddenly aggressive Jimin who warned with a simple, "Don't touch her."

If his friends were weird, Jimin was the weirdest of all. When they'd stepped into Namjoon's home he had turned into a growling, irritable man who would snap at anyone coming too near. When she'd asked him to stay close, she hadn't meant for this.

Quietly she tugged on his arm and linked their hands together, thumb gently grazing over his knuckles. Instantly he relaxed and sent her a sheepish smile.

"Gotcha right by the balls, huh?"

They looked to find the mint-haired regular, except now the green was gone to replaced by a pearly white. If the color change was supposed to make him look angelic it wasn't working—his face held an evil smirk as his eyes locked on Jimin.

"Yoongi-hyung." he snarled with more pointless anger.

"Jimin." He answered back in a way like two enemies in an anime might greet one another.

"Y/n." Jin said in the same voice and then laughed at his own attempted joke. "We've spoken but you've never had the pleasure of seeing me. But your chance is here at last," he put his chin between his thumb and forefinger, "say hello to the most gorgeous sight you'll ever see."

She was glad for the loud protests from the other two guys. It kept anyone from seeing how her jaw fell to the floor as she looked at Seokjin's face. Being that handsome should be illegal. Thankfully she had collected herself by the time anyone could notice but her pulse still raced in her ears. How was she going to be able to talk to him?? Standing in the same room made her feel like an ugly troll.

Yoongi's eyes fell to her and she blushed, something that caused Jimin's jaw to tick in annoyance. "Hey."

"H-hi."

"OK!" Jimin yelled and shuffled her further into the wall away from his friend. "That's enough conversation between you two."

The skin of her palm tingled as she rubbed their hands together. Again he calmed down and backed them up to their original positions. Another apologetic grin was in place for her.

"Yup, RIGHT by the balls."

Until Yoongi spoke again and his face dropped into a scowl.

"But did you see my face?" Jin piped up.

"H-he-hello." Unable to look anyone in the eye, she focused on on the floor as she bowed in greeting. "I'm Y-Yoon Y/n. I-it-it's nice to meet y-you." A weight of disappointment settled in her chest at the failed attempt to not be awkward. Two minutes in and they already found out how bad at this she was.

"I'm happy to finally meet you, Y/n." Jin replied warmly, paying no heed to her stuttering, blushing mess. "Jimin never shuts up about you. Let's see," he held up a hand and began listing things while counting with his fingers. "You're a red marshmallow. Your favorite color is yellow, you like tomatoes, true crime, and rap music. You have two siblings and you are, according to Jimin, the cutest thing in the whole world."

Now it was Jimin's turn to blush. "You didn't have to tell her all that..."

She couldn't help the smile that broke out. Flattered that her boyfriend really liked her as much as he said he did.

"Also that you're vegetarian." Jin smiled down at her, and though she wasn't able to meet his eyes she returned it. "I've never cooked a vegetarian meal before so I hope it's good."

She frowned in confusion. He made a meal just for her? Why? In her experience most people did not appreciate a meal without dead animals on their plate.

The arrival of Namjoon's girlfriend saved her (once again) from conversation. With a smile and hug, she was greeted like an old friend. Awkwardly she returned the embrace, this made evident when she had no idea what to do with her hands and ended up weirdly knocking them into the other woman's ribs before she dropped them to her sides in embarrassment.

"Oh shut up, Jimin." Namjoon's mate rolled her eyes at Jimin's angry huff over anyone touching his girl, deciding instead to ignore him and pull Y/n along with her into the living room.

Y/n barely stopped herself from glancing back at her boyfriend like a scared baby being taken away by strangers.

So together—a socially awkward Y/n being carted away, a nervous Jimin anxious after being separated from his mate, Jin, who just wanted to eat, Yoongi (laughing sinisterly), and Wolfy, who was feeling wonderfully today, all went into the living room.

As Yoongi snorted loudly, Jimin immediately froze in his steps at seeing the enormous framed photo they had placed above the mantle without his knowledge.

A wide-eyed Y/n blinked up at the picture of her boyfriend. Hands on his hips and a half smile on his face, he looked like a pure hearted, hardworking middle class man. Or something.

"Aww," she sighed, hearts might as well as been coming out of her eyes. "That's so cuuuute..."

Gone was the murderous intent and on was a bright grin, all signs of previously incoming violence towards his pack mates disappeared as Jimin shyly punched Jin on the arm.

"Yah, why are you hitting me?" Jin scoffed. "She's the one who said it!"

"I told you we should have put up the other one." Namjoon grumbled as way of greeting while Taehyung and Jungkook giggled on the couch.

"What other one?!?" Yelling in alarm, Jimin jumped forward, ready to shield Y/n's eyes.

Too late.

"This one!"

Before he could stop it, a picture taken in middle school of a very chubby cheeked Jimin sporting a SnapBack and copious amounts of eyeliner was proudly shown to his mate. Mostly to save him from any more embarrassment, she tried not to react but a giggle escaped anyway. Somewhere behind them Jimin was grappling with a cackling Yoongi, but she couldn't pay attention to that because Kitty had set her on the couch was shoving cats into her lap.

She wasn't about to complain. They were all adorable! And didn't seem to mind being piled on top of one another in this limited space.

"Here's Princess Jingle bell, Chim Chim, Cat, Sparky, Bunny, and Dodo. Lil Meow Meow moved out with Yoongi so she isn't here anymore. This one is Jimin's."

As she pointed out Chim Chim, the cat flopped over onto her back on the cushion between them as if to show off.

Cautiously Y/n offered a hand for her to sniff and was rewarded with several head butts from the other felines taking occupancy on her lap.

"Jimin said you love animals so I figure throwing cats at you seemed like a good plan."

"I do." she giggled. "Th-thank you."

There had to be some way to take the conversation further than that but all words and manner of speech magically evaporated from her mind at the moment. The nervous twisting in her belly, however, refused to leave. For a frightening moment she thought that maybe Jimin had left her to her own devices until a comforting hand rested on her shoulder from behind. All fears were soothed until they were a small rumbling in the background. She didn't have to check to make sure it was him. Only Jimin's touch could assure her that she was safe. And he was right where he had promised he would be.

"We've met once before." Taehyung sat on the empty spot beside them. Scooping up Cat, he placed his 'creatively' named pet in his lap and stroked her ears.

"Y-Yes." She agreed but couldn't possibly look him in the face. He was almost as beautiful as Jin. How was she to respond to his statement anyway? The last time they'd met, Jimin had been high on whatever drugs the hospital had given him and had attacked his friend on sight. For some reason. And bringing that up didn't seem appropriate.

"Hyung!" Jungkook came bounding across the room to Jimin, his hands clutching a notebook. "Can you check my homework?"

"Sure, la-"

"Now."

"But-"

"Please?"

A deep sigh followed the iNnOcEnT doe eyes from his dongsaeng that they were all powerless to resist.

Jimin's attention diverted, Taehyung covertly slid an envelope into Y/n's hand while whispering, "Keep it secret. Keep it safe."

Curious and weirded out, she moved to open it but both Taehyung and Kitty motioned wildly for her to put it away. Without question she slid it into her back pocket for safe keeping. No one noticed Namjoon collapsing behind the couch in silent laughter.

By the time Jimin was able to bring his attention back to his mate and friends they were all giggling on the couch while bent over a photo album. Naturally one that contained the most embarrassing memories of his life.

Taehyung was closer than he liked, his shoulder touching Y/n's as they bent over the book together.

"And here's Jimin in some assless chaps."

"Oh! Speaking of," Jin had joined in on the fun and reached over their shoulders to point at something. "Here's the couch he busted with his ass."

Y/n exploded into giggles at the sight of a sofa broken clean in half, next to which stood a grumpy teenage Jimin. The man in question hollered about how old the couch supposedly was and that there were other contributing factors to it's destruction. Next was a whole assortment of unflatteringly angled photos taken at different times in his life. Yoongi took credit for the assortment and Jimin griped about how this collage was the only Christmas present this hyung had gifted him in the last three years (Apart from that one handshake Yoongi had so generously granted him).

"There's something you need to know, Y/n." When Jin's hand clapped down on his shoulder and his tone reverted to a solemn one, Jimin waited with trepidation over whatever would come out of his hyung's mouth. "Never. Ever let Jimin sit on you."

Y/n blushed fiercely and tried to find something else to settle on besides either of the two men.

"His butt...it is the fourth horseman of the apocalypse. Strong. Virile. Devastating."

No one dared to disagree.

Absently, Hoseok rubbed at his inner forearm as he remembered when Jimin had accidentally sat on his arm and the hairline fracture he had suffered as a result.

Yoongi shivered at the memory of what could have happened to his keyboard.

Internally Taehyung wept for his deceased favorite couch.

At the same time, Kitty and Jungkook covertly checked Jimin's backside out. The latter's hands itched to go over and just...squeeze it. But Hoseok-hyung had ordered them to be 'normal' for Jimin's mate. Or as normal as they could be. So the cheek squeezing would have to wait for later.

Namjoon was an atheist. He didn't believe in the super worldly powers of Jimin's ass. But sometimes...he wondered...

"Never thought I'd say this, but can we talk about something other than Jimin's butt?" Kitty drawled.

"Yes!" Jimin tried.

"No!" Jin's squeaking laughter made an appearance and he tried to keep speaking through it, though it was difficult. "First I need to tell her about this cute little mole he has-"

"TOO MUCH!"

From there they went on to supper, bibimbap free of meat. Although Y/n had worried and half expected someone to complain of a meal that was probably out of their norm, no one said a thing about it. Not that they were silent by any means. There was a steady stream of conversation throughout the meal and none of it entailed forcing her into them, which not only made her comfortable but was also quite entertaining.

Jin, obviously the parent of the group as Jimin had described him, inquired the youngest about his latest report card and did not look very approving of his grades. Said young man was busy diverting his attention from that by impersonating Namjoon instead, who tried to look insulted.

Taehyung and Hoseok were content on focusing on eating rather than talking but Jimin and Yoongi bickered like an old married couple.

"Look at you with your grandpa hair." Yoongi randomly threw out around spoonfuls of food.

Jimin's hair was blond, though the roots were in need of a touch up. "My grandpa hair? Yours is white! And you're one to talk Mr, 'I don't want to go see a movie after 5pm because I won't make it home before bedtime' Min."

"It was a midnight showing, you moron. That's hardly the same thing."

"It's exactly the same thing."

"Shut-up."

"No, you."

"Pabo."

"Grandpa."

"Pabo grandpa."

"Ugly."

"Short."

Jimin's eyes narrowed to slits. "You. Bastard."

His mate had said she wanted to meet him! Maybe Jimin wasn't super happy, but Wolfy was having a great time.

"Don't insult short people!" Jimin began to raise his voice. "Y/n's shorter than I am."

Completely unbothered, Yoongi didn't spare him a glance. "But at least she's cute. You're just ugly."

"Don't call her cute! She'll get-" he glanced to his mate to find her lost in her own food bubble and unaware of the world around her, as was her custom during meals. "So cute..." he whispered.

Yoongi gagged.
