ABC

So, after doing some research, Americans do, in fact, have a version of this thing. They call it the ABC handshake and I have no idea what are they doing with it.

Either way, our school, and I'm pretty sure every other Chinese government school in Malaysia, has this thing we call ABC and I can only describe it as a secret handshake. Except, it's not really a secret handshake cause every kid in the school knows how to do it. I guess it's not really a handshake, but a ridiculously long and impractical addition to a game of rock scissors paper.

Either way, I couldn't think of a way to describe the rules and the phrasing so I googled it up and surprisingly found the version my school does

I don't think I can translate this without it sounding odd but here we go

"A B C, we go up, we go down, we go back, front, back, we one two three, we four five six, we seven eight nine, we ten good friends, rooster, hen, chick, kepoji (busybody), let's see who marries a mangali (some slang for Indian, I think?)"

Yeah don't ask, our childhood was weird. Actually, I was pleasantly surprised to know that a good amount of kids in my secondary school knows this game too.

Actually, my cousins from Penang seem to know this game too, but with different phrasing. Maybe they have a different version than us KL kids? Wait, how do these things spread around anyways????
