*28* Truth or dare?
First could only helplessly watch his brother suffer. He showed up here recently in the company of Khaotung. He only had time to see Pond and Phuwin, with the help of Off, lead Fourth out of the infirmary.
First thought back to the events of only a week ago. He couldn't believe it had only been a week, those events seemed centuries away, and it didn't seem like they were the ones who lived through it. It seemed to him that it wasn't him who was watching how Gemini tried to flirt with Fourth somewhat clumsily, that it wasn't him who advised his brother to talk honestly with Norawit, that it wasn't them who put a small, a ginger cat surreptitiously taken from the Non-Magical world that it wasn't Gem and Fourth who had recently broken the glass in the kitchen window while they were playing soccer in their free time. He remembered that in the Thought Cabinet, there was a Pensieve, something that had been given to them many years ago by Harry Potter himself. In two of the many similar small glass vials, there were two special memories, hidden there at the request of one of the owners.

One evening, after all activities were finished and after taking showers, the boys gathered in NuNew's room, which he distributed to everyone with a glass of alcohol. There were snacks on the desk, and the music was not very loud and calm. First, using a newly learned spell, magically removed all the furniture, making the room suddenly seem much larger to them.
“We're going to play truth or dare,” Cooper ordered excitedly. He had long thought about finding a way to question his new colleagues about things he wouldn't normally dare ask. He looked around at the faces in the gathering and quickly realized that not everyone was thrilled with the idea, and NuNew looked particularly nervous, already drinking his second glass of whiskey.
Dressed in pajamas, they brought along blankets and pillows, making NuNew's apartment even more colorful than usual. Kaownah dimmed the lights, leaving only small orange and yellow lamps, which created a nice, pleasant, warm atmosphere. Khaotung rested his head on First's shoulder. Fourth, just in case, sat directly across from Gemini, trying to stay far enough away from New. Between Fourth and New there were also Phuwin with Pond and Joong with Dunk. Only Fluke refused to participate in the game, claiming that he was tired. Next to Gemini sat Gun Atthaphan and his almost inseparable companion, Off Jumpol. It was no secret that Off and Gun loved all kinds of parties and fun, and if they could bring their alcohol there, they never turned down such invitations.
They sat around a magical crystal ball that sparkled with different colors of the rainbow and that was supposed to choose the next person to complete a task or answer a question asked by another participant.
Gemini had been involved in a similar game once before, only then the Non-Magicals used an ordinary, empty bottle to draw players. Curious, he asked where the idea for this came from?
“Oh, from the Non-Magical. You have to admit that sometimes they can come up with something brilliant” Gun smiled at him. “You'll see how much fun it is.”
“Who's starting?” Cooper asked.
“I think that someone who has been in our department for a long time should start, to show our new students what it's all about. How about it be Joong?” Khaotung suggested. He had an evil plan in his head, which he was going to implement at the earliest opportunity. He also managed to come up with tasks for First, NuNew and Fourth. Something different for everyone.
As Cooper explained to them, the party was meant to break the ice between them and strengthen their bonds, and the alcohol present was there to help those who were a little lacking in courage. Gemini wasn't thrilled about this. Alcohol? He didn't like it, but he didn't want to stand out, so he dutifully drank his drink.
“The Knights of the Light may lack courage?” Fourth, not sober anymore, was surprised, on whom alcohol acted very quickly. He rarely drank it, remembering that he had a weak head, but now it was hard to refuse. More than once he heard from his friends that his good heart and inability to say no were his biggest flaw.
“Of course. We have souls and brains, my dear, it is normal that sometimes we lack courage in the face of something terrible. We are not as fearless as we might think, we just put our duty above our fear and that is how we overcome it.”
Joong's explanations did not satisfy him, but Cooper, demanding to start the game, did not allow him to ask any more questions.
“Magic ball, I'm asking you today to point me to the one who will ask Joong a question or task.” The ball flickered, colors began to dance on the walls and floor, the music stopped and only a sound like the sound of the sea was heard before a woman's calm voice spoke one nickname, as if the ball knew that this boy already had a task for Joong .
“Khaotung.”
Khaotung smiled slyly, but Joong didn't notice the twinkle in his eye, he was too focused on admiring Dunk's funny expressions. Only when Gem elbowed him in the knee did he realize that the person who was to challenge him had already been chosen.
“Okay, Joong, friend, what do you choose, a question or a task?”
“Ask me a question.”
“Oh no... You're killjoy.” Khaotung pouted and First nudged him in the side with his elbow. “Okay, let me ask you a question. You and Phuwin, what do you have in common?”
Gemini opened his eyes wide thinking he had misheard. He wasn't the only one who reacted this way. Everyone stared at Khaotung in amazement, waiting for him to explain.
“Me and Phuwin?”Joong Archen made sure.
“Yes. You and Phuwin. I saw you holding hands in the park yesterday.”
“But we weren't there,” Phuwin hurriedly replied, and Joong and Dunk backed him up. “You must have seen someone else like us, but it wasn't us. Me, Dunk and Joong practiced late in the training room, we were seen by the boss, P'Zee, and the surveillance footage can also prove it.”
“Okay, I give up. next person.”
Joong placed his hands on the ball the same way Cooper did before and the ball chose Gemini for him. It has long been known that Joong and Gemini do not like each other very much and it was also felt this time. First thought that Archen had just acted disgustingly and rudely in choosing a task for Norawit, and his indignation increased as he watched his brother's face as Norawit carried out the task given to him.
“You are to bite Pond's neck. Do you have courage?”
Gemini felt himself blushing. Pond was the boyfriend of his older brother, Phuwin, and treated him somewhat as a friend, although he was never close to him. He wondered if he should do it. He cast a pleading look in Phuwin's direction, hoping to somehow hinder him from doing so, but Phu looked like he was having a great time. Gem thought that if he were Phu, he wouldn't feel so calm and comfortable hearing that someone else is about to bite his own boyfriend's neck. No, that would be too much for Gemini, but his brother showed no trace of jealousy.
“Come on,” Phuwin encouraged him. “Consider it a special honor in my life, because I wouldn't let anyone else do it, but you're my brother, so I trust you won't take Pond from me.”
Like it or not, Gem had to complete the task.
Reluctantly, he got up from his seat, walked over to Pond, and with obvious reluctance leaned over him, intending only to pretend to be biting him, in fact he wasn't even going to get too close to Naravit.
“Bite him, bite him, bite him” Almost everyone except Fourth and First started chanting. Gemini saw the displeasure on Nattawat's face out of the corner of his eye, but he had no time or opportunity to think about it.
He just touched his lips lightly to the skin of Pond's neck and immediately pulled away.
“You haven't done your job. You didn't bite him” Judged Joong, who carefully watched everything.
“Huh?!”
“Ah, you don't want to do that with your lover, do you? Are you afraid nong Fourth will misunderstand something?”
Gemini turned to face the door to hide his already red cheeks. He didn't know what to do. He didn't want to openly admit his feelings towards Nattawat, but at the same time he couldn't deny it, knowing that if he did, it would be harder for him to convince Fourth of his sincerity later on. He was angry with Joong, he had to admit that Archen had led him to a dead end. He clenched both hands into fists. He wanted to punch Archen, wipe his sly smirk off his face.
He wasn't the only one who was annoyed by Joong's behavior. Dunk grabbed his boyfriend's arm so hard that he yelped in pain. Fourth couldn't stand it. He got up, aimed a strong blow straight at Joong's face, wiping a cunning smirk from it.
“You deserved that” Dunk hissed, pissed at his boyfriend. He was ashamed of him.
“But I just wanted to help them, provoke him to confess his feelings so they could finally be together. See, the fact that Fourth hit me means I'm right, it's not a one-sided feeling.”Joong explained softly, holding his bleeding nose with his hand.
“Well, then you chose a fatal method” Dunk also answered him in a whisper. “You could have told me what you were planning or we would have done it. You're an idiot, you know?”
“I know. And I'm sorry.”
“Okay, calm down guys, don't fight here, it's just for fun, tomorrow you'll forget about it. Come on, next person,” Cooper called, pouring alcohol into the now empty glasses. “Nong Gemini, put your hands on the ball and say the formula, and it will show you the person who is to perform the task you think of him or answer the question you ask him.”
Gem smiled gratefully at him. He returned to his seat and did as he was told. The ball drew NuNew for him. Gemi, not really realizing what he was doing and why, after New chose the question, asked.
“You love P'Zee, don't you?”
NuNew didn't reply. He reached for his glass of alcohol and drank it all at once. Fourth felt as if someone had hit him in the stomach with a blunt object. He didn't understand it. If New loved Zee, why was he with him? Why was he cheating on him?
Fourth was lost in thought when it was his turn.
“Fourth, do you prefer a question or a dare?” Kaownah asked him.
“What?”
“Your turn. I asked, do you prefer a question or a challenge?”
“A challenge,” he replied quickly. He didn't lack courage, and the drunk % was already starting to work harder and harder.
“Kiss Gemini on the lips for a minute.” Kaownah wasn't going to be mean, and everyone at the Institute knew Gemini's story, and so did he. He guessed that this was what Norawit wanted, and he intended to help him achieve it.
Fourth didn't think about it, Gemini's mouth had tempted him from the start. He walked over to him, crouched down beside him, and put his hands over Norawit's head. The hair of the taller one was really soft, and he smelled amazing himself. Fourth looked into his eyes, searching for any sign to back off, but saw nothing.
When Gemini heard what a challenge Kaownah had given Fourth, he froze. He didn't want their first kiss to be just a game, just a challenge, he wanted it to be real and from the heart, representing their real feelings. The speed with which Fourth took to the task led him to believe that the boy really wanted it too.
“I'll kiss you now, tell me if you want to back off,” Fourth said, moving his gaze from Gemini's eyes to his mouth.
“Do it,” he asked in an oddly low voice. His heart pumped blood much faster than it should, his cheeks burned and his shoulders trembled slightly. He had dreamed of this moment for three years, imagined it in all sorts of ways, expected Fourth to be great at it and himself hopeless, but when it finally happened, it was nothing like what he had imagined.
He closed his eyes and let himself savor the moment. The feeling was amazing. Fourth first only touched his lips lightly to his lips, then deepened the kiss.
Everything disappeared, the whole universe disappeared, the people around them disappeared, there was only them, only their mouth and hands. They became two beings joined together in some magical act. Fourth's lips were so soft, as if they were begging to never stop kissing them. They lost control of their hands, which wandered somewhere under their pajama shirts, occasionally squeezing their fingers over bare skin.
More.
Gemini wanted more and felt Fourth wanted it too. He brushed his tongue against Nattawat's lower lip, asking for access inside his mouth. It took a while as they battled each other for dominance, but Gem quickly gave up and let Fourth do whatever came to his mind. He understood that for him he would always give in, always give in to him. He was ready for anything for him.
The moment, the magic we're part of
Please, never leave me
With you by my side
I'm not scared of anything
You make my knees weak
Please, don't leave me
Hold me tight right in front of all our friends
I want to be yours
Yours forever
Just to hear your heartbeat
And your beautiful voice
Kiss me now
Kiss me before it's too late
Before the world will collapse
You're my shining star
The breath of fresh air
I don't want to say goodbye
It's too hard
If you need a heart, I'll give you mine
'Cause you're all I always dreamed about
Make my soul dance, dance with you
Your kiss, your lips, your hands is all I need now
Please, hold on, I still want you
This was like a song suddenly playing in Fourth's heart and First understood it just when he looked at his brother, kissing Norawit with all the desire and love, with all the longing he was holding back inside his own soul.
Suddenly someone pushed them away. Someone from the outside.
“Ahem boys, we're here too.” Joong was again the one who brutally interrupted them. Gemini looked at him dazedly, as if he didn't quite understand what had just happened.
“I think we should get back to playing,” Cooper suggested again.
* * *
First thought of what had happened then, and of his own brother's strange request.
“Could you make us forget about that kiss? Erase these memories from our memory?”
“What? Why? Don't you love him?”
“Don't ask me that, I can't answer you today. Please just help us.”
First smiled then. He knew a spell that could help, sometimes it was used to erase a memory from the memory of the Non-Magical so they wouldn't reveal their existence to others. And now, as his brother cried in his arms, he wished he had agreed to it, that he had erased such an important memory. However, bringing it back in this situation would just be too cruel. All he could do was comfort Fourth. He felt their hearts breaking. He knew that Fourth's world just ended and now he started to be afraid what will happen next? What if Fourth demands revenge? Is it possible for someone with such a good and just heart to turn to the dark side after losing a loved one and become a demon himself, a part of the Darkness? First had heard many similar stories and knew that now he had to watch over his brother and do for him everything Fourth had done for him over the years.
It's time to repay the debt you owe to your little brother.
* * *
Gemini felt that he was getting cold. An icy shiver ran down his spine. He was getting weaker and weaker, yet he heard Fourth clearly, saw his tears, felt his helplessness and fear. Only then did he understand the true power of the twin soul bond between them: if one of them felt something very strongly, the other felt exactly the same. Gemini wanted to cry too, he wanted to be angry at the cruel fate that made his beloved suffer like this.
But there was nothing he could do.
His body was stripped of power, he lost his breath, and everything was swallowed up in darkness.
Gone was Fourth, gone were the warm, friendly arms he most associated with the word home, gone was the corridor of the Institute in Bangkok, gone was Pond and Phuwin. For a moment he didn't know where he was. He felt no pain, though he expected it. He no longer felt hot or cold, his closed eyelids slowly opened, letting into his mind an image of a strange world he had no idea existed, and he looked around slowly and curiously.
The space he was in was unlike anything he had ever known. There was only one marble bench with someone sitting on it. She looked hard and uncomfortable. Behind it, you could see the rails of a train, but there was nothing that looked like a station nearby. At first he heard no sounds, but gradually his ears became accustomed to the noise. He was surprised to hear his own voice clearly singing the song, which had the first words of the chorus in English, "Love, love, I need somebody to love," followed by a Thai version interspersed with English.
“What is it?!” He thought in amazement, brushing his hair with his hand. He did it completely unconsciously.
He rose from what appeared to be a white tile floor filled with sparkling glitter that reflected the sun's rays, and froze in place. He didn't know where he could go. He was surrounded by infinite whiteness and fog, from behind which emerged only the dark outlines of some unknown buildings, whose origin and purpose he could not determine.
The man who had been sitting on the only bench approached him. Gemini saw that his body was covered with the same runes as his friends from the Knights of the Light squad. He smiled warmly at the boy. Gemi noticed that she had light brown eyes, cute dimples, and otherwise eerily resembled one of the students of the Academy of the Knights of the Light, Nanon Korapat. The one whose body was found near the bar where he worked.
“Nanon? Is that you?”
“Hi Gemini. I'd say it's nice to see you again, but under the circumstances, I don't think it's very nice.” He didn't know that Nanon's special feature was that he could relieve any kind of pain with just a touch.
“W-where am I?” He asked. Another thing surprised him. Even here, in this strange place, he did not get rid of his perfectly natural trait, which was stuttering. He stroked his hair nervously again.
“This is the Hall of Death. Here come those of us who have just died but are still waiting for our final Destiny.”
“Huh? Did I died?”
“What do you think?”
Gemini looked at his hands in panic.
Where there used to be wounds and scars from training and various accidents he had experienced throughout his unbearably short life, the skin turned out to be smooth and healthy, there was nothing, the scars and wounds were gone, including the one from the previous evening. He pinched his cheek, but felt no pain.
“Oh, it looks like you're right, P'Nanon. Now what?” he asked, and immediately remembered the grieving Fourth. Damn! He had to somehow let him know that death wasn't so scary and comfort him, make him not worry.
Nanon seemed to read his mind.
“Relax, you are a unique hybrid, although you probably don't realize it yet. You can die an infinite number of times, but until you fulfill your Destiny, you will not truly die. You'll be back in your body in 24 hours, and if you don't want Fourth to worry, go talk to him.
“Can I?
“Yes, of course. Have you forgotten that there are many more layers to the world than mundanes realize? After death, our souls just go to another dimension, as if to another layer of consciousness, it's really nothing.”
“But the Non-Magical are afraid of death. Anyway... the Knights of the Light too.”
“That's what it's all about. If they were not afraid, then think, would the angels have any power over them? Remember this Gemini, fear is a powerful weapon, as strong as love or hate, but souls as pure as yours or Fourth's will never learn to use it.”
“But our job will be to kill...” Gemini referred to what Professor Puttha had told them.
“Yes, Gemini, but you will kill monsters, demons. Only in this case is taking someone's life justified and doesn't entail eternal damnation. But you must watch out for pride. Do you know why Zee and NuNew are not together even though they both have great feelings for each other?”
“No, but what does that have to do with...?”
“It has” interrupted Nanon. He snapped his finger, and a clear image appeared before their eyes, as if space had suddenly materialized around them, revealing Zee with a golden sword in her hand.
Zee stood proudly erect, his foot pressing down on the wooden, slightly dirty and dusty floor, what looked like a three-headed dog, with the tails of each viper growing out of the back of each head. The creature was brown in color, and wings sprouted from its back like an eagle's. His paws were clearly dog-like. It was definitely dead. Nearby, in a corner, a terrified child cowered. It was a boy dressed in torn, dirty rags, his face smeared with soot and tears, his eyes hidden behind tiny hands.
“You see? This boy is NuNew. Zee saved him, but he had to give something back. The angel asked him for something most precious, and for Zee at that time there was nothing more precious than love. He gave it up in exchange for a chance to save the boy and erase his memory. NuNew is fully Magical, but no one knows who his real parents are. Here I have to make a request to you: don't tell him about it. One day the curse will be lifted and those who obey the orders of the Angelic Choirs will be rewarded. Angels aren't as good-natured as you think, they can be mean at times, and some like to have fun at the expense of Magical, Non-Magical, and Hybrids. NuNew has now new family, I think he's happy where his is. It was Uriel's idea.”
“And you're allowed to talk about it so freely?”
“Of course. But I can only pass this knowledge on to you. And if you try to tell this to any of the Non-Magicals, you can be sure that the angel assigned to the task will never let them believe it. It's a way of protection for us. Well, but I think you should go now, someone misses you a lot” Nanon said and at the same time they both heard Fourth's soul-rending cry. His anguish reached here in the afterlife, tearing apart the music around them, mingling with Norawit's still clear voice, this time singing something about a city where he felt lonely until he met this one special person.
If Gemini hadn't been so scared and distraught, yet so desperate to get back to his boy, he probably would have recognized the song NuNew once covered, titled "City."
Nanon hugged him tight, wished him good luck, and snapped his fingers, making everything disappear again, and this strange space was replaced by the familiar infirmary.
Gemini opened his eyes to see his own body lying on the couch and Dr. Jimmy, Gun Atthaphan and Off Jumpol bustling around him. Gun was smearing his wounded hand with some red goo with a paintbrush. Off was drawing runes on the boy's bare chest with a stele, and Jimmy was on a conference call with...
Exactly.
Gemini screamed in surprise as a familiar face appeared on the screen, and it was none other than Magnus Bane, whom everyone in their Magical world seemed to have heard of.
“What are we supposed to do? He doesn't react to any runes, potions don't help” Jimmy was nervous. Norawit wanted to hug him, hug him and thank him for his efforts, but he thought Jimmy probably couldn't see him.
“Ask him,” Magnus replied calmly, sipping his drink slowly. He looked very calm and relaxed.
“Who?” Jimmy didn't understand.
“Ask Gemini. He's standing next to you.”
Jimmy turned sharply and his eyes met Gemini's, who felt quite unreal seeing his own body from this perspective.
“Gemini!” Jimmy screamed. “I already know now everything!”
A sudden thought hit the back of Jimmy's head and he clung to it like a drowning razor. If Gemini's soul was here, it meant his time had not yet come. Or that it is this unique Hybrid, whose arrival has been predicted for generations, but whose existence has been doubted by almost everyone. If that was the case, then you had to use the spells and potions that are described in the Book of Prophecies. No wonder they couldn't get by using standard methods to get rid of the remaining demon substance from the boy's blood, his blood wasn't similar to theirs, the Hybrid appeared once every 500 or 1000 years, it usually had features that others could only dream, but that meant that the body of such a Hybrid was also different. That's why his blood had such an unexpected and unobvious reaction with the toxin released by the demon.
“Listen, this is the Hybrid prophesied to us with a capital H! This is the Righteous Sovereign we've been waiting for!” Jimmy announced excitedly.
Gun dropped the brush he was still smearing Gemini's wound on the floor. Now everyone saw the boy's soul, and he smiled uncertainly at them.
“Gemini!”
“Yes, it's me. Why is everyone acting like they're afraid I'll forget my nickname?”
Gemini would have liked to know more, but then he heard Fourth's voice again, so full of pain that he couldn't wait any longer. He concentrated on the thought of wanting to be in the corridor next to Fourth, and after a while his wish was granted.
* * *
Suddenly, completely unexpectedly, Gemini appeared in front of them. He was wearing the same outfit Fourth had brought him here in, and he was standing just outside the entrance to the infirmary. He smiled and said in his typical, cheerful voice.
“Why are you so sad? Nong Fourth, don't cry, smile at me, your smile is my strength.” He approached Fourth, but when he tried to lift Nattawat's chin with his fingers to force him to look into each other's eyes, they both discovered to their horror that he was unable to do it. His hand sank into Fourth's body as if he had put it in a mist.
“Gem?” Fourth asked, looking around to make sure others were seeing the same thing. It turned out to be. Zee, NuNew, First and Joong stared at them with their mouths slightly open in surprise. The same shock was written on their faces. “Is it really you? What happened?”
“Hmmm,” Gem looked up, tapping his index finger against his own lips, pretending to think. “I think... Hmmm... I think I died.”
And to the even greater astonishment of the gathered, he laughed. And Fourth thought about how typical of Norawit, who was rarely serious around him, usually the life of the party, making weird faces, making jokes about everything, and now apparently even enjoying his own death. Nattawat thought there was nothing funny about death, but before he could ask the question, Gem answered him himself.
“You don't have to worry. I'll be back in my body in 24 hours. I'm a Hybrid, remember? My magical power is also that I can die an infinite number of times, but for me to die for real, I have to be killed in a certain way. Angels from one of the nine angelic choirs can also recall me from this world. And until my time comes, I won't die definitively. Don't worry” He repeated, looking into the eyes of the boy he had been looking for for so long and with such great dedication and devotion.
“You tell the truth?”
“Yes, what Gemini says is in line with an ancient prophecy” NuNew, who has been interested in this topic for a long time and dug through all available archival collections, joined the conversation to get all the information. “It says that one day a hybrid far more powerful than any we've ever seen will appear among us, and we'll know it by the fact that its death won't be permanent. This Hybrid, the strongest of all, will have the power to defeat the darkness of evil and exorcise demons on a scale we have never seen before. And the appearance of such a Hybrid in our world was to herald the prior arrival of a warlock who would be marked with scars. Gemini is the Hybrid, and First is the sorcerer of the prophecy.”
“How do you know so much?” Zee was interested.
“Oh, remember hia, the one time you caught me in your office? I was looking for information on this at the time, and Nat said he saw a book you had in which everything was described in detail. He couldn't steal it himself, and I didn't even want to ask him to. From the beginning, Gemini and First seemed to me to be more special than the other candidates for the Knights of the Light.”
“That means we need to protect them even better. I need to talk to someone about this.” Zee got up from his chair, put on his jacket, and left without saying goodbye in a dignified, graceful, quick step.
“And what's with him again?”Joong asked, pointing his thumb in the direction where their boss had disappeared.
“I have no idea.” NuNew shrugged. “But I guess we have more important things to do here than worrying about the boss's moods.”
“That's true. Gemini, will you explain to me how it is possible that we can see you?”
“I guess it's possible that I died and now I'm in the spirit world, and since that world is closely related to our dimension, you can all see me.”
“And will you really come back?” Fourth asked excitedly. His hands were still shaking and one knee was twitching, but mentally he felt a little better. He promised himself that once Gem is back he will hug him for a very long time and tell him again about his feelings. He didn't wanted to lose him again.
“Of course! How could I not come back? I have you here and a lot of other unfinished tasks, I need and want to go back.”
“And you're not angry with me?”
“Angry? Do I have a reason for this?”
“Uhm. You have a reason. It was because of me that you had to die. If I had listened to the professor, I would have remembered what it takes to transfer to the Institute immediately, we would not have wasted any time and Dr. Jimmy would have helped you right away.”
“Don't blame yourself for that. In fact, I forgot about it myself. You know? A lot happened that day when Mr. Puttha was talking about all this, it's hard to blame us for not remembering it. I'm not mad at you because I know you did everything in your power to save me, and for that I'm grateful. Besides, you gave Dr. Jimmy and Mr. Gun enough time to get the poison out of my system, and if you hadn't delivered me within 24 hours of my death, I would have returned to my body, but I couldn't control it. At least that's how it was explained to me.”
“I heard about that too,” Joong confirmed. “They say if the poison wasn't removed from your veins within 24 hours of your death, this demon would take over your body and you'd become something of a zombie. Except you would feel remorse and guilt every time that demon did something that went against your values. For example, you would feel guilty that your body was used as an instrument to torture or kill an innocent being, whether it was magical or non-magical, and you wouldn't have the power to defeat that demon and regain control of your body.”
“Yes, but I was told that if this is the special Hybrid, he would be able to defeat the demon,” added NuNew. “Anyway, we can be glad that everything seems to be going well.”
“Uhhhh,”Fourth sighed loudly, drawing everyone's attention to him.
“What's going on?” Gemini asked.
“Nothing, I just want to hug you right now and apologize.”
“I already told you, I'm not mad at you and you don't have to apologize to me for anything. You did nothing bad.”
Gemini smiled to him. Fourth wasn't sure if this happened for real or was just a way of his brain trying to save him from his own pain. He preffered to believe that it was real. He thought that next 23 hours will probably be the longest ones in his whole life.
“Don't worry too much, my handsome stranger, you're very brave and I'm proud of you. I'll be back and we'll meet again.”
“I'm not stranger, I love you, how can I be stranger?”
“Let it be your nickname that only I can use”.
“Okie” Fourth held out his hand as if to join their little fingers together as a sign of his promise, but quickly remembered that Gemini had no body at the moment. He decided he had to be content with the mere gesture of his promise.
