*Harpers POV.*

I sat in my room, coloring quietly as I had my earbuds in, listening to Taylor swift quietly. I was drawing a horse as usual, I loved horses, they're so elegant,and beautiful while still being sweet and adorable. I liked challenging myself to express different emotions in my drawings, and in my characters I'd draw, so right now most of my drawings expressed anger,sadness and fear.

I didn't know what would happen next, it had been a few days since my dad lost his job and we were being very careful with money. My dad had just went from 100k per year to 0. Now we were never "rich" persay, but we were well set and almost had enough money to buy a house instead of renting, now that money would have to go towards my dads case leaving us where we started.

I was quiet, i sat under the Ac on my bed, I knew I'd have to get a evaluation and counseling most likely because of the case and to help my dad and the thought of explaining my feelings to someone bugged me, a therapist is supposed to be understanding and all but I have met understanding people and I still can't rant my heart out to them, you know?

I finished my drawing and hung it on the wall before going downstairs where my family was, my mom and dad were talking about Self-surrendering. Now the word is pretty self explanatory, but I still didn't quite understand it..

"Hey mom, dad." I said as I walked into the kitchen, getting a root beer from the fridge. My dad glanced at me and smiled, "Hey," He smiled before looking at his phone then back at me and my mom, "So, to avoid them from coming and knocking on our door I'm going to go and self surrender in Utah and then we'll bail me out. Ok?" He asked, looking at me and I nodded. Why he asked me I don't know, its not my choice.

I nodded "That sounds good, how will you do it though?" I asked curiously, putting my hands in my pockets, that's when my mom spoke up. "Your grandpa is going to fly up and drive your dad down, then drive back up with him and fly back down, make sense?" She laughed softly and I nodded, I think that made sense..

My mom smiled, "Good." she replied before going to start doing laundry and I walked into the living room, turning on the TV and scrolling through the channels in boredom, thinking about what they just said, my dads bail would be about 10k, so that was some money down the drain.. I sat and stared at the TV before selecting animal planet, my favorite channel and starting to watch.
