"Tag your it. Try to catch me!"

Out of nowhere I lost my vision as I felt my glasses be snatched right from under my nose.

"My glasses!" I gasped, making eyes go to slits in order to see.

I knew that voice from anywhere and that voice belonged to no other than Juan.

I was sitting in lunch waiting for Kaitlynn and Rose to arrive, minding my own business when this happens. I could see the blurry vision of Juan running off across the cafeteria while all I could do was sit there like a blind little bat. I pouted knowing Juan wasn't going to return my glasses back to me anytime sooner.

"Hey Dani!" Kaitlynn greeted me as she sat next to me. "Mother what's wrong? You look different." Kaitlynn waved a hand over my face.

"My glasses got kidnapped." I squinted.

"By who????"

Speak of the devil, Juan came to our table with his tray of food and sat on my other side.

"Hey where are her glasses punk?" Kaitlynn confronted him.

"I'm not sure. I must have dropped them." He shrugged.

"Wait WHAT?!" I pulled on my hair, not sure if I was looking at Juan or not.

Probably I was staring at Kaitlynn. Not really sure.

"I'm just kidding gorgeous." He laughed and put my glasses back on my face, brining my beautiful vision back to me.

"Oh how I missed them!" I was super excited to have my sight back but then I frowned and actually faced Juan. Turned out I was facing the wrong way but this time I faced him directly and right in his eyes.

"Sorry Dani. It was just funny and all. You should have seen your face." He laughed.

"Dude not funny." Kaitlynn frowned at him as well.

"What?" He started to munch on his fries. "Her face was beautiful. That's what I'm saying."

"Mhm sure whatever." I pulled out my lunch from my backpack.

"Hey at least you're not Chinito who I bend his glasses or start playing football with them."

"Who Chinito?" Kaitlynn asked.

"His name is Kalvin but Dani and Rose call him Chinito. To be honest I like that nickname for him. I'll just start calling him like that from now on. Speaking of which...where is his girlfriend?"

"Girlfriend? What girlfriend? I didn't know he had one." I tilted my head to the side.

"Yeah it's your buddy. What was her name?"

"Rose?"

"Yeah Rose. Where is she?"

"First off, they aren't dating. Second of all, she usually comes late. By the way you're in her spot." I looked at him up and down.

"But I want to be next to you." He took a big bite from his apple.

For a year now it has always been Kaitlynn, Rose, and I. We were the three with the table all to our self. Lately though, people have started to join us. People that were not so likable and enjoyable to be sitting with. First we had a weird couple who would be taking about stuff they have been doing. Like seriously sophomores taking about sex and shit when they were just a bunch of babies that have no clue what life is. They thought they were the more mature from our table but when they found out I was a senior sitting with a bunch of babies, they stopped sitting at our table. Now its been a girl named Jenna who let's recap;

During eighth grade with my brother and Rose, she had a severe crush on my brother. Rose and Steve were best friends but one day for Valentines Jenna made a love note and stuck it in my brother's backpack. My brother got angry and blamed Rose for everything since she was friend with Jenna. Steve couldn't stand to look at Rose and became enemies with her. Especially when he dated the bitch of Ana, she would poison his mind about Rose. Now that Ana left the picture for good, things have changed though. And things seem to be better between them.

Now Jenna have been talking bad about my brother and talks to much about him knowing that I am his sister and all. It's quit annoying to be honest. I would have kicked her long time ago from my table but I'm not that mean to do it. Besides I'm not the one who bought the table. So for now she has been part of our group in our table and well its actually weird. I miss when it was just the three of us.

Now Juan just added himself to the table.

Though....

I don't really mind.

"Oh hiiii-" Rose stopped suddenly and made her eyes go wide when she noticed Juan sitting on her spot. "Boy get your ugly ass from my seat."

"Geez okay fine." Juan scooted to the next seat.

From the looks of it Rose wasn't happy to be still next to him.

Man I kinda wanted him next to me.

2 days later~

Ever since Juan kidnapped my glasses I have been more alert when I'm in lunch waiting for them to get their lunch and all. I was sitting by myself when I saw Merlyn coming towards my direction. Her lunch period was over so she was getting ready to head to her next class. It has been a while since we talked. We used to be so close but now that we have no classes nor lunch in common, she has been distant. Her eyes met with mine and quickly a huge grin plastered on her face. She was coming towards me.

Out of nowhere though, I felt someone hug me from behind.

Merlyn froze and gawked.

I turned back to see Juan grinning. He ruffled my hair and ran off to the lunch line, giving me a wink.

Once he was gone, Merlyn quickly rushed over to my table.

"What the heck did I just saw???"

Juan's hug was unexpected for me as well. I don't know what that was for.

"I-I-I-"

"Is he your boyfriend??? And you didn't tell me???"

Merlyn was making a big scene out of it and misunderstanding the whole thing.

"No!" I quickly said it. "He's just my abusive buddy." I nervously laughed.

"Abusive??? Are you telling me he hits you?"

"Yeah but in a playful way!" I flustered.

Great I'm making things sound worse.

The bell rang, literally saving me. It was indicating for Merlyn to get to class.

"We seriously need to talk. Text me ASAP." She ran off, dumping her tray in the trash and disappearing.

I quickly looked for my mom's phone which I used it, and texted her.

Me: What you need to know?

Seconds later she texted back. Dang she really wants to know because usually it takes her an hour to reply back.

Merlyn: is he or is he not your boyfriend?

Me: No. Just my friend.

Merlyn: He hugged you Dani (-_-)

Me: So?

Merlyn: Heck not even your exes hugged you like that.

Me: xD stop finding three legs to the cat. He has a girlfriend.

Merlyn: Whut 0_o

Me: Her name is Victoria and he is older than him. That's all I know.

Merlyn: ah... Well oops sorry Dani xD

I placed the phone back in my backpack and sighed.

He has a girlfriend...he has a girlfriend...

Then why do I like him more than just my abusive buddy?
