troubled reunions
"So you didn't tell Tora this, right?" I clarified and Leo tugged at his collar.
"Not exactly," he gulped.
"It's better if he doesn't know until things unfold," I breathed out. "If," I paused for a moment. "If this fails an-"
"Don't," Leo cut me off and I narrowed my eyes.
"If this fails and I don't get out in time, don't risk your own lives as well."
Silence passed over the both of us and I saw Leo slightly tremble.
"Leo," I warned.
"I-I can't agree to that, please," his hands reached out to hold onto mine, tears clouding his usual clear eyes.
"I'm not asking you, I'm telling you," I grit my teeth.
He shook his head, his lips shaking and I tore my hands out of his hold.
"Give me your word," I pushed, knowing the limits I was crossing.
Leo didn't speak, his eyes not meeting mine until his dry lips parted.
"I promise you."
"You promise me you won't go against my words?" I took a deep breath, needing the final closure.
"Yes."
"Loyal lion," I breathed out, knowing he heard my words, his tears streaming over the smooth skin of his cheeks.
"How can you do it?"
His voice was small and my back faced him now.
"What's stopping me?" I raised a brow, facing Leo again.
He blinked, taking my question into thought.
"Tora."
My lips tugged up as I shook my head, stepping closer towards him.
"That's what's pushing me further to do exactly this, no matter what," I explained.
"I-I won't fail on you," his head snapped up so he could look me in the eye as I let a light laugh out.
"Never could doubt my prince anyways," I grinned, his tear filled eyes brightening.
"The princess was always meant for the knight anyways."
"Damn right," I agreed. "Because the prince will find his own princess, better than the knight's because she'll be his own. Someone who isn't a princess, yet the prince makes her one because that's what's meant to be for them. You'll fulfill your true fate, even if it's not right now," I gave him a nod firmly as he gave me a smile.
We embraced for a moment, finding comfort in the time we had.
"Who knows, your princess might even be flirting with some random guy out right now that'll mean nothing to her in five minutes," I grinned at him.
"That definitely helped, thanks so much," he nodded repeatedly.
"I brought Usui," Tora walked in through the door, my mind going blank in an instant.
You know.
I wasn't always this lovestruck about him before the words actually passed my lips.
"I love Tora."
"My love, what's wrong?"
Tora was in front of me, his hand over mine as his eyebrows were furrowed and I felt all eyes on me.
"What?"
It was his turn to blink at me, his hand tightening over mine.
"Are you okay?"
I still couldn't get over him called me his love.
Who even did that.
Could he like stop, but not stop because my gO-
"I think the brother thing is just giving her slight shock," Leo spoke up, amusement clear over his face.
"Sorry, To To, I'm okay."
The words slipped out faster before I could process them and the air thickened around us.
I choked, Tora doing the same as Leo burst into laughter, smacking his knee as he held onto the wall.
"YoU BLOODY ACTUALLY JUST SAi-"
Leo was cut short of his words as Tora had tossed his jacket into the laughing male's face, pulling me close.
My ears felt on fire as I rested my head over his chest, his arms around me and I felt his heart beat under my ear out of rhythm.
"So would I be Ta Ta?"
I stood straight immediately, my eyes going to the male that had walked me down the aisle prior as there was the same female from before beside him.
"No," Tora shut him down and I stared at him.
My actual family.
"How about Ku Ku? Or Mi Mi? I think Taku Taku is nice too, or even just Tak Tak," he continued on and I found myself walking closer to him.
"Takumi, my brother," I breathed out as I stared at him.
"I mean I guess my name works too," he spoke, his eyes on me as well.
"Kum Kum!" I cheered, throwing myself at him with a smile, my eyes starting to water.
"See, why didn't I think of that one? Kumi Kumi sounds nice, ooh, or just Kumi," he turned his grin to the brunette beside him.
"I am not calling you Kumi," she refused.
"C'mon! What if sis says so?" He suggested, setting me down as he smiled at me, his arms loosely keeping me near him.
"Usui, no," she shook her head.
"Which one?"
We both chimed in, his grin having my heart melt as I stood beside him.
My own family.
I finally had one.
"Just once," he pestered her with a smile, a light pink over her cheeks as she shouted at him.
They continued to argue and my gaze stayed fondly over my mischievous older brother.
The scent of woods came to swirl around me as I leaned into him.
"Thank you, so much."
"No need," he replied, his arms holding me against his chest.
"Was this why?" I looked up at Tora as he raised a brow. "You never had time for the student council?"
He gave a simple grin, kissing my hair as he held me tight.
"I've got the official papers in the file," his fingers ran over my shoulder and I nodded.
"We head to the high administrative building tomorrow morning sharp," Leo gave a confident grin as we the five of us grouped.
"Hands in."
All of our hands went in the center in layers, mine, Tora's, Leo's, Takumi's, and the girl who I found to be Misaki as her hand went on the top.
We all smiled as we faced each other, tossing our hands high as this was the only ease we were able to have for now.
"Stop arguing with Tora, you idiot!" Misaki yelled at Takumi as they bickered.
"Say it nicely, Aki," he teased, getting pulled down by her.
"Stop it, Kumi."
Both of their faces went red as Leo went back to rolling on the ground with laughter.
