the pain of a forged marriage

His head snapped up to meet my gaze.

"You pieced it together, didn't you?" He raised a brow at me and I only smiled.

"You're a pure Italian, and I'm sure that's why you're not accepted here. Worry not, I'm not as close minded as many others," I rose from the seat, shifting Y/N in my hold as I walked over to the bed.

"Have you kissed her yet?"

Nearly choking at his words, I stumbled as I set her down on the bed.

"What kind of interrogation is that?"

"A simple one, yes or no?" He crossed his arms and I stood my ground.

"Why's it concern you?" I sighed, seating myself beside her sleeping form.

"Because if not, then I will at the altar."

I chuckled bitterly.

"Seems like you'll beat me to it then," I pulled the covers over her.

"Sure, but my one kiss have nothing over the countless ones you will give her," he spoke with a smirk, unbuttoning his shirt slightly.

"Wh-"

"I'll take the couch," he kicked his shoes off, settling on the couch that was in the room and I nodded.

Taking a deep breath, I loosened my collar as well, sliding onto the bed. Leaving space between me and Y/N, I was tugged back.

With wide eyes, I watched Y/N move closer to me. Tightening her grip over my shirt, she let her arms hold me as her head rested over my chest and I smiled.

Gazing at her, my eyes went over to her lips again and I snapped my eyes away.

No.

That's wrong.

Her consent was more important to me than she could ever understand.

I always had girls toss themselves at me, and as the first who tossed me aside, I would never want to pressure her into something.

Rubbing her back softly, I drifted off to sleep as well, her warmth wrapping around me as I was content in the moment with her.

"No, we are absolutely not going to be doing any of that," I crossed my arms in refusal while he pouted at me.

"Why not tiger?" He raised a brow and I gritted my teeth.

"Easy, Leo," Y/N sighed, shifting to take a sip of water.

"The wedding has to be convincing!" He continued on. "The administration thinks I'm working with them, so we should be careful about our steps. Every detail has to be thought out," he explained and I nodded.

"Fine, but nothing too extra," I rolled my eyes as he gave me a simple smirk.

"Oh, please, I'm all about extra," he grinned, waving his hand as he walked out.

"Why did we just agree to an engagement party?" I was baffled by my own agreement and Y/N sighed at my words.

"Because we need for things to work out our way in the end. You're aware that your presence is extremely important, correct?" She raised a brow at me and I rested my hands over her shoulders.

"Don't worry about me, I'll always be there," I smiled softly.

"You can't say that to me, I will worry about you," she held onto my hand, leaning into me.

"Y/N," I breathed out, holding her closer to me.

"Never forget how much you mean to me, just wait until this is all over," she gave me a determined smile.

"You won't guess how happy I'll be then."

Y/N's POV

"I'm going to be sick," I stared at all the various dresses in front of me, eyeing them as Leo gave a thumbs up.

Tora only rolled his eyes and I laughed.

"How about we don't go with the classic theme of black for groom and white for bride?" Leo came up to me as he shifted through the dresses.

"Are you sure?" I furrowed my brows and he gave a smile.

"Of course, because I know this wedding means nothing. So why bother trying to force i- never mind. What I meant was, you can look pretty in white for Tora, I'll choose another color," he gave a wink, his voice low as I choked over the water I had taken in.

"Are you trying to strangle her?!"

Tora's loud shout from behind the side had me wheezing as I was laughing too hard.

"Yeah, I was thinking the theme should be zombie like, how's a dead bride sound?" Leo shot back, rolling his eyes with a scoff. "As though I'd harm my fiancée."

He turned to the pink and purple dresses, scanning through them as he picked a few out.

"Try them on and see which you like, we'll go with that."

You can choose any or have your own!

"Wow," I stared at the selected pieces. "These barely even look like wedding dresses."

"That's partially the point, now get to it, no time to waste!"

"Wait, but isn't the groom not supposed to see the dress first?" I pointed out.

"The wedding is fake, we don't need things to be more painful than they need to be," he flashed a soft smile before stepping out as he waited with Tora.

Bickering went on between the two and I finalized the dress that I had chosen.

With a sigh, I joined the other two, ready to stab another as they were neck and neck.

"What's next?"

"I've already gotten the food managed by the chefs, so I was thinking the best location should be in the open ball room that's two streets down from our school," Leo suggested and I shrugged in response.

"Wait," Tora stepped forward.

"Yeah?" My eyes went to him and I took a sharp breath in.

Damn.

He's gorgeous.

"Is that alright?"

"I don't see the problem, unless there's another reason," Leo raised a brow and I snapped out of my trance.

"What do you think?" Tora turned to me and I blinked.

"She was too busy staring at y-"

"Your suit, I think we should find you a good suit tonight," I nodded, Tora blinking in confusion.

"Wh-"

"Great idea, later tonight we'll find our suits, and I think we can finalize things even later once we get back to the hotel. So tomorrow morning we will do the honors, invites, and everything getting set up so that the next day may be wedding day," Leo announced.

"Wait, my point from before," Tora stepped in and I turned to him.

"I forgot, could you repeat that?"

"It's directly across the back of Seika High," Tora pointed out and I stared at him.

"And? Oh! Let's invite them too then! It'll be great," I clapped my hands, moving on throughout the stores.

"What, no!" Tora argued and I simply smiled.

"Too late, I'll be heading over there early tomorrow morning with Leo to invite them. It'll be great public view if we have another school with us," I tugged Tora forward as he was still stuck in his spot.

Leo only shoved his hands into his pockets, eyeing Tora and I furrowed my brows.

"What's up?"

"Not much. Just got to figure something out, princess," Leo turned to me, pulling me forward.

His lips grazing my cheek as he tucked my hair back before continuing to walk.

"LEONE!"

I've got Leo's role planned out and for what he'll be doing next, and don't worry, I'm not going to be kicking Tora aside, Tora is definitely coming into a larger play but apparently seems like people are liking Leo as well too ;)
