confessing at moonlight

"No, I am not. I have no intoxication whatsoever running through my veins, thank you very much for asking."

"Gosh, it's like you snorted too much sugar up your nose this morning and it went to your brain," I scoffed, leaning against the tree.

"I," he paused as he stared at me. "Won't even comment on that."

Our shoulders touched as my eyes went to focus on our touching skin. Even though we both were wearing the student council jackets, our shoulders were up against each other.

In a split decision, I took his hand in mine, intertwining our fingers. It was an action that we did constantly as children but now was rare.

Tora's eyes snapped to our hands as he stared at me with wide eyes.

"What? Do you not like it?" I asked as he smiled softly and shook his head at me.

"No, not at all. I love it."

"Well, considering the fact that you had just made a comment of us being lovers the moment before, forget I ever did anything," I let go of his hand as I stood up and brushed off my skirt.

"Hey, you were the one who brought up us being lovers," he called out loudly behind me as I walked forward. "I didn't even say anything of us holding hands."

"Let's just get back to work," I said only to get pulled back as Tora's hold on my wrist pushed me into his chest, his arms staying around my lower back.

"No, we came out to eat since the weather is nice so we will eat," he stared at me as I admired his sharp eyes.

They were cunning, clever enough to tell apart the good and bad in the world.

I stared at him as he held me, looking over each of his features. The fact that he was extremely attractive was undeniable to even the most moronic person.

But good thing I was the most moronic of all morons.

"No."

"Yes."

"N-"

"I don't care," he pulled me back so we could go to the small cafe by the school.

"Tora," I groaned and he only rolled his eyes, walking us in.

"It'll be fine," he squeezed my hand as we ordered at the counter and we sat down.

He leaned back in the seat, sitting next to me as his arm was draped around my shoulder.

I sighed, rolling my eyes when the waitress came out to bring the tray, her eyes on Tora.

Shrugging Tora's hold off of me, he turned to me.

"Hey, what's wro-"

"Nothing, just eat," I told him and before he could say anything, I shoved the sandwich into his mouth.

I knew Tora kept glancing at me while we ate and I could only roll my eyes as I saw the waitress come back over.

My eyes widened at what she was planning to do.

A drink in her hand, she leaned forward, spilling it like it was an accident.

Before I thought twice, I had nudged Tora over, the liquid splashing over me as she meant to pour it over Tora.

"O-oh, I'm so sorry!" She shrieked, her eyes wide that I had come in the way.

"No," I scoffed harshly. "You're not," I stood tall, eyes coming over to us as I internally groaned.

If Tora wasn't with me, I'd be able to create a scene, but this way his reputation was on the line as well just because of my actions.

Not speaking further, I brushed past her, tying my hair back up that I had let down, glad my hair was still clean.

Though I felt sticky and would have to change my uniform, I was relieved that Tora hadn't gotten the spill over him.

Pushing the doors open, I made my way back to the school, feeling a warm hand pulling on mine.

As I was spun around, my eyes widened and I held a hand out against Tora's chest to keep us from getting closer.

"You'll get dirty," I said and he only stared at me.

"I don't care," he pushed my hand off, pulling me entirely into his hold. "Why'd you take the hit?"

"It's my duty, now move, I've got to shower," I pushed him off with a sigh, going to grab the spare uniform I had and walked back into Tora and I's office.

"You always say it's your duty! Is that all I'll ever be to you?!" His question threw me off and I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Do you want something more?"

He fell silent, his gaze stuck on the floor as his head was lowered.

Without another word, I turned to shower, hanging the uniform up with the towel.

As I washed off all of the stickiness and rinsed the bubbles, I quickly dried myself off and slid on the clean clothes.

Opening the door, I raised a brow at seeing a seated Tora who was filling in paperwork.

"The fair has gotten quite popular in such a short time," he didn't look up at me when he spoke and I rolled my eyes.

Of course he was going to close himself off.

"Yeah, the students are excited for a break after exams."

I sighed, going back to filing the papers into the drawer.

Four hours had passed and when I looked up from the chart of exam records, my eyes fluttered over onto Tora.

His sleeping form was bent over his desk as he still had his ink pen in hand. His steady breathing was the only part of him that moved.

Yet even so, he was coiled like a cobra.

Always ready to strike.

I pushed my chair back, walking over to him slowly as I saw it had gotten dark, the large glass windows now illuminating moonlight into our office.

I smiled, staring up at the stars and I let out a deep breath.

Snapping my gaze back to Tora, my eyes scanned over his entire posture.

His back was relaxed, his shoulder blades flexing with every breath he took. The rise and fall of his chest causing his arms to tense.

Placing my hand over his, I leaned into him, letting my other hand run over his cheek and I let my eyes shut for a moment.

"I'm sorry we fell apart. I still miss you."

I felt my voice nearly break, the slight whisper only for his ears to hear even if he wasn't awake.

The nickname I had for him when we were younger, when we were happier together, slipping past my lips even if he wasn't aware of it.

"My To To."

Keep in mind guys, no hate on anyone, it should go without saying, but a cisnagnt reminder is needed, but that's okay, no worries!
