"thomas stanley holland, i cannot believe you have bought that thing" nikki pointed her finger at the new basketball net in her back garden. paddy was eagerly pulling the bubble wrap off the hoop while tom ripped open the plastic bag with the net in. dom followed quickly and picked up the discarded cardboard, filling an entire bin bag ready for the tip.

"come on, mum," he began to argue. "it's for paddy, just let him live out his basketball dream, yeh?"

"he's got a point, nikki. the kid's obsessed. he even asked me to give him pointers the other day" (y/n) stood next to nikki, her arms crossed as sam and harry came out to help as well.

"so that's what you were talking about"

"yeh, i don't know why he came to me though, i'm not the best"

"we'll test that theory soon, babe" sam smirked, lifting the pole into the base with harry.

"it won't happen, i'm telling you know" she whispered to nikki, watching the boys finish putting up the basket. dom hurried around, picking up the last pieces of cardboard and rubbish the boys had left laying around. sam held the ball in his hand and looked at (y/n). she slipped off her shoes and caught the ball, standing in the middle of the air mat, positioning her feet.

she bent her knees and pushed the ball out her hands. it flew through the air in a perfect arch. everyone turned to her after sam caught the ball and threw it back to her. paddy's mouth was in a wide smile while harry and tom's jaws dropped to the ground. she set up to throw another one and got it straight in again.

"we didn't really have to test it though, did we?" she smirked as the ball hit the net and fell into sam's hands again.

"you've got to teach me that, (y/n)" paddy jumped on the air mat and pulled on her arm.

"of course, pads. let's get these amateurs off the mat and we'll start, yeh?" paddy laughed and looked at his big brother's faces. harry and tom were still in shock at the hidden skills their brother's girlfriend had.

"tom, harry, close your mouths," nikki commented. "come on, let's leave them to it." harry, sam and tom followed their mum inside, still shocked at (y/n).

"so; first of all-" she began, showing paddy the basics and leading him through it all. nikki sat outside and watched them, happy to see her youngest enjoying himself. sam watched every so often from inside as well, happy to see his girlfriend getting along with his youngest brother.

after what seemed like years, the two plodded back inside, paddy red faced and exhausted. he dragged his feet to the fridge and poured himself a glass of water, almost chugging it fully.

"whoa, slow down, pads. you'll get hiccups" (y/n) ran over to him, a hand resting on his upper back. he took the drink from his mouth and gave out a deep sigh.

"i won't get-hiccup!"
