Chapter 67

*** Victoria's POV ***

"You're alright." My mother gasped as soon as we walked through the door and ran toward us to pull me into a tight hug. "They tried to trick me. They tried to lie to me, when I knew you weren't okay."

"I'm okay, mama." I smiled as she gave me another squeeze.

"You are, now." She said pulling back before cupping my face. "Did they hurt you?"

I shook my head with a smile. "No. I'm alright."

"Really?"

I nodded letting out a small laugh when she narrowed her eyes at me, not ready to let it go at all. But she always had a very hard time letting go of things. That was the biggest problem with her and cause of her illness. Some things would just get stuck in her head.

"I'm really okay." I said taking a step back so she can clearly see me. "Look at me."

She looked at me from head to toe slowly with a frown before she turned to look Steve.

"I told you she was fine." He said causing her narrow her eyes at him, giving him an accusing look.

"She is fine now." She stated. "Was she the last time I asked you?"

I held back a smile when I heard him clear his throat awkwardly, not answering. She shook her head before placing her hand back on my cheek.

"Oh my, you haven't eaten yet." She gasped pulling away as her eyes widened. "Of course, you haven't. I'm going to start cooking."

"Mom, it's okay. I can ma-"

"Sshh. I'll be fast." She said before practically running off before I can say anything else. "Go freshen up. I'll be done by the time you finish."

I sighed and turned to face Steve.

"You know how she is." He smiled placing a hand on my shoulder. "Are you good?" He asked.

"Yeah." I nodded furrowing my eyebrows. "Is Jason still there?" I asked.

"Yeah."

"Is he going to be okay?"

He chuckled and nodded moving closer. "You shouldn't worry about him. From what I've seen, the biggest problem Hunter has is Sebastian."

I nodded with a small laugh. "You have no idea. He's bratty and unpredictable."

"Go before your mother finds you here." He smiled placing a kiss on my forehead.

"You're right." I laughed turning to go to my room.

******

"Jason!" I squealed as soon as I walked out of the bathroom to find him in my room.

"Hi." He opened his arms.

"Hi." I grinned quickly walking into his open arms. "Thank God you're okay."

I smiled as he hugged me tight. I wrapped my arms around him letting myself sink into his warmth, absorbing it. I closed my eyes burying my face into his chest.

"You're unbelievable. I should be the one saying that." He said moving a hand up and down my back.

I pulled my face from his chest looking up at him. I smiled before moving my hands to his shoulders. "I missed you."

He moved one of his hands from my waist to place it on my cheek, moving his thumb over my skin.

"What's wrong with you?" I asked noticing the solemn expression he had. "Are you okay? Did something happen?" My frown deepened when he didn't answer right away and just kept moving his thumb over cheekbone.

"I'm sorry." He finally said.

He's sorry?

"For what?" I asked.

"Everything." He said digging his fingers on my sides slightly.

Realization settled in. I let out a sigh and dropped my head shaking it slightly.

I looked back at him and gave him a small frown not liking where this was going at all. "It wasn't your fault."

"I'm sorry." He repeated and I lifted myself up to my tiptoes to press my lips against his giving him a lingering kiss.

He wrapped his arms around my waist and his lips slipped over my own. My arms reached out to wrap around his neck while his big arms dragged me further up his body, my feet dangling inches off the ground. He sucked my bottom lip into his mouth, biting down gently before soothing gently with a sweep of his tongue. He moved his hand to my head grabbing a fist full of my curls before pulling on them for better access, the kiss turning sharp and hot.

I let out whimper of disappointment when he went to pull away. Jason dropped kisses on the corner of my mouth, my jaw, the center of my throat, that soft spot behind her ear before moving his mouth back to mine, kissing me with more force than before.

I broke away with a quiet gasp and placed my forehead against his chest. It took a few moments to calm myself before I looked up at him to see looking down at me with soft hooded eyes.

I let out a breath when I felt my feet touch the ground again.

"Don't give me that face. It's over, isn't it?"

"Your mother trusted me to take care of you." He said and I gave him a small smile still feeling a little breathless from the kiss.

My hands moved back over his shoulders. "And you did just that."

"I won't let anything like this happen again." He said as I felt my feet touch the ground once more.

I nodded with a smile. "I know. And I won't let anything happen to you too."

He gave me a tired sigh. "Victoria-"

I moved one of my hands to his jaw looking into his eyes. "For better and for worse. It will take a lot more than a lunatic uncle to scare me off." I said tapping his nose. "I love you."

He kept the same the same expression so I pinched his nose not moving away, keeping the air from going in and out.

A chuckled left him as he pushed my hand away. "I know."

I gaped at him and shook my head with a small laugh.

"And he's back." I rolled my eyes titling my head to the side. "Plus, if I can handle spending the rest of my life with you, I can handle anything."

He pulled me up against him once more resting his forehead against mine and let out a small breath. "I love you so damn much."

I grinned. "I know." I grabbed his hand squeezing it. "What happened to him?" I asked and his face hardened for a moment before he relaxed once more.

"He's dead." He simply said.

My eyes widened in shock and I was about to open my mouth to ask more by he stopped me.

"Don't ask, please. Just know that he's dead." The finality in his tone forced me to comply.

I nodded as he grabbed one of my tight coil tugging it behind my ear. I was about to open my mouth to say something else when someone knocked on my bedroom before it opened, revealing my mother.

"The food is ready. You guys must be starving." She smiled before walking back out.

"I know I am." Jason said and I nodded grabbing Jason's hand to pull him out of the bedroom.

"Let's go eat. We can relax and talk later."

*****

"You're still supposed to have dinner with my father." I said once we finished eating and putting everything away.

He let out a groan opening the dishwasher.

"I remembered. Why do fathers need to do that again?"

"Why do you do it to Elena?" I laughed, knowing how she will be enjoying the dinner, because I know I will for her.

"Because it's fun for me." He shrugged and I gave him a look. "I'm thirty, not sixteen. And he knows who I am."

"Aw. Are you scared?" I asked rinsing the dishes to place them in the dishwater as he sat on one of the stools.

"No. I just hate formal dinners and small talks. That's Seb's thing. He's a sweet talker." He said and I laughed briefly looking back at him.

I nodded in affirmation. "That's how he gets all these girls." I laughed when Jason let out a scoff behind me. "It's true. He's good."

"Just give him time. He just hasn't found the one that would slap some sense into him. If he ever does."

"I'm sure he will. If he doesn't by the time he's forty, I'll be his wing woman." I said closing the dishwasher with my foot before starting it. "He said I could be."

He laughed dropping his head. "And you're going to wait until he's forty?" he shook his head. "You're a horrible wing woman."

"No. I'm a great wing woman." I rested my arms on the counter facing him. "Because by then, our children should have crushes they talk about and that should put him to shame. He's going to have to let me handle his love life."

I looked at him to see him looking at me with a smirk on his lips and a teasing look in his eyes.

"What?"

"Our children, uh?"

I blinked for a moment feeling blood rush to my cheeks as his smirk widened.

"I know you're blushing." He teased and I narrowed my eyes at him.

"You don't know anything." I scoffed rolling my eyes as he stood from his seat to move closer to me. He wrapped his arms around me pulling me closer to him.

"How many do you want?"

I looked up at him with furrowed eyebrows, still feeling the heat on my face when I realized what he was asking. I shrugged looking to the side. "I don't know."

"You really are blushing. I can always tell." He smiled grabbing my chin to lift my head up. "How about seven? We can use each day of the week to name them."

"Are you crazy!?" I laughed throwing my head. "I'm not naming any of my children Monday or Thursday. AndI'm not having seven children."

"We can negotiate." He grabbed my waist lifting me on top of the counter before pushing my curls back. He stood between my legs as his eyes roamed my face.

"No."

He didn't say anything and continued staring until I huffed.

"What?"

"What?" He asked moving his hand down my arm.

"What are you looking at?" I asked enjoying the feeling of his warm hand on my arm.

He moved a hand to my neck before answering. "You."

"Stop it."

"Why?" He asked not looking away.

"Jason." I sighed placing both my hands over his eyes.

He grabbed both my wrists pulling me closer to him. "I can't help it. You're gorgeous."

I giggled. "And you call Sebastian the sweet talker."

"I'm not sweet talking. I'm just stating a fact. You're really stunning, and you don't even know how much."

"Thank you." I gave him a small smile before leaning in to kiss him lightly and pulled away with a laugh when he tried to deepen.

"You know we could start now." He smirked moving his hand down to my butt and I gasped pushing his face away as I felt my face heating up.

"Stop it." I laughed bashfully before pushing him away and he let me so I can get down. "You need to go talk to my mother."

He sighed loudly and nodded. My mother barely said a word at dinner and the only thing she said before going back to her was that she needed to talk to him.

"I wonder what she wants to talk to you about." I said looking at him.

"I think I know." He said.

"I'm sure it's nothing good. That's what she gets for letting you be a son in law." I said teasingly watching his retreating back.

"If she can handle being your mother, she can handle anything." He said with a smirk walking to the door.

"You're so annoying!" I groaned before running after to hit his back causing him to let out a laugh. "I hope she pulls your ear."

"Rose?" Jason called knocking on the bedroom door.

"Come in." he heard and he opened the door opening the door. He walked in closing the door behind.

She was sitting by the glass with a book in her hand.

"I'm mad at you." She said not even turning to look at him.

"I'm sorry." He said slowly walking closer taking a seat facing her, but she still didn't move from her position and still not looking at him. "Rose." He called quietly when she closed her book.

She shook her head and finally turned to look at him, pinning him with her gaze. "You gave me your word."

"I know."

"You don't know." She said as her large eyes stayed on him unmoving. "She's my only child. She's precious to me."

"I know."

She pointed a sharp finger at him, narrowing her eyes. "I put my trust in you because you're good."

"It won't happen again."

Letting her eyes soften for a moment, she lowered her finger. "I want her to be okay."

"She will be. I love your daughter. Hurting her would mean hurting myself. It's all over now."

She let out a sigh. "The two of you are getting married."

He nodded. "Yes."

"I'm going tell you what I told when you asked me for her hand." She said looking at him. "If you ever hurt her, I'm taking my child back."

A small smile graced his lips and he nodded standing up. "That won't happen." He said.

She raised an eyebrow at his response not taking her eyes off him. "What? You not hurting her or me taking her away."

"Both."

She let a smile escape her. "Get out of here, you crazy man."

He chuckled while walking toward the door.

IMPORTANT NOTE‼️PLEASE READ!!‼️⬇️

There are two chapters left and the epilogue.

I already started Elena and Marco's story since they won the votes by A LOT!! Letting people only vote once really does make a difference.

I already wrote the first three chapters of it but I want to finish this one first, because their story takes off after the events of MLMM. I only wrote three chapters but I'm having way too much fun with Elena.

I also know that a lot of you are tired of waiting for my updates but I can assure that I do my best. But I also have university and I barely have time for myself because of my stupid classes. But I am NOT dropping any of my stories and I plan on writing all the stories, including Seb and the other side characters you guys want. Not only for you guys but also because I want to and I enjoy writing these characters. Especially Seb sometimes😂.

I was planning on dropping all the remaining chapters at once but I decided to drop this one first before continuing with the remaining ones.

Anyways thank you for your patience. I really appreciate you guys. And stay safe please. I love you all!
