Chapter 64

"You're going to pay for this." Elena's voice was the first thing I heard in my confusion. "Victoria?" I heard her again but still couldn't find it in me to react. "Victoria, come on." She said again and I opened my eyes with a small groan.

I winced a little as I tried to let my eyes adjust a little.

"Vicky?"

I slowly turned my head to the side to see Elena looking at me with a small frown.

"Thank God you're finally awake." She said.

I tried to move my body in vain. The only sound I could hear was Elena's voice and clanking sound. I moved my body again and only then did I realize that my hands were tied by two thick cuffs behind my back. I tried to move a little from where I was sitting and looked up slowly to see that the clanking sound came from the wall behind me.

I looked back in front of me to see Kevin sitting on a chair by a metal door looking directly at me. I looked around slowly to see a square room with no windows, white walls were surrounding us. I looked down and saw the white mattress we were both sitting on.

"Victoria?"

I looked at Elena when I heard my name. her hands were also tied behind her back.

"She just woke up. She's going to react slowly for a few minutes." Kevin said standing up from his seat.

"What the hell in wrong with you?" She snapped glaring at him.

"Shut up Elena." Kevin growled before closer to where we were sitting. "I already have plans for you better keep your mouth shut, before you make things worse for yourself."

"You're really crazier than we thought." She snapped looking at him angrily. "Don't think for one second that you will get away with this."

He shook his head before looking at her with a disgusted expression. "You're as loud mouthed as your brother was. Your arrogance disgusts me."

"And your cowardice disgusts me." She hissed angrily pulling at the chains. "Why didn't you go after Jason or Sebastian?" She asked looking at him with clenched teeth. "You only had the guts to go after my brother when he was a child. You're a coward!" She snapped the last sentence loudly causing him to take a step forward and angrily grip onto her hair before pulling her head back.

He pulled at her hair holding her up to her knees.

"You're going to pay to putting your hands on me like that." She hissed glaring right into his eyes. "If you're what you say you are, untie me and try to pull my hair again."

"I told you to keep your mouth shut."

"Let go of me." She hissed back looking at him viciously.

He let out a small bitter laugh at he before speaking again. "You should be like Vicky and stay quiet."

"You can say that when she hasn't completely recovered."

"It looks like you have your father's temper." He said pulling her hair harder. "That's not a good thing."

"And I can defend myself just as well, so untie me."

"If you knew what was coming for you, you wouldn't be running your mouth like that." He pushed her away roughly before standing up.

"I'll be back later. You two better behave." He hissed opening the heavy metal door before slamming it shut as soon he exited the room.

"Victoria." Elena quickly said shifting closer to me, as far as the chains would let her. "How is your head? Are you still feeling dizzy?"

I nodded slowly turning my head against the wall to look at her. "No. My head is fine. You?"

My lips felt heavy, and it was hard to talk without felling tired.

"I'm okay." She nodded looking toward the metal door. "The one who brought me here didn't drug me."

I gave her a small smile. "You're very brave." I said forcing myself to open my mouth.

She shook her head. "Look at me. Look at my shoulders and legs." She said.

I did as she said just to find them shaking a little. Her whole posture was stiff.

"I'm terrified, Victoria. But dad told me that you cannot show that to people like him." She hissed and started moving her arms around again.

"You're very brave." I repeated after nodding in understanding. "I will never be able to do what you just did." I said tiredly before leaning my head against the wall. "Did you see the place when you got here."

"No." She whispered. "He blindfolded me."

I jumped slightly as a sound and the lights turning off startled me. Elena let out a small gasp and I started looking at the dark room with furrowed eyebrows.

Another sound was heard and Kevin's voice was heard into the room.

"If you learn how to act properly, I'll turn the lights back on. If you behave properly until I see you two not causing any trouble, I'll let you out and we can all get along." He said as his voice echoed around the room. "But until you have a perfect behavior, I'm taking away all your privileges."

"Sick." Elena hissed in the dark and I silently agreed with her.

He spoke again. "I know that the bracelet you were wearing has a tracking device in it. Was that a gift from daddy?"

I furrowed my eyebrows heard Elena shift a little beside me.

"Cat got your tongue?" Kevin's teasing voice came out again and Elena balled her hands into fists. "Were you really hoping for him to find you that way? Well that's sad."

Nothing else was heard after that.

"Everything's going to be fine." I whispered hoping Elena heard me.

"Yeah." She agreed quietly.

****

I don't know how long it has been. All I know is that I'm tired and I haven't moved from where I was sitting. The only reassurance I've got is that Elena is here, even though I can also feel how tired she was.

"Elena." I called quietly and she moved again.

"I'm thirst-" She stared but was cut off by Kevin's voice.

"I was beginning to get worried. You've been quiet all night." He said and the lights turned back on making us both wince at the brightness.

"Elena needs water." I said.

"Like I said. You won't get anything until you've learned how to behave. And you are going to behave. I don't care if I have to break you to get what I want." He said angrily, making me silently wonder how his tone can change so easily.

The further we go, the more I realize how unstable he is. How did he come to this? Why is he so full of hate? Why would he hate the people who took him in and took care of him this much?

"Why do you hate the Knights so much?"

"What?"

"Your hatred from them is deep. You've spent yeas o your life hating them and trying to hurt them." I said. "Why?"

"Because I do. I loathe them."

"But why? What did they do to you?"

"Things that don't concern you."

"It seems to me that you don't even know where your hatred started anymore." I said looking toward the ceiling. "And yet here we are. I don't know if I should cry or just yell."

I closed my eyes slowly and cleared my sore throat a little.

"No matter what happened in the past. Elena didn't do anything to you. You two never even talked until now." I said before looking at Elena who slowly turned her head to the side. "Please. Elena is not well. She needs water." I pleaded but was met with silence. "Please." I repeated closing my eyes tightly.

"Why would I do something like that for this ungrateful brat?"

"She didn't do anything to you." I cried getting tired of this back and forth. "You could have changed a lot of things in your life and you didn't. Elena doesn't even like the Knights' company. You are being unfair to an innocent person, whether you accept it or not."

I heard him scoff and then there was silence.

"Elena?"

"Mh. I'm fine. Don't worry." She said shifting again.

I looked up glaring at the ceiling waiting for him to come back or say something.

"Kevin!"

I winced a little when the metal door suddenly opened and he walked through it with a bottle of water in his hand. He closed the door behind him without a word.

I looked at him warily and he moved and went down when he got in front of Elena. He tapped her cheek lightly causing her to stir and open her eyes.

"She has her mother's features, doesn't she? But she has her father's eyes. And that's a shame. He's the reason I hate blue." I heard him say but I stayed silent.

He opened the bottle and started moving it to Elena's mouth but I stopped him.

"Dink some of it." I said, questioning my own sanity but still bot trusting him.

"I'm hurt that you don't trust me, Vicky." He chuckled before drinking some of it and turned to look at me. "Satisfied?" He asked putting a straw in the bottle and brought the water to her lips without waiting for an answer.

"I am not going to kill her. I have plans for her."

The more he talked, the more I questioned his sanity. Maybe he is more unstable than we think. Some words leaving his mouth make me wonder when he started letting his hatred blind him like this.

"I was going to keep her with us. But I think I have better plans now." He said again and this time I looked at him, his words catching my full attention.

"What?" I asked and I watched him make her drink the water slowly.

"Hunter put me through hell." He hissed as he narrowed his eyes at Elena. "And I know people who will pay the right price for a beauty like her. They don't care who she is and where she is from. What matters is that she's young and beautiful."

I furrowed my eyebrows as I felt an unpleasant pressure to my chest. "What are you talking about?"

"Don't be naïve, Victoria." He chuckled again. "Kidnapping his daughter isn't enough. If I keep her, he's going to find 'his treasure' anyways. I heard him call her that in Jason's office. That bastard." He laughed but I could hear the anger behind it.

He pulled the bottle away from Elena when she was done and stood up. I turned my head slightly to check on her to find her watering eyes already on me. She lowered her head a little using her hair as curtains from him.

"I'm just making sure she goes to the right people. Even if Hunter catches, she would already be with them." Kevin said and I looked back at him, letting my disgust for him appear on my face.

"You can't do that. And you won't." I snapped at him and he laughed again.

"I would enjoy the time you have left with her if I were you." He said again with a small laugh. "I am enjoying myself. You have noidea how much money people are ready to put on her."

"You make me sick." I hissed as my heart slammed harder against my chest both in anger and stress. "You are not going to touch her."

"Oh, I won't touch her. Don't worry." He waved me off before opening the door and stepping out. "I'll be back in a few minutes." He smirked closing the door behind him.

And he did.

He came back a few minutes later with keys in his hands and directly went to Elena.

"Don't touch me." Elena said as he moved untying her from the wall but keeping the cuffs around her wrists. "What are you doing?" She asked but winced when her voice cracked at the end.

He forcefully pulled her up and started dragging her toward the door.

"Stop it!" I snapped desperately pulling against the chains. "Kevin, leave her alone!"

"Let me go!" Elena cried and tears started streaming down her face. "Let go of me."

"Kevin, please!" I pleaded too finding it harder and harder to breath. "Let her go! Kevin, I'm begging you. She is your niece!"

He snorted and pulled her harder toward the door. Elena started crying harder and dropped to her knees struggling harder to make him loosen his grip.

My chest tightened even more and I found harder and harder to breathe.

"This is the girl?" I heard a new voice say over Elena's cries.

My eyes as I stared from him to Kevin. His whole face was covered, probably to keep Elena and I from knowing his face.

"She's a good one." The stranger smiled moving a hand toward her face but she moved her joined fist shoving his hand away.

"Don't touch me!" I heard Elena cry and the strange man laughed at that.

"Let's go. I don't like staying in places for too long." He hissed grabbing her arm and pulling her from Kevin.

"No! Kevin, stop this, please!" I yelled. "You really think Hunter w-"

"Don't say his name in fr-" He was stopped when the man beside him let out a groan followed by a curse.

He winced bending his knee a little before Elena jumped slamming the top of her head under his chin before using her joint fists to punch him. The man dropped her with another loud curse before taking a step back.

Elena dropped to her knees, shaking hard as tears kept coming down her face. She tried to move only to have the man look at her angrily. He pulled his hand from the space his nose was showing the blood on his fingers.

"You little bitch." He snapped angrily walking toward her shaking form with a raised fist, making my heart jump.

"Don't hit her. You haven't even completed the transaction yet and you want to scar her." Kevin said grabbing onto his shoulder.

"You said you trained her." The man snapped angrily shoving Kevin away from him. "You didn't. And the other one has a big mouth. I should fucking kill you." He snapped shoving past him. "Meet me upstairs."

He walked and Kevin angrily looked at Elena. "If it's not this one, it will be the next." And with that, he walked out slamming the door shut.

I clenched my shaking hands and looked at Elena still in the same position.

"Elena." I called softly looking at her shaking form. "Elena, come here."

She nodded and started slowly moving before lifting her head up. She stood up and shakily made her way back toward. She sat back on the mattress before laying her head on my lap.

"I'm sorry." I whispered resting my head against hers. "I'm so sorry." I said as a sob escaped me. I bit onto my lip tightly to keep myself from letting out another one.

"I'm scared." She said with a sob as her body started shaking again.

I couldn't say anything anymore. All I could do was let my head rest against hers.
