narrator:

Half an hour later they arrived at the fair that was set in the Northern part of Manhattan. Since it was the afternoon, it was crowded but they eventually found a parking space.

They got out of the far and walked towards the ticket booth, getting a few tickets before looking around- deciding which rides they would go on.

"Which one you wanna start with?" Asked Nico.

Percy looked around. "What about... that one," said the tanned boy pointing to a boat-shaped ride.

Nico nodded, grabbing Percy's wrist and dragging him towards the ride.

"Tickets please," said the woman at the entrance.

The shorter Male gave her the number of tickets needed as both boys got in and starboard themselves to the seats.

(AN//so I already know this chapter is gonna be pretty crappy. So guys, if you just wanna skip towards the part where I put the time skip, that's fine.)

More people got on and after a few more minutes of shuffling and shifting, another ride director made a quick check before giving the signal, and the ride roared to life.

It started off pretty slow, rocking back and forth, picking up speed as it went by.

"Never been on one of these," muttered Percy closing his eyes.

"You haven't?"

"Nope," replied the boy popping the p. "It's too populated and trafficked to have a- HOLY SHIT!" he screamed as the increase in altitude caused the ride to tip all the way up, deciding on whether to make the full circle or fallback down. "I'm gonna die," muttered Percy. "I'm gonna fucking die and I'm gonna die a fucking virgin." 

Nico, who was obviously unfazed by the ride, gave the tanned male a sideways look, not exactly knowing how to feel about this new piece of information. "You're a virgin?" 

"You're not?" retorted Percy with eyes still closed. 

"I mean, yeah, but I didn't expect you to be virgin. You're too damn hot to be virgin," Nico whispered the last part, his face heating up. 

"What was that- HELL NO!" The ride finally beat the pressure of gravity and made the full 360 spin, sending Percy to jerk forward in his seat. The only thing preventing him from falling was the body latch protection. 

Nico, unlike Percy, screamed in excitement with the newfound adrenaline coursing through his veins and in his bloodstream. "OPEN YOUR EYES JACKSON!" The smaller boy screamed over top of the ocean of other voices around them. 

"I'M GONNA FUCKING DIE!" 

"JUST OPEN YOUR DAMN EYES, JACKSON!" 

Although every inch of his body was terrified, something about Nico's urging voice made him open his eyes.  

Tentatively he cracked them open, only to meet the ride going back up and quickly shut his eyes again. 

Percy heard a sigh beside him and not long after, Nico's hand was interlaced with his. 

"Percy," Nico whispered- despite all the sound, "Look at me." 

The green-eyed boy opened his eyes and looked at the male beside him. 

"Nico gave a small smile. "I'm sorry for making you ride this," he said. "I should've asked first. But it's almost over; you just have to be on here for a few more minutes, ok?" 

Percy stared back at the dark-haired boy. He said words but Percy didn't quite catch them. He was too caught up on how the sun's beams made a delicate aura on the boy. The way his hair whipped across his face at the ride's violent movements. And finally, how his lips moved with every word he spoke. They moved with so much delicacy, Percy never knew it was possible for a single person to just seem so... Perfect. 

"Percy? Are you listening to me?" Nico let go of Percy's hand and he instantly felt the crisp wind against his skin. 

"What? Oh, yeah! Ride, few more minutes, you're sorry and it's ok. As long as you're having a good time, we're good." 

Nico blushed slightly and focused his gaze on anything but the boy in front of him. "You're the one that's supposed to be having a good time," he muttered. "I invited you here." 

 Neither noticed the ride was slowly coming to a stop. 

"But I would still be ok with anything as long as you're the one having a good time," argued Percy.  

"Perce, that's not what we're here for," Nico said. "I rather you-" 

"Then why are we here for?" Percy asked a bit curiously. He wanted to know what Nico meant and not raise false hope. 

"Ride's over," grunted a new voice cutting off their small argument of sorts. 

They looked around and saw multiple other people walking away from the ride, and some newcomers strapping themselves to their new seats. 

"Well, damn," said Nico unbuckling his restraints. "You made it out alive," he told Percy with an amused look. 

"C' mon, Jackson," he stood up. "Unless you want to go again?" 

Percy immediately started unbuckling the thing. "Oh, hell no." 

He scrambled out of his seat and followed the shorter boy. "I am never riding that shit again," he paused for a moment before bumping Nico's shoulder. "Unless I have you with me." 

The dark-haired male blushed and looked away, attempting to let out a nonchalant chuckle. "That sounds pretty flirty, Jackson. Trust me, I would be the last person you would attempt flirting with," he gave Percy a shoulder-bump in return. 

"You sure about that?" 

Nico laughed. "Yes. Now c' mon. We still have a whole afternoon planned on mindless shit," he grabbed Percy's wrist and dragged him to the next ride. 

~ ~ ~  ~ ~ ~~ ~ ' ~~ TiMe SkIp' ~~ ' ~~ ~ ' ' ~

It was a little past seven in the afternoon and they had gone on multiple rides, eaten a fair amount of junk food each, and learned more about each other. They had decided on going on one last ride before calling in a day and heading back home. 

"What ride you wanna go on?" asked Percy. 

Nico shrugged and stifled a small yawn that went unnoticed by the tanned male.  

"Well, there's only one that we haven't been on yet," the dark-haired waved in the general direction of the giant Ferris wheel sitting at the edge of the fair. Although it was definitely not the tallest or most chaotic ride, it radiated its own light and aura that filled the air around it with comfort. 

Percy stiffened at the thought of riding that sort of ride with the shorter boy beside him. It wasn't that he was uncomfortable, but the exact opposite; and the fact that the sun was at its afternoon peak of going down, the sky was a canvas that would look even better with Nico's essence contrasting against it. Percy's cheeks grew warm as he looked away. 

'The cliche stuck at the top of the Ferris wheel'  He thought. 

"Yeah... sure. We'll go on that one and then call it a day." 

Nico stifled another yawn and let himself be dragged in the direction of the ride by the taller tanned boy. 

"You can sit on the right side if you want," said Percy still holding on to the half-awake boy. 

Nico mumbled a short response before stepping inside the box thingy as Percy climbed in after him. A few more minutes passed as everyone got settled in, and the ride finally got into motion. 

The ride creaked upwards one by one as the vibrant yellows, blues, pinks, and reds of the sky mingled together. There was silence in between the two boys; Percy, who didn't know what to say, and Nico who was fighting consciousness and couldn't focus on anything else.  

"You can't see a sunset like this back in Manhattan," said Percy trying to spark a conversation. 

"Hmm? Oh, yeah," another stifled yawn. "Guess too many buildings and pollution." 

Percy nodded, "We should really do something about that if we don't wanna die from the atmosphere collapsing from so many toxic fumes." 

Nico momentarily stirred from his dazed state and gave a weak smirk. "Oh, look. The boy actually has some smarts in that big head of his. That deserves a gold star." 

The tanned male looked in the other direction in playful embarrassment. 

"Stop, di Angelo," 

"Fine, fine." Nico stayed quiet and stared at the sunset. His sleepiness had come back and no amount of concentrating on something else was making it go away. 

"Hey, Neeks-" 

Nico gave a half-hearted glare at the nickname. 

Percy rolled his eyes. "Get over it, man. Anyways, I was gonna say-"

He was cut off by the sudden jerk of the ride-their cart stopping one before the very top, causing Nico to fall against the taller male, his head falling on Percy's lap. Both their eyes were wide in shock just staring at each other. The whole world other than them seemed to have slowed down. The only thing they noticed were the eyes of each other staring, their heads slowly pulling closer, eyes half closing, neither hearing the sudden cheers from the cart just above them. 

Their lips only inches apart, when the ride started back up and jerking them away from each other once again. 

Percy blinked. 

'We almost kissed.' 

'We almost KiSsEd.' 

'We almost kissed...'

His face grew warm as he looked away from the shorter boy who was also trying to figure out was had just happened. 

"Shit, I uh- that wasn't supposed to- I'm sorry I didn't mean to," stuttered out Percy still not able to look at the smaller male. 

The ride up was slow, but the ride down was faster than both of them could sense. In no time, they were climbing back out of their cart; there was a small crowd around a couple: The woman gushing over what seemed to be an engagement ring, and the man standing at the side with a grin plastered on his face, with several other men patting his back as he just opened the door to a new life. 

Both boys just stood there to the side gaping at the scene, both obviously still flustered of what had almost happened. 

"Well someone got their cliche proposal," muttered Nico, his hair covering his eyes and a thin smile outlined his lips. 

"Y-yeah." 

On the ride down, the beautiful sunset had slowly faded into an almost dark sky, leaving a few traces of pink and blue, along with an almost black. 

"Wanna head back now?" Percy asked. 

Nico nodded, taking a step forward but almost fell, the lightheaded feeling coming back. 

"Woah there," Percy rushed to his side. "You ok?" 

Nico gave a sleep nod, he already started nodding off. "Yeah... just a tiny bit tired," he gave a small giggle and stumbled. 

Percy slung one of the smaller boy's arms over top of his shoulder and wrapped an arm around Nico's waist. Shockwaves coursed through the small touch, sending warmth to Percy's cheeks all over again. 

"Give me your keys," said the tanned boy gently. "I'll drive." 

"But I invited you hereeee," whined Nico. "I gotta drive back." 

The dark-haired kept whining and protesting but gave up the keys nonetheless. Percy chuckled, unlocking the car once they got there and setting Nico down in the passenger seat as he rounded to the other side and slipped in behind the wheel. 

The tanned boy sat there for a few moments listening to Nico's mindless mumbles as he leaned against the window. "Fucking meds," muttered the sleepy boy before all that was left were soft snores coming from him. 

Percy sat there in silence staring at the now sleeping boy. The memory of Nico's lips almost on his graced his mind; his curiosity wanting to know what it would feel like. The way Nico's eyes shine and how he let's out small giggles like he just did.

"Oh shit," said Percy in realization. "I have a thing for Nico...."

His face heated again for maybe the tenth time that afternoon. All he wanted now was to see the boy next ti him awake, and to kiss him for real this time.

But it wasn't possible since he was probably out for the night.

I stead, he just sighed and turned the car key inside of the slot, and put the car in reverse, making the somewhat long trip back to Manhattan.

I started school and I have a major headache and ik I'm taking this at a fast pace. Or maybe I'm not. Idk. Please comment and tell me if it's going at a fast pace or not.
