the battle

Sage moved briskly to in the castle, the forcefield around Hogwarts was starting to break, people were crazy. Soon the death eaters would be in Hogwarts and the actual war would start. The snatchers were also there, running into school grounds.

A lot of Hogwarts had started on fire, including the quidditch pitch, and a few duels had broken out with the few death eaters that had made their way into Hogwarts. The place she had spent nearly the last 7 years of her life at, was getting destroyed.

The place where she met Seamus and Dean, where she fell in love with quidditch, where she had her first kiss. It was all gone.

She looked around with a heavy sigh she continued to walk the halls. That was until she heard a voice. "Sage Lupin."

It was behind him and she turned around. It was Elizabeth, with a wand pointed to her. "Elizabeth..." she said softly. Suddenly her legs were frozen in place, and she wanted to run from her. But she couldn't. She couldn't even move her hand to her wand. "What... are you doing."

She stared at Sage, a for a moment, Sage could see regret fly across Elizabeth's face. "Were on two different sides, what do you think?"

"You think so?" She asked.

"You're fighting for Hogwarts," she said. "I'm not."

She shook her head. "Elizabeth... please" she begged. "We were friends."

"Don't you get it! I was never your friend!" She snapped. "That was all a lie."

"How could you say that?" She asked. "We shared a dorm for nearly 6 years, you were my best friend. You, me, Seamus, and Dean. Come on Elizabeth. You know that wasn't a lie."

She lowered her wand slightly. "Sage," she said. "Just... go. I don't wanna hurt you."

She stared at her for a moment before, running off in the opposite direction. She didn't wanna leave her, but she would talk to her after the war, figure everything out.

She sighed and rushed up some steps, in a large crowd of other students. Everyone was panicked. She looked around, she spotted Dean and Seamus and rushed over to them. "Sage," Seamus said with relief, as he spotted the girl. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine... i just," she took a deep breath and sighed. "Elizabeth... she isn't dead. She's a death eater."

"What?" Seamus asked. "No way... I don't believe it."

"Neither do I..." she admitted. "But she was there, at the Malfoy Manor, and now she's in the school."

Seamus took a short, hesitant breath, as if he didn't believe the words spilling out of Sage's mouth. He just nodded. "Okay," was all he said.

She stared at her before looking at Dean. "Are you both alright?" She asked.

Dean nodded. "We're fine, and you?"

"Same here." She said. "Just... nervous about all of this."

He nodded again. "Everyone is." he said. "It's okay."

Sage sighed slightly and looked around. "I gotta go."

After leaving her two friends, Sage walked towards what was, the Gryffindor common room, and she took out some pieces of parchment and a quill she found. She started to write letters to the people she cared about, or the people that deserved to know the truth.

Just in case, she didn't make it. She was having doubts. But she wanted people to know the truth, about what happened to Dumbledore.

She sighed and looked around, once she finished. For some reason, she felt like she was stuck there. She was sucking in all the memories the common room held, before she went back out to hell.

Hogwarts was crumbling, down into a thousand pieces. The place she considered home.

She sighed for a moment as he eyes shifted around the halls. Suddenly, down the hall she saw Harry, Ron, and Hermione.

Hermione met her eyes and nearly looked relieved. "Sage," she said, getting the boys attention. Sage approached the three of them. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," she said and looked at Harry, who was biting his lip nervously. She frowned for a moment, before shaking her head.

"Why're you here?" He blurted out.

"Harry, don't be rude," Hermione scolded.

Harry shook his head and stared at Sage, before scoffing and shaking his head. "Never mind."

But Sage knew what he was talking about. Dumbledore. It was always about Dumbledore with him, but she couldn't blame him. He didn't know the truth, of why she did what she did. He wouldn't know until she knew it was safe to tell jinx

She sighed. "Do you guys need anything?" She asked.

"We're on our way to the Room Of Requirement," Ron explained. "To find a Horcrux."

Sage nodded slowly. "Do you need an extra hand?" she asked.

"We could definitely use one," Hermione said, looking at Harry who just nodded stiffly.

Sage walked to the Room of Requirement with Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Her eyes shifting around the area, she hadn't been to the room since her fifth year, for Dumbledore's Army.

As they entered the room was piled with piles of random clutter. "We have to find this bloody diadem," Ron mumbled, mostly to himself.

After awhile of walking and looking around, Harry stopped. "Look, up there," he pointed up, the other three glanced up to see what looked like it was the diadem.

"Accio diadem," Hermione said, the diadem flew to her hand, she handed it to Harry as he looked at it.

"How do you destroy it?" Sage asked.

Her question seemed to be shoved aside with the arrival of Draco, Blaise, and Goyle. "Well, well," Draco said, Sage quickly turned to look at him as she heard his voice. He didn't even make eye contact with her. "What brings you here, Potter?"

"I could ask you the same," Harry said.

"You have something of mine, and i'd like it back," Draco told him, the three boys had their wands raised at the other four.

"Well, what's wrong with the one you have?" Harry asked.

Draco sighed. "It's my mother's," he said, glancing at the wand. "It's powerful but it's not the same. It doesn't quite understand me. Know what I mean?"

"Why didn't you tell her?" Harry asked, Sage, Hermione, and Ron stayed quiet as they stood behind Harry. "Bellatrix. You knew it was me, you didn't say anything."

Goyle started whispering things to Draco, but Sage couldn't make it out.

"Expelliarmus!" Hermione suddenly yelled, disarming Draco.

"Avada Kedarva!" Goyle shouted, in Hermione's direction.

"Protego!" Hermione quickly defended herself.

Ron yelled before he started running, "That's my girlfriend you numpties!"

Moments later Ron came running back, a fire had erupted in the Room of Requirement. The group started running, the fire chasing behind them. Harry ended up throwing a forcefield around then.

This gave them the chance to gather some nearby brooms and mount them, Hermione and Ron sharing, Sage and Harry each having their own. They flew above the fire. "Come on, this way!" Ron yelled.

"Harry! What about the others?" Sage asked.

"We can't leave them!" Harry yelled back, as he looked behind them, seeing Draco and Blaise.

"He's joking right?" Ron questioned, looking behind him at Hermione. They turned around and started flying towards Draco and Blaise.

Ron shook his head. "If we die for them Harry, I'm going to kill you!" Ron yelled.

Harry caught Draco's hand and pulled him up onto his broom, Sage helped Blaise onto hers. They flew towards the exit to the Room, dodging the flames. They fell out and Ron quickly kicked the diadem into the room, destroying it.

Draco and Blaise had ran off and Sage sighed with relief, breathing heavily. She looked around for Draco, before she realized her was gone.

Hermione helped Sage up. "Thank you," she said quietly, glancing over at Harry. Her face was covered in soot from the fire. "You too Harry, thank you. For saving Draco."

Harry nodded slightly. "Yeah, you're welcome."

"I need to find Dean and Seamus," she said, sighing. "I'll see you soon."
