slughorn's party

Sage sat in her last class of the day, Arithmancy as she waited for class to be over. Seamus had agreed to go to Slughorn's party with her and Sage was excited about Christmas break. A lot was going on on the last day of school before break. She was just ready for a break and to see her father.

Their Professor released them and Sage walked with Seamus to the common room. "Thanks for doing this with me," she said as they walked.

Seamus shrugged, looking at her "It's no big deal," he said, "Plus honestly, it sounds pretty fun,"

Sage smiled at him "Well I hope you enjoy it," she said, "Slughorn can be a bit- odd,"

Seamus nodded "You sure Draco is okay with this?" Seamus asked.

"He said it was fine," she replied, "So he better be,"

A few hours later

Sage put on a silver skin-tight dress that sparkled. Her hair was curled and the front pieces were pinned in the back.

She met Seamus down in the common room, where he had been waiting for her. He was in a suit with a matching tie to her dress.

The two made their way to the party and when they walked in there was loud chatter and food was being served. "Drink?" Neville asked as he walked up to them.

Sage looked at him "Hey Neville," she said taking a drink "Yes, thank you,"

Seamus smiled and took a drink off the tray Neville was carrying and then Neville walked off to more people.

Sage glanced around the crowded area before Slughorn approached. "Hello Miss Lupin," he greeted.

Sage smiled slightly "Hello," she said, glancing at Seamus.

"Mr. Finnigan a pleasure to see you," Slughorn said, shaking Seamus's hand who didn't say anything. "Thought you would attend with Mr. Malfoy?"

"He's not the party type of person," Sage explained. "So I brought Seamus instead, friends since the first year,"

Slughorn nodded "Well thank you for coming," he told her before walking off.

Sage looked at Seamus "He annoys me," she said blankly, walking over to the food table and grabbing a plate.

Seamus followed her over and watched her as she put a few treats on her plate. "Dean invited me to America this summer. He said after the war you could come with us as well,"

Sage smiled "I would love that," she said, smiling. Before she could say anything else. Flinch opened the door quickly and pulled Draco in.

"Get your hands off me you filthy squib!" Draco hissed.

"Mr. Slughorn sir, I just discovered this boy, lurking in an upstairs corridor. He claims he's been invited to your party,"

Draco sighed "Okay! Okay! I was date crashing!" Draco defended, "Happy?"

Snape approached him "I'll escort him out," Snape said, staring at him. Filch released Draco.

"Certainly," Draco said, staring as well. "Professor," Draco and Snape walked out.

Slughorn began laughing "Alright everyone, carry on, carry on!" He exclaimed. All Sage's mind was on was Katie Bell. She was hexed a week or so again. Harry assumed it was Draco but she didn't believe it. Maybe it was.

The party lasted a few more hours before they were all released. Sage walked to the Gryffindor common room with Seamus. The two were chatting quietly until they were interrupted by Professor McGonagall.

"Miss Lupin?" She questioned, causing Sage to look up at her. "Professor Dumbledore would like to see you,"

Sage looked at Seamus "I'll be back later, okay?" She told him.

Seamus nodded and continued walking to the common room and Sage followed McGonagall to Professor Dumbledore's office.

When Sage walked in Dumbledore was sitting at his desk and escorted Professor McGonagall to wait outside for her. "Miss Lupin, come take a seat,"

Sage took a seat across from Professor Dumbledore "Did something happen?" She asked.

"No just news from Professor Snape," Dumbledore explained, "Voldemort knows you have interest in getting the mark no. There are eyes in Hogwarts that'll report back to him about what you say and do. Just be careful with what you say. When you help kill me, you will prove yourself to him and get the mark. Sage, you have to do it... it's the only way,"

Sage sighed, she didn't want to. She didn't want to kill someone or betray all her friends. But it was the only choice she had so she nodded "I know I'll do my best to do this... plan," she sounded hesitant but Dumbledore ignored it.

"Professor Snape will help you if you need anything," He explained, "Talk to him... or me,"

Sage just nodded along before he released her and McGonagall escorted her to the common room. This was a lot for her to take in. She would be helping Draco and Snape kill Dumbledore so she could be a spy for Hogwarts. None of her friends would know, if anyone caught her she would be deemed a traitor at Hogwarts.

She would lose everyone. But it was all for the better good... right?
