champions

A week passed and Sage continued doing tutoring with Draco, watching people put their names in the goblet and such.

She sat in the courtyard with Seamus and Dean on the fountain. Sage propped her legs up as she worked on some homework while Dean and Seamus chatted quietly.

"What are you working on?" Seamus asked.

"Uh potions," Sage answered. Potions were by far her worst subject, she still managed to do great at it, but she didn't struggle. She took the risk of writing back to Sirius.

She slipped a piece of parchment out and dipped her quill in ink.

Dear Sirius Black,

Hey, sorry it's been a while I haven't had time to write back to you yet. So far nothing interesting. But McGonagall asked me to tutor Malfoy, so that's what I've been doing. Kinda odd honestly. He helped me at the World Cup. It just amazes me I guess, he's hated me since the first year. Anyways I'm sure you've heard about the Tri-Wizard tournament. But cya at Christmas.

Sage smiled at her letter before folding it back into her book.

Sage smiled as she put her books back into her bag "We should probably make our way to the great hall," Sage suggested.

Seamus nodded "Alright. You coming Dean?" Seamus questioned.

Dean smiled and nodded, standing up with Seamus. "Coming," Dean said. The three walked to the great hall. They made their way over to Harry, Hermione, Ron and a few other Gryffindors Sage had befriended.

After about ten minutes of quiet chatting among students, Dumbledore walked out. The hall went quiet "You have had a week to put your name in the goblet of fire. Now it's time we decide our champions!" Dumbledore yelled.

The great hall burst into cheers, "Wooo!" People yelled.

Dumbledore shushed the hall again "First out a champion from Durmstrang!" Dumbledore yelled, a paper flew from the Goblet. Dumbledore grabbed a hold of it "Viktor Krum!"

Durmstrang arose in cheers as Viktor walked up to Dumbledore who shook his hand and Ron clapped loudly "That's gonna be interesting," Dean said to Seamus and Sage.

Sage nodded "Agreed," she said.

"Now for Beauxbatons champion!" Dumbledore yelled. Another paper flew out of the goblet and Dumbledore once again for and grabbed a hold of it "Miss. Fleur Delacour!"A blonde girl walked up to Dumbledore as her school cheered loudly. Fleur and Dumbledore shook hands she followed after Viktor into a back room. "And now for your Hogwarts champion!"

"Yeah!" Seamus cheered loudly. Sage clapped along with everyone else.

A paper again flew out and Dumbledore grabbed "Cedric Diggory!" Dumbledore yelled.

Cedric smiled widely as his friends patted him on the back. Sage had talked to Cedric a few times, but he was always nice. When she made the quidditch team in her second year as a chaser, he congratulated her. She took over the keeper position when Oliver Wood graduated. When Malfoy and his goons mocked her and her friends Cedric stood up for them. And then of course when they met again at the quidditch World Cup.

Cedric was an amazing quidditch player, he was a seeker for Hufflepuff, he was also hardworking, smart, and a great friend to all. Cedric walked up as people kept cheering, Dumbledore gave him a warm smile as they shook halls. "And there we have-" Dumbledore was cut off by the goblet exploding into flames as another paper came out. Dumbledore cautiously grabbed in. The hall was completely silent. "Harry Potter..."

Sage turned to a worrisome Harry who stood up but then ducked down. "Harry..." Hermione whispered.

"HARRY POTTER!" Dumbledore shrieked.

Harry stood still like a statue before Hermione pushed him up "Oh for goodness sakes!" She said. Harry looked around as he stood up, everyone giving him dirty looks and whispering about him.

When teachers rushed aback with Harry to discuss Sage spoke up "Do you think they'll make him compete?" She asked.

Ron sat there fuming and Hermione was worried "I hope not," Ginny said.

"He signed a binding magical contract when he or whoever put his name in," Hermione explained, "So even if he is underage and didn't put his name in, he'll have to compete,"

Sage sighed. She felt bad for Harry he always got taken into all these dangerous things. The hall had quiet whispers, most likely about Harry.

Sage looked over at Seamus who looked upset "What's wrong?" Sage asked.

"Y'know after everything Harry has been through," Seamus started, "You think he wouldn't want all this extra stuff in his life, but no he's just an attention-seeking-"

"Seamus!" Sage hissed, "Knock it off! We don't even know if he put his name in there!"

"Okay yeah someone out to get Harry at this school put his name in, the only person that would, would be Draco," Seamus argued.

Sage rolled her eyes "You're just being an asshole," Sage defended and leaned back against the wall, ignoring him now.

Seamus stared with disbelief before shaking his head and turning to Dean. She loved Seamus, but sometimes he misunderstood everything and assumed anything about anyone.

Dumbledore walked back out, "Everyone go to your commons," Dumbledore ordered. Harry walked out, a nervous look on his face. Before he joined the group of Gryffindors as they made their way to their common room.

Once they arrived Sage, with Hermione, walked up to the girls' dormitory. Hermione plopped onto her bed and Sage sat on hers that was next to Hermione's. "Looks like we're in for another fun-filled year," Sage said sarcastically.

"Yeah right," Hermione mumbled.

Sage sighed and laid down "By now I can't wait to graduate," Sage said.

"The more time that passes I'm more and more worried about Harry's safety," Hermione admitted, "Every year, he never gets a break. None of us do,"

Sage nodded "I know, hopefully, it'll be over soon," Sage mumbled, as the other girls that they shared a dorm with gathered in the room Sage smiled "Night Mione,"

Hermione smiled "Goodnight," she said.

Sage laid in bed, covering herself up. But she couldn't shake the fact of what happened with the goblet.
