Sage played with her food, pondering about everything that had happened. It had been 3 weeks since she kissed Draco and ended things with Cho. It seemed like the two were official again, but it was unclear as neither of them had said it.
Sage looked up at Seamus who was rambling on about something, probably Dean related. It was early in the morning, the first quidditch game this season tonight. Ron was the new keeper. He was down the table panicking about it all.
Sage caught Harry slipping Ron some liquid luck, to Hermione's annoyance.
Sage frowned and rolled her eyes. She didn't think it would help him, well it would, but not in the long shot.
Quidditch Fields
Sage took a seat by Seamus, Harry and Hermione were on her other side, Luna was also wearing a huge Lion head. Everyone was bundled up, it was snowing.
Slytherin came out first and the Slytherin's cheered as Gryffindor followed, cheering as well. Madam Hootch started the game.
Gryffindor ended up winning, Ron did great. After the game the Gryffindor gathered in the common room, cheering.
They were changing "Weasley is our King!"
Sage glances across the room, she saw Harry showing Hermione a full flask of Liquid Luck. So he never used it. Ron was actually good.
Suddenly Lavender Brown stepped up and kissed Ron, surprisingly he kissed her back. Everyone cheered for them, including Sage and Seamus.
Sage saw Hermione leave and Harry follows her, but she didn't think much of it. Ron was allowed to kiss whoever we wanted, even though it always seemed like he liked Hermione.
"I'll be back in a bit," Sage said loudly over the cheering to Seamus. She remembered she had to meet Dumbledore.
Dumbledore's Office
As she walked into Dumbledore's office, Snape was already standing there examining Dumbledore, bruised black hand. "Drink this, it'll help the curse to your hand, for the time being," Snape ordered, handing him something to drink, Dumbledore drank it sighing. "It'll spread Albus, a lot..."
Sage approached the two Professors "Maybe a year?" Dumbledore questioned, making Snape turn around, walking with nervousness. "Don't ignore me, Severus, we both know that Lord Voldemort has ordered the Malfoy boy to murder me. But should he fail? If so, the Dark Lord will turn to you, you must be the one to kill me, Severus and Sage, you must help. Draco trusts you more than anyone,"
Sage stepped back slightly "I-" she trailed off. "I can't,"
"It is the only way..." Dumbledore said quietly. "Only then will the Dark Lord trust you completely, both of you,"
"Why does he have to trust me?" Sage asked.
Dumbledore bit down on his lip, looking at Snape, "Sage... you have to get the mark. You have to make them all believe you want to kill me,"
Sage looked down, she knows she said she'd do anything to protect Draco... but never in her life expected to get the mark. "Okay..." she mumbled.
"There will come a time when Harry Potter must be told something. But you both must wait..." Dumbledore explained, "Until Voldemort is at his most vulnerable,"
Snape raised an eyebrow "Must be told what?" He questioned.
"On the night... that Voldemort went to Godric's Hollow to kill Harry, and Lily Potter casted herself between them," he explained, "The curse rebounded, and when that happened a part of Voldemort soul, latched itself onto the only living thing it could find. Harry himself. There's a reason Harry can speak with snakes, there's a reason he can look into Lord Voldemort's mind... apart of Voldemort lives inside him,"
Sage listened curiously, so Harry had to die? No matter what he would die? "So when the time comes... the boy must die?" Snape questioned.
"Yea," Dumbledore replied. "Yes... he must die,"
"But the prophecy... it said only one of them has to die?" Sage pointed out "W-why can't it be Voldemort?"
"Because of his soul, Miss Lupin. Voldemort's soul will still be in Harry if he lives and Voldemort dies," Dumbledore explained.
"You kept him alive so he could die at the proper moment," Snape said, "You've been raising him like a pig for slaughter!"
"Don't tell me now, you've grown to care for the boy?" Dumbledore asked.
Snape stared at Dumbledore for a moment "Expecto Patronum," he whispered. Snape's Patronus emerged from his wand... a doe.
Sage could remember Remus telling her that was Lily's Patronus. It flew around the room before leaving and Dumbledore turned quickly to Snape. "Lily," Dumbledore said quietly, "After all this time?"
Snape stared at Dumbledore "Always," he said blankly.
"So when the time comes the boy must die?" Sage asked, fiddling with her hands.
"Yes," Dumbledore repeated, "Lord Voldemort himself must do it... it is essential,"
Sage sighed, nodding slowly "And the mark?" She questioned. "Is my father okay with all this?"
Dumbledore sat down "We aren't telling him," He explained, "And you can't tell him... not until I'm dead,"
Sage nodded "How will I get it?" She asked, "I can't really just walk up and ask for it,"
"The next Death Eater meeting Voldemort hosts, Severus will mention you after and then when you help kill me, it'll all lock in place," Dumbledore explained.
So she had to help kill Dumbledore? And Harry had to die by Voldemort?
A/N:
Sorry for the long wait for this chapter. It's also probably not the best chapter. I had a rough spot and a whole lotta writers' block. But hopefully, I'll publish again soon :(. Again I'm so sorry.
