a kiss for heartbreak

Sage sat on the train, alone. She didn't wanna sit with Seamus or Dean, they'd probably ask about Draco the whole time or talk about Sirius and how horrible of a person he is. Sage suddenly heard a knock on the compartment, she turned to look either expecting Harry or her friends. But it was Cho. Cho Chang.

Sage smiled lightly and gave her a signal she was welcomed inside. Cho slid open the compartment door and sat across from the girls "I heard about what happened, I'm sorry," she said, smiling slightly.

"It's fine I don't really want to talk about it," Sage admitted as the Ravenclaw girl gave a comforting smile.

"I understand, I'm here because when Cedric died, you were the only person there for me," Cho admitted, "As you understood,"

"This is different, Cedric was," Sage said, before gulping, "Dead,"

Cho sighed "Still hurts doesn't it?" She asked. Sage nodded slowly "Exactly,"

Sage frowned and bit her lip "Thank you, Cho," she said quickly, leaning back into her seat, "Thank you, but I'm okay I promise,"

Cho smiled "Of course," she said sweetly, placing a comforting hand on Sage's knee.

Sage looked down at Cho's hand and felt... safe. When Sage looked up the two locked eyes and kissed quickly, but pulled back immediately.

Neither girl knew what came across them but it felt good. The girls kissed again but this time they didn't pull back. Cho cupped Sage's face gently.

It felt good. It felt safe. Sage didn't know what this meant. She and Draco just broke up and everyone knew that Cho wasn't over Cedric's death.

But it still happened they kissed. Before Sage knew it the two girls were laughing together.

Lupin Household

Sage opened the door as her father walked in behind her. Tonks was sitting on the couch reading. Sage took her bags up to her room and heard footsteps coming towards her bedroom. She looked over and saw her dad standing in the doorway. "Hey Sage," he greeted.

"Hey dad," Sage said as she put some clothes away. "What's up?"

Remus sighed and walked in sitting on her bed, "I wanted to talk so come here and take a seat," Remus told her.

"Okay?" Sage questioned and took a seat next to him.

He looked at her "I'm sorry about Sirius. I'm sorry I put you in so much danger," He said.

"Dad-" Sage started.

Remus shook his head, "No Sage," he interrupted, "You might not like this but I really don't want you going back to Hogwarts this year, Draco can visit holidays or whenever but it's too dangerous,"

"What!" Sage shrieked, "No dad you're kidding! I have to go back! All my friends are there. The Draco part doesn't matter to me anyways we broke up, I just have to be able to see my friends please! Plus how will I be able to work with Dumbledore's plan if I don't!"

Remus was taken aback by his daughter's sudden eruption, "Dumbledore's plan?" Remus questioned.

"He's afraid Draco will become a death eater," Sage explained carefully, "He wants me to help Draco at any costs,"

Remus was silent for a moment before sighing "Fine, you'll go back only because of his plan and if it doesn't work. You're are coming home deal?" Remus said.

Sage nodded "Fine," she said. "Are they holding anything for Sirius?"

Remus sighed and shook his head "No, they still think he's a murderer," Remus replied.

"Well can't we just tell them the truth now?" Sage asked.

Remus shook his head again, "It's too dangerous Sage," Remus admitted.

Sage leaned into her father who wrapped his arm around her. The two were silent for a minute. "Dad... y'know Sirius still loved you right?" Sage questioned, looking up at her dad.

"What?" Remus asked.

"Sirius, he loved you. In the way you love Tonks, he told me awhile ago," Sage explained, "He loved you a lot dad,"

Remus rubbed his eyes and smiled at Sage "I loved him to Sage, but it was too late. Our love was meant to stay in Hogwarts. We both knew after the death of all our friends besides Peter, who betrayed us, it was never gonna work," Remus admitted.

"There were more friends than the Potter's?" Sage asked.

Remus nodded, "Well y'know Alice and Frank Longbottom, who both had fate worse than death. There's Marlene and Dorca who were murdered. Sirius's brother Regulus died a few years after we graduated. Pandora Lovegood died. I guess Mary MacDonald and Emmeline Vance are left, but I haven't seen them in years."

Sage sighed "I'm sorry dad, I didn't realize there were so many people," Sage said quickly.

"That's just my graduation class, exception of Regulus, he was the year below us," Remus explained.

Sage sighed "I love you, dad," she said.

"I love you too," Remus replied, smiling.
