grimmauld place
Sage sat with Hermione and Ron in a room at grimmauld place when suddenly Harry burst into. They were there for some Order of the Phoenix thing.
Sage had spent the last few months of summer break listening to her father talk about Harry and spending as much time with Draco as she could, but now the fifth year was around the corner. "Oh, Harry!" Hermione said with relief before running and hugging her. "Are you alright? We've heard them talking about the dementor attack. You just tell us everything,"
"Let him breathe Hermione," Ron said.
Hermione sighed, "There's a hearing at the ministry, it's just outrageous, I've looked it up they completely can't expel you. It's completely unfair," Hermione explained.
"A lot is going around at the moment," Sage told him.
"So what is this place?" Harry asked.
"Headquarters, also known as Grimmauld Place," Sage answered.
"It's for the order of the Phoenix, a secret society. Dumbledore formed it back when you know who was first out," Hermione explained.
After some explaining to Harry about everything going on the twins appeared and proposed they go listen to the adults, so they left, but Sage dazed off. She hadn't followed them, there was so much going on it was hard to not just daze off.
But after finding out about her real parents it's like memories came flooding back into her mind, but who remembers stuff from when they were a year old. Suddenly the door opened and it was Sirius "Dinner's ready," he told her. Sage looked up quickly before getting up and following Sirius back downstairs. Everyone was gathering in the dining room and Sage sat across from her father and next to Harry.
Tonks was changing her face making Ginny laugh. Remus and Sirius were talking about the ministry. "I don't understand what the ministry has against me," Harry admitted.
"We'll find out soon enough," Remus said. Kingsley hands Harry the daily prophet which reads 'The boy who lies'.
"He's been attacking Dumbledore as well," Sirius told him, "Fudge is using all his power including his influence of The Daily Prophet too. Smear anyone who claims the dark lord has returned, why the minister thinks Dumbledore is after his job,"
"That's insane!" Harry proposed "No one in their right mind-"
"Exactly the point," Remus interrupted. "Fudge isn't in his right mind it's been twisted and warped by fear, now fear makes people do terrible things. The last time he gained power, nearly destroyed everything,"
"Well if the ministry doesn't believe the dark lord has returned, who do they think killed Cedric?" Sage asked.
Sirius leans forward "Some tragic accident," Sirius explained, "But the dark lord, he's after something he didn't have the first time,"
Sage looked at Harry who was confused, "What is that?" Harry asked.
"No way of knowing," Sirius responded.
Molly Weasley sighed "Enough of this, let's enjoy dinner," she demanded. Sirius nodded and Molly served dinner.
A few days later.
Sage was packing for Hogwarts in the room she was sharing with Ginny and Hermione. Hermione stood next to her "Excited to see Draco?" She teased.
Sage rolled her eyes, her cheeks turning red. "Shut up," she responded sheepishly.
Hermione chuckled, "Got my answer," Hermione joked, "Excited for quidditch?"
Sage nodded "More excited than ever," Sage said happily. Which was the truth, finally she would play again, she also got offered the quidditch captain position which she was excited about.
"I wonder who Hufflepuff's new seeker is," Hermione trailed off as she remembered what had happened, Sage's face dropped remembering Cedric.
Sage shook her head and plastered a fake smile across her face "Uh I don't know, we'll figure it out!" She exclaimed to stop her from crying.
"Sage I'm sorry- I didn't mean to it just slipped out," Hermione said quickly.
"It's fine Mione," Sage told her, "He's gone I'm gonna have to learn to accept it," Sage sighed and clipped her bag shut.
Hermione frowned and followed Sage downstairs. She missed Cedric, an incredible amount but what was she to do about it? She couldn't imagine how Cho felt, all she wanted to do was hug the Ravenclaw. But Harry's hearing went well, he wasn't expelled, he would be going back to Hogwarts.
Sage set her bag down by the door and walked to the dining room where nearly everyone was waiting. A lot had happened the past summer since Cedric died. Fleur Delacour started dating Bill Weasley, the eldest of the Weasley's, which was great for the both of them. Sage kept in touch with the friends she had made from the other schools, she spent a little while with Draco over the summer.
"Alright Sage let's get going," Remus ordered and Sage picked her bag back up and walked to the car with her father.
Remus drove Sage to King's Cross Station and the Weasley's pulled in next to them and then Mad-Eye and Harry.
As they walked to the platform a black dog ran by, Sirius. "Padfoot!" Mad-Eye hissed. Harry followed Sirius and Sage kept on walking.
As they gathered at platforms 9 and 3/4 they waited for Harry to come back.
"Sage?" A voice questioned which made Sage turn around and see Amos Diggory.
"Go on," Remus told her. Sage walked over to Amos.
She couldn't imagine his pain after losing Cedric, but what was he doing here? "Hello Mr. Diggory," Sage greeted.
"Amos please, but hello," he said, Sage smiled lightly at the man who sighed "I was hoping to find you here,"
"Is there something you needed?" She questioned, fiddling with her mother's necklace.
"Uh yes actually," Amos reached down and grabbed a small burgundy bag, "I think Cedric meant to give you this, for your birthday, but forgot about it and never got around to give it to you. We were going through his stuff and I found it,"
Amos's voice cracked as he mentioned his deceased son. Sage carefully took the bag which was written to her. "Thank you, Amos," Sage said and started to open the bag.
She first grabbed the letter.
Dear Clumsy,
—
As Sage walked down the corridor of Hogwarts, her nose in a book she ran into someone's bulky, strong chest, her book dropping from her hands. She looked up and it revealed a familiar face of a Hufflepuff student, Cedric Diggory. "Wow watch it clumsy," Cedric teased, picking up the girl's book and giving it back to her, "Alice and Wonderland, classic," Sage smiled at the dashing boy.
—
Happy birthday! I know it isn't much but I wanted to give you a little something for being an amazing friend. Also, you rock at quidditch, and cannot wait to see you play again next year. I'll always be better.
-Cedric A. Diggory
Sage smiled a few tears filling her eyes, she grabbed a small box from the bag which she opened and it had a bracelet in it. The bracelet had Gryffindor colored gems in it on a silver chain, her quidditch number as a charm on it. Her hand touched the charm and a vision of Cedric appeared.
'Happy Birthday!' The recorded Cedric said.
Amos smiled at the vision before hugging Sage who was heavily crying now. "He cared about you so much," Amos told her. "You were always so nice to him,"
Sage smiled wiping her face "Thank you, Amos," she said again, "I should probably get on the train,"
Amos nodded "Of course," he said politely, "Have a wonderful fifth year," Sage waved goodbye as she walked back to her father.
She wished her father goodbye before boarding the train.
