Laurance's POV:
I was annoyed still the next day about what Blaze told me. I decided to just go home until Garroth's work day was done so I can spend time with him later. Cadenza noticed this and huffed.
"You realize that pacing in our living room won't fix your boyfriend problems, right?", She asked, crossing her arms. Her long firey hair was up in a messy bun. She was working on fixing some cabinets in the kitchen for our parents. "Look, If this Blaze guy is bugging you, just...deal with it." I groaned and collapsed on the couch. "He was probably just messing with you anyway. Don't take it too seriously."
"But what if he isn't?"
"You honest to Irene think Garroth would cheat on you?", Cadenza asked me, raising her eyebrow. I shook my head and looked at my shoes in pity. She sighed and said; "Maybe Blaze does have a point though Laurance."
"Huh?", I asked, looking up at her.
She took a seat next to me and did that girly thing where she placed her elbow on the back of the couch and placed her head on her hand.
"I think you should think about going to the next level with Garroth,", She suggested. "Have either of you discussed that yet?"
"No...", I say, looking at her confused. "What level do you mean exactly?"
She looked at me like I was a lost cause and said;
"Engagement, Laurance. Buying a ring, getting on one knee and asking him to marry you. You two are grown men and have been dating for four years now. I'm sure you both are ready for a commitment like that."
"I don't know...we don't even have our own place yet. He doesn't have a job. We don't know the whole plan yet,", I explained to her. "Our future could be completely different."
"Well, there is one thing for sure,", She says, standing up.
"What?"
"That you two are bonded for the rest of eternity...even without a ring,", She smiled walking back to the kitchen.
I sighed and sat there, thinking. Maybe Blaze did have a point. We aren't going anywhere...maybe I should bring it up to Garroth. I felt my lips curve a bit, imagining putting a ring around his finger.
I looked at the clock and realized that I was running late with my meeting with Chad.
"I'm heading out Cad,", I shouted, heading out the front door.
"Don't go ring shopping without me!"
"Shut up!"

"There's nothing,", Chad huffed, tossing papers onto his desk. "Absolutely nothing."
"What have you checked?", I asked, looking to him.
"Almost everything,", He admitted, sitting down across from me again. "I think we might scan the documents of the students at Scaleswind University. Just to make sure. Yet, I highly doubt that it's anyone there."
"It's always good to check,", I say, leaning back in my chair. Slouching almost. "Anything you need me to do?"
"Continue what you're doing,", He instructed me. "Make sure he isn't doing anything irrational."
"Like what?"
"Getting drunk at a party or something which is something I highly doubt he'll ever do."
I chuckled, knowing he was right. Garroth's afraid of getting in trouble so he'll never do anything wrong in the slightest.
"Anything else you need me to do?", I ask.
"Not that I can think of...do you have an information that I need to know?", He looked at me funny, like I wasn't telling him something.
"No."
"You sure? You seem tense this afternoon. Is everything alright?", He asked me.
"Yeah...Garroth's roommate has been bothering me,", I admit. Chad only seemed to take it more seriously. He said; "Do you think he's a suspect?"
"N-No,", I immediately said. "He's just annoying. That's all."
"It's always good to check,", Chad said, mimicking me. "Now, go run off to your Sun. It's almost time he would get off work."
"Oh shoot! You're right!", I say, collecting my things. "Six weeks, right?"
"Make it four,", He said. "With this situation at hand, I want to check up with you more than usual."
I nodded and made a note to schedule a meeting before I left at the front desk. I thanked him and waved goodbye.

Garroth's POV:
Today was a "weird schedule" day, as the students like to call it. Friday and Monday are days they usually mix up their schedules so that their aren't as many classes on days where students probably aren't a hundred percent. They last up to ninety minutes. Friday is odd number period while Monday is even number periods. Some students enjoy it while others don't.
It was fifth period, the last period of the day. Mrs. Weldon has officially made me the permanent teacher of the class, she decided this morning. She wanted the time to grade things "correctly". I thought I was doing fine but, I guess not. So, she was in the history offices while I was in class teaching about the Cold War again.
"Okay, it says here that you all have a homework assignment,", I say, looking at the guide that Mrs. Weldon gave to me. The students groaned.
"Can we do it next week?", June asked. She wore bright pink eyeshadow today. "I have field hockey conditioning all weekend."
"I'm sorry everyone, this is something Mrs. Weldon really wants you to do. You just need to make a one pager about the Cold War,", I explained. I grabbed the rubrics and started handing them out. "If you want tips, my email is on the board."
"Are you giving out your email to people?"
I turned towards the voice and was shocked to see Laurance at the door of the classroom. He was acting like he was offended that I would ever allow such information to be given to my students.
"Next it's gonna be your phone number,", He added.
"Who's that?", One of the students asked.
"I'm his-"
"Friend!", I interrupted.
Laurance realized the situation and held back a laugh.
"Ouch...friend-zoned,", He said, now leaning against the door framed.
The class quietly giggled. Just then the bell rang. All the students bolted out of the classroom, ready for the weekend. I looked at Laurance who was still smirking at me.
"You know, if Mrs. Weldon caught you, I would've gotten in trouble,", I say, chuckling.
He came up to me and wrapped his arms around me before saying;
"I wouldn't let her."
"Laurance, she's basically my boss."
"Too bad."
I heard footsteps come down the hall and I pushed Laurance off of me before, Mrs. Weldon walked into the room. She just simply looked at Laurance and then, turned back to me. Acting like there wasn't another person in the room.
"I hope you have a good weekend, Mr. Ro'Meave,", She said. "But, I need you two grade a few things."
She handed me a folder and went back to her desk to grab her things.
"Have it done by Monday,", She said, not looking at me. Then, she left.
"...She's...a delight,", Laurance sarcastically said. He took one look at the folder though and groaned. "Does she realize that I've been missing out on boyfriend time because of this?"
"Laur, I understand that you don't necessarily like it-"
"I hate it."
"But, this is going to be my job after college,", Ignoring his statement. "Take this as a dip in the pool. We just need to get used to it."
"Is she always going to be around?", Laurance asked.
I shrugged and said;
"We'll see."
I started to gather my things together and when I shut my bag, Laurance took it for me.
"I'll take it for you. Now, where do you want to go for dinner?", He asked with smile.
"We'll go to your favorite place since we went to mine last time,", I said, which made him smile even more and punch the air in victory. I chuckled and took his hand as we walked out.

"So, how did the meeting with Chad go?", I asked, remembering Laurance had that today.
He stopped before taking a bite out of his taco and said; "Um...it was good."
I rolled my eyes and asked; "Really?"
"Yes..."
I raised an eyebrow to which he sighed and admitted; "No..."
I immediately softened my look and asked; "What happened?"
"Chad and his team couldn't find anything about the Flames or whatever. He says we still need to be careful."
I put my taco down and said; "Maybe the Flames aren't real. Maybe it's some prank or ridiculous joke."
"Maybe...how do we know for sure though?", I looked down with a frown and Laurance took my hand. "I just want you to be safe babe. I just need to know for sure instead of just assuming we're all clear."
"You're right. I'm worried about you though. You might be getting stressed about something that's not even a threat."
"It's my job to stress about these types of things,", He said, which didn't help me whatsoever. "You know I'm right."
"Just don't do anything stupid."
"Me? Stupid? Never,", Laurance joked, leaning back in his chair. "Besides, if anyone is going to do anything stupid, it's you."
"Oh really?", I smirked. "How so?"
"You're a college student,", He smirked back. "You will probably go off to some party and get drunk then, get yourself in a situation that I can't help you with because I won't be there."
"Yeah. I'm such a party animal,", I chuckled. "In all seriousness though, I'm scared about your safety. Since I'm going to be in a school half the time, I might not be there when something happens."
"That's what scares me,", He admitted. "You're going to be in a school, surrounded by staff and kids who probably also need protection."
"I highly doubt that something like that would happen,", I say. "They want us. Not anyone there."
"It could be someone in there,", Laurance trailed off. I thought about it and I realized he had a point in the statement. He saw my concern and said; "But don't worry. There's no evidence to prove that."
I sighed and said; "Let's change the topic."
"Sure."
"Mr. Ro'Meave!"
I almost jumped out of my seat, hearing my name so loudly. The whole restaurant went silent and everyone turned to who shouted. It was Layla and June. June was the one who shouted obviously while Layla had a huge blush of embarrassment on her face. As the people in the restaurant went back to their conversation, June tugged Layla towards us.
"I'm shocked to see you here,", She said, with Layla standing next to her. "Layla and I come here so often that we basically know everyone here."
"Well...I guess we finally ran into each other,", I say, smiling. Sure. I was a bit surprised that she shouted my name throughout the restaurant but, I don't mind.
"Also, I knew you two were dating! I saw you being all cute in the order line!", Now, I blushed in embarrassment, joining Layla. She laughed and said; "Now, don't be embarrassed about it! We think its freaking adorable!"
"Oh, I like her,", Laurance said, smirking at me while a blush was still prominent on my face. "What's your name, exactly?"
"June,", She said with a proud look on her face, being that she impressed Laurance to some extent.
"It's nice to meet you and I agree to the fact that Garroth over here shouldn't be embarrassed by this at all,", Laurance said, basically breaking all the teacher and student rules.
"How long have you two been together?", Layla asked, shyly.
"Four years,", Laurance said confidently. I really wanted to shut him up at that moment. They seemed shocked though to say the least but, didn't really want to go into it since they might think that's stepping a boundary.
"Also, Garroth? That's your first name?", June asked. "Not to be rude or anything but, did your parents hate you or something?"
"June!", Layla exclaimed.
"What? I'm just asking!"
I chuckled and said; "I actually have no idea."
We continued to make small talk and other things like that until Layla said;
"I think we need to grab a seat but, it was nice seeing you two. Sorry that we interrupted your time."
"It's fine. I'm glad we got to talk,", I say.
They smiled and waved goodbye as they grabbed a seat. Laurance and I decided to finish and head out. As we walked back to the car, Laurance asked;
"What period are they from again?"
"Fourth,", I answered, a little confused as to why he asked the question.
"I'm totally visiting every fourth period just to annoy the crap out of you,", He teased, wrapping his arm around my shoulder and pulling me in.
I rolled my eyes and kissed his cheek before saying;
"Whatever."
