Laurance's POV: 

"It's so good to see you dude!", Cloud exclaimed, giving me a hug. "It's been a while! How you've been?" 

"I'm doing pretty good,", I say, happy to see my friend. "How are you?" 

"I'm great! Got a job as a nurse and I'm in my own place as well,", He says. "How's Garroth?" 

"Good,", I say. Cadenza of course had to butt in once she closed the front door and said; "Better than good! It's perfect!" 

I rolled my eyes and said; "Cad's just excited." 

"About what?", Cloud chuckled. 

Before I can answer the question, Cad finished it for me; "They're getting engaged!" 

"Really? That's awesome!", Cloud said. 

"Thanks Cloud,", I say, a bit embarrassed by it all. 

"How about you two sit down and catch up? Laurance really should be off his leg,", Cadenza suggested. 

"Oh, of course,", Cloud said. 

I walked over to the kitchen on my crutches and Cadenza helped me sit down at the table for us all to chat. I asked Cloud more about his life, wanting to know everything. He told me about this story that two of his coworkers, Lief and Ava, who dropped a bin of hydration bags in the medical center after a huge argument where Ava sprayed one in Lief's face. This conversation reminded me why I became friends with him. He was always so positive and made everything a little more funny. 

"So, back to you Laurance, how far are you into this proposal process?", He asked. 

I blushed and said; "Not that far. I just decided to think about it a week ago. I haven't even asked his parents." 

"On it!", Cadenza shouted, running out of the kitchen. She shortly arrived back with my phone in her hand and said; "Facetime them! Now!" 

"W-What?", I stuttered, my nerves starting to rise at the thought of asking Garroth's parents. Mainly Garte...oh who am I kidding? Zianna can be equally as terrifying. 

"Come on Laurance!", Cloud smiled, getting in on the excitement. "You'll be able to get one of the most stressful parts of it done!" 

"I-I don't know guys...Garroth and I never really mentioned it ever to his parents. I don't want it to come out of the blue." 

Cadenza groaned and said; "They literally love you. What's so scary about it?" 

I guess she was right in that sense. I mean, I don't want them to be excited for something that probably won't happen for a while from now. A bunch of complications came to mind but, at the same time, part of me wanted to do it. Make myself do it so that I can take a step in the right direction. I took the phone from my sister and mumbled under my breath; "You owe me one." The two quietly cheered at their success. I went to my contacts and found Garte's number. I took a deep breath and said to them finally; "Can you both leave? Just for some privacy for a few minutes?"

They nodded and went to the living room to talk. I looked back at my phone and pressed the facetime option. It rang a few times, my heart skipping a beat every time. Soon, Zianna's face came onto the screen. 

"Oh hey Laurance! It's so good to see your face! How are you feeling?", She asked immediately. 

I chuckled and said; "I'm good. How are you Mrs. Ro'Meave?"

"How many times do I have to tell you that you can call me Mom? Mrs. Ro'Meave is way too formal for me,", She giggled. "I'm good as well though, thank you for asking. Is there something you called Garte for?" 

"Um...yeah. Are you both there? I have something I need to ask you,", I say, getting a little shy with my tone. 

"Yeah, we are. Is everything alright?", She asked. 

"Y-Yes! It's just something that I need permission for." 

Zianna looked to the left of her and moved her hand as if to motion someone over. Garte soon appeared into view as well. It was then I realized they were in the Livingroom of their home and they were probably sitting on the couch watching something on their television or something. Mr. Ro'Meave smiled and said; "Hey! What's up?" 

"U-Um...well, I just really need to ask you two something. A-And it's totally fine if you say no based on timing and everything else going on. It's just something that came to mind earlier and I've been thinking about it ever since-" 

"You can marry Garroth,", Garte said. I froze, not knowing how to process that. "If you want to, that is. It seems you have a lot on your mind there." 

"How did you-" 

"Oh please. Garte was all nervous like you are right now when he asked my parents if he could marry me,", Zianna huffed. "To be perfectly honest as well, no offense, but took you long enough don't you think?" 

I laughed awkwardly and said; "Sorry about that." 

"No problem,", Garte assured me. "We're just glad you finally got around to it." 

I smiled brightly, a weight lifted off my shoulders. "Thank you both so much. It means a lot." 

"We know how much you two love each other and how happy you make Garroth so, it was really no trouble. You really didn't have to ask if you wanted to,", Zianna smiled, her eyes sparkling through the camera. 

"Heh, thanks but, yeah. I do really love him and it would just feel weird if I didn't ask first." 

The two smiled at each other and then me. Garte said; "We're glad that you felt that way and we're both excited that you are going to be officially apart of the family." 

"Me too,", I say. "Well, I should let you two get back to whatever you were doing." 

"Oh, that's very sweet of you. We hope you have a good day!", Zianna said. 

"You too!", I waved and then hung up. I took a sigh of relief and I looked back to see Cadenza poking her head over the corner. I rolled my eyes and said; "They said yes." 

"Yes! Yes! Yes! Woohoooooooooo!", She screamed, running off to who knows where. Cloud came soon after, smiling at me. 

"I'm glad I came over today,", He smirked, crossing his arms. I smiled back and shook my head at my sister as she continued celebrating around the house.
