Chapter 9
AIDEN'S POV
My encounter with Sophia made me realize that maybe, I should stay away from her. She seemed like the most beautiful girl, with a smile that could light up the entire room. She was also innocent and pure and she had big dreams for the future. I didn't want to ruin that for her.
All my energy went in controlling my wolf, who wanted to run free and go kiss Sophia. I felt like all the buffaloes were creating a stampede in my head. I know what I needed. I needed alcohol.
I knew about a party happening not too far, that a senior girl was throwing. Even though most first-years weren't allowed, I knew I'd be let in cause, c'mon, I looked like a Greek God.
So, I took a nap and I started dreaming. This was the first time I'd slept, knowing who my mate was. So you know what I dreamt of. It was a very hot dream.
Then the alarm I had kept for 6:00 pm rang. I was so angry at the stupid phone for ruining my dream that I threw it against the wall. Shit.
The things Sophia makes me do! I got out of bed, put a shirt on and picked up the pieces of my broken phone. This was definitely irreparable.
I decided there was nothing else I could do, and that I would buy a new phone tomorrow. I mean, being the future alpha of the richest pack in the US, had to have some perks, right?
I decided to go for a run in my human form, since my wolf was getting restless and I needed some exercise to control it.
I started jogging in the campus, and I saw the red-haired girl, whom I'd seen with Sophia in the restaurant. I jogged up to her. She had two bite marks on the right side of her neck. She had a mate!
"Hello." I said.
"Oh, hey." She said unenthusiastically.
"Why did you decide to come to Harvard?" I asked.
"Because my mate died and I had nothing better to do." She said sadly. "You?"
I told her the truth, "Because I could not find my mate then, and I didn't have anything better to do."
"Isn't Sophia your mate?" She asked.
I sighed, "She is my mate."
"Isn't Sophia human?" She asked again
I regretfully said, "She is."
The girl said, "Good luck buddy," and jogged ahead.
