🔥Chapter 10: Mother🔥
I wrapped the bandages around (y/n)'s hand after cleaning the blood off. Mabel was exploring the room, trying to find anything that could help us get out.
(y/n) though..
She only stared at her hands as I wrapped the bandages around them, quiet, unmoving.
Her skin was cold, this often happened when she felt guilty, or in emotional pain. She'd never say it though, she didn't want us to worry.
Once I was done, I raised her hand to my lips, placing a soft kiss over her knuckles. It was a gesture she liked a lot, and it usually brought a giggle out of her.
This time it was more of a chuckle, a quiet one, but it counts. "How do you always manage to make me feel better..."
I couldn't help but smile, not letting go of her hand as I felt her warmth slowly returning. "I guess I just know you too well..."
She scooted over, sitting beside me before resting her head on my shoulder, and I snuggled against her head. Even if we were trapped in here, at least we were together again.
But.. hopefully we'll leave together as well..
"So I couldn't find anything helpful." Mabel explained as she walked back into view, holding a few things in her arms. "But maybe we can make something useful! I found some books, some metal, a box with wood- ... You have very strange things in your room, (y/n)."
There were a few seconds of silence before (y/n) walked over to her, taking a few of the pieces of wood out and turning them around. Sculpted into the wood were beautiful paintings of tropical paradises, galaxies, oceans, and more.
She sat on the edge of the bed, Mabel and I sitting on one side each as (y/n) stared at the logs.
"My mom made all these for me when I was a kid.. She loved art as much as she loved her family.."
My sister and I exchanged a glance, unsure whether to ask about the situation or not. We knew the topic of her mother was a sensitive one, considering she barely ever brought it up, and we didn't know anything about her.
Mabel gave me a small shrug before looking at her friend. "What was she like..?"
(y/n) didn't answer right away, though there was a small smile on her face when she began to talk. "Kind.. smart.. beautiful.. Always so supportive, and nice to everyone.. She did her best to help anyone that was going through a tough time.."
"She sounds a lot like you.." She chuckled a bit at my words, her cheeks a light pink.
Soon letting out a small sigh, her smile faded away a bit. "It was a strange relationship, but Bill was actually the one who fell for my mom.. She hid in a human shell, but she was a flame in spirit, literally.. And soon enough, I was born.."
"What happened to her..?"
"... I was six, technically alive for sixty six years, and she just.. ... disappeared..."
Mabel and I exchanged another glance, it was obvious this bothered her gravely. I gently placed my hand over hers, and she gave it a small grip.
"Bill never got over it, and neither of us know what happened to this day.. He's been really different ever since, doing everything in his power to take over the galaxy, and more.."
"Whoa.. We're so sorry that's happened.." Mabel wrapped her arms around her, giving her a hug.
A sad smile was on (y/n)'s face as she hugged her back. "It's alright, it's not your fault.."
I felt so bad, the pit in my stomach growing..
But there was nothing we could do..
...
Was there..?
