" I hate you so much."

" That's not what you said last night..." He whispered sexily. I growled in response, as I didn't have the energy to hurt him.

" If I forgot some of my clothes in that clearing, I'm going to hurt you."

" Baby, I love you." He whispered, almost ignoring the last statement.

" Damn right you do." I giggled. He pulled me into his grip for a hug.

" My mom probably made breakfast. So we should go and eat."

" Let's shower." He murmured.

I held him around his waist from behind. I leaned on his back.

" I'm still upset you left me when I thought I was human."

" When you were human was extremely different from right now. When you were human I attempted to treat you gently but I had my suspicions you weren't normal because of the interest Michael took in you. I kept myself hidden from you because at first I saw you as simple human. What would you know at the time of a demon's affairs?"

" You're right. But still. What was your favorite thing about me...when I was oblivious?"

" When you told me to get out because I couldn't express my love for you directly. You knew at the time it was me you would want if I simply confessed. But you refused to take 'yes, but no' as an answer."

" Yeah!" I laughed.

" And you?"

" Hmmm... when we woke up together and you whispered my name so softly. It made me feel like I had purpose."

" I didn't think it was that simple."

" Well at least now you know that much."

" When I thought you were human, I loved you a lot less."

" Figures." He laughed at my micro-crossness.

" What do you think will happen now that my father is back?"

" I'm not sure, not exactly. One thing's for sure: We can't trust Sapphire."

" Not to question you or anything but why?"

" She can be easily swayed by her father. also if I know Carter well, he won't want her back after this news. She'll stick around  just to gather intel and get back to her father."

" Makes sense. So we should just act like the lovely couple in gushy love?"

" Precisely."

" Well, we don't have to try too hard."

" That's  for sure." I chuckled that we'd have to mess around to get her off our backs. It was tiring, but well worth it. We stepped out of the shower and proceeded to dress together.

" I don't want to do anymore more parties. For some reason bad things happen. I think Satan let us off easy so we can lay low, but for what reason?" I mumbled, slipping off my towel and slipping on my undergarments.

" Very sensible connection and good question. My guess may be as good as yours, Cassandra." He sighed, putting on his jeans. I tried to come up with an answer, but I sadly couldn't. I was reaching for strands that may, in fact, not be there.

" Don't think too hard on it. As you suggested, let's have some breakfast, than we'll talk about it a little more." I nodded, putting on a plain black t-shirt. I strapped on some short overalls and my slippers. Joshua stepped a little closer to me, pulling my waist closer to him.

" What? What's up with the look?"

" You look so cute, Cassandra." He whispered fondly. I frowned, thinking he had something serious to tell me. He chuckled at me and lead me downstairs. Everyone looked a little bothered, which confused us.

" Carter's not here," My mother whispered. " He... he left."

"  What do you mean Carter left?"

" He was here last night with us as you know. But... we haven't found him all morning. I don't have that connection to him that you do. I was thinking you might be able to find him, along with Joshua's help." my father suggested. We thought about it and nodded.

" So the mission is to find Carter, can't be that hard."

" If Carter doesn't want to be found, it will take a lot of work trying to track him." I whispered. Joshua paused behind me.

" Why wouldn't he want to be found?'

" He has his reasons." I sighed, and began tracking.
