Carter-Chapter 65

I lie in bed.

That was all. The love of my life lie beside me and we just carried a very lazy conversation. Neither of us wanted to get out of bed, even though we both wanted breakfast.

" Babe, I want bacon." Jason mumbled, pouting " You should get up and get it than." I mumbled back. He whined loudly.

" Noooooooooo." He wailed. I sighed, shaking my head and rolled over to his side of the bed. I lie down on his chest and rest my head.

" Jason... How do you feel?" I asked gently.

"I'm grateful that I have you. And I love you." He whispered. I hugged his body to my own and held myself to him.

" Hey... I wanted to know if you'd marry me." My heart stopped. I didn't want him to feel bad... but this was awful timing. Than again, It was literally Jason.

" Yes." I whispered. His body jolted  as he stared at me." Wait, are you serious?"

" Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" I murmured. He sighed in relief. " I thought you would say later or some other day or just flat out no! I didn't even expect you to accept my proposal!" He was insanely surprised. I moved on top of him so that he faced me and I was bare on top of him. He was heavily flushed.

" Now baby, why would I not want to marry you?" I whispered seductively in his ear. I kissed his cheek and caressed his shoulder, making him want me more.

" Because... We did lose lots of time together. I thought you'd barely remember-" His lips were trapped under mine while I held him down and passionately kissed him." I could never forget you." I murmured. I stretched and got up. I kissed his lips one last time before heading downstairs. I ruffled my hair and washed my hands. I got fire started for his bacon after finishing his eggs, when the door broke. A young girl with bright green eyes stormed in. She was caught off guard at the fact that I was naked and very horny. To let off the tension, I shrugged my shoulders " You barged into my house." I mumbled. She heavily blushed.

" Ummm-erm... I may have-" Jason came downstairs, full clothed and looked at the door. He looked at the girl and his face drew into a scowl. She stood her ground and stared back fearlessly.

" Maya. Get out." He said sternly.

" No! Not until you tell me why you left and why he's naked in your kitchen!"

I interrupted " Okay, firstly this is our kitchen, secondly, you don't get to come into our kitchen and tell us what to do. Fair?" I stated. Her eyes burned with hatred at me.

" Baby, who is she?"

" My sister."  I looked back at her in surprise. She did look fairly similar to him and they were both slightly stubborn. I plated his bacon and toast and washed the dishes. I kissed him gently and left to put on clothes. I was blushing and I didn't even know why. It could be because of his kiss. Or because my privacy- our privacy had been very much invaded.

I put on black jeans and a plain white shirt. I wore his vans and his jean jacket to go over. I ran my fingers through my hair and ran downstairs.

" And who is he?" She shouted at him. My eyes glowed in anger. Nobody talked to him that way. Not even me. I warmed a muffin and some hot chocolate.

" He's my husband. Anything else?" He stated angrily at her. My heart thudded in my chest. I took my place next to him and took a bite of my muffin.

" Thank you, babe. It was delicious." I blushed and continued. She didn't like me at all. I tied my hair back and downed my cup.

" If you could decrease your volume, it would be much appreciated." I said strongly. I saw a gentle smile play on Jason's lips. It was adorable and just for me.

They were alike in many ways. They were upset and had been for a while it seemed. I loved him insanely. I hated when she talked at him how she thought was okay. It made me angry, but he told me to stay out of it. I respected him. She asked so many questions and I had only one: When the hell would she replace the door? Julia entered the kitchen, cleaning everything from top to bottom. She stood at my side. " Is there anything you need, Carter?" I shook my head.

" I am insanely horny though. It's literally unreal." She nodded in understanding. She stood there, very
Still. I lie my head on his arm. He was acting very distant right now.

" I love you."  I mumbled. He didn't even look at me. He didn't even respond back through me. I impatiently waited for him to pay attention to me.

" Hey, I'm gonna check on my niece, 'kay?" I asked, simply. He nodded. I grabbed my phone and ran upstairs. Tearing portal became progressively easier from the first few times I tried. It was exhausting at first, but now, it was like a second nature reaction. Daniel lie in his recliner, reading something. He looked at me and smiled. I playfully slapped his glasses off. His frown was a mix of confusion and disappointment. I placed his glasses back on his face and sat on the opposite leg of his recliner.

I sighed happily " Hey Daniel. Where's Blaise?" He fixed the glasses on his face " She goes to school with humans. She gets out at about 3:00." I huffed. I forgot she was human for a moment. I never felt that she was any different from the rest of our family. She was a lot like her mother. Just... Not a demon.

" Should I pick her up? It's 2:40-ish." Daniel shook his head.

" No. I bought her presents. I told her explicitly not to come earlier. Plus, she has the car."

" You trust her to drive?" He nodded, as if it were obvious. I hadn't seen her in a few months. It was about time for a visit. I was secretly scared for Blaise. She was so vulnerable, even though she has a little bit of demon to her. She did also have a clumsiness to her. She was just different all together. She wasn't all the way human, but nobody would vouch for me if I said she was a demon. She was way more human, but not human enough. She was a strange thing.

" Food?" Daniel asked. I shook my head but nodded afterward, thanking him. Daniel had some how become responsible for Blaise. I mentally tsked at my sister. She really was becoming something else.

I went out with Daniel to get ice cream for a bit. Daniel told me the taste was off. I shrugged. Human food was extremely low quality.

" We should be home a little time before Blaise is supposed to get home." He murmured through a mouth full of ice cream.

" So what was the gift?" He pushed his hair back and looked back at me.

" A car, new hair dye and tickets to see a show at the theatre."

My eyes widened in excitement.
" Sounds like something she'll love. She has had that gray side for a few now." Daniel nodded in agreement. She loved dye jobs and hair colors. She didn't like regular colors. She liked pastel hair colors. He had warned me she'd been depressed after she and her girlfriend had been forcibly broken up. My eyes dropped. That kind of depression was hard to come out of, And I had a record of it.

Daniel and I headed home in surprisingly perfect timing. She pulled up in the driveway as soon as I sat down. She entered and I almost wanted to hug her. A sad frown was carved on her. She didn't even seem to notice it like we did. Daniel engulfed her in his arms. She hugged back, but she seemed like an empty shell. Her arms kind of dangled and her hair just fell around her face kind of like wilted lettuce.

" Are you ready to see the presents I got you?" A small smile rose to her face
" You didn't have to." She mumbled. She waved at me. I came over and kissed her forehead. She chuckled and finally smiled. I almost missed her smile. We stepped into the backyard and Daniel tossed Blaise the keys to a Mustang convertible. Her eyes widened, speechless and was borderline unresponsive. She looked at us, still quite baffled. He took her by the hand and led her in, pulling her dyes out of the back seat. I saw her bliss at the dyes. He showed her the tickets and she looked amazed.

" Happy birthday, my love." He chuckled with open arms. Her eyes welled with tears. She probably had thought he forgot and in turn, forgot as well. She closed her eyes and her tears slipped out.

" Thank you." She whispered. She looked like she needed some good right now. She ran to hug me as well.

" I know she feels abandoned. I can't fail her." I looked up at him and back down at my her tender tear-stained face. I wiped away her tears and showered her in love and affection. Her giggles and smiles lit up my small heart. She held onto my arm. We walked back in the house and ate the cake Daniel had made for her. Daniel cut a neat slice while I fingered a wad of frosting and smacked it onto her face. She socked me in the arm, chuckling all the while. We were happy, for once.
