Tears filled my eyes, seeing Jason again. I shook uncontrollably, not once holding back. His sweet emerald eyes and full smile. Satan looked back at me.

" Had you told me sooner, I would've given him back sooner. I'll see you again soon." He murmured before leaving. Jason looked at me. Not in any specific way, he just kind of looked at me. He got closer and gently wiped my tears away from under my eyes.

" Carter." He whispered. I looked into his eyes.

" Stop crying." He finished. I tried to stop but... It was him. Had it been anyone other than him, I might not have cared so much. He realized I wouldn't stop and gently pulled me over to the bed. He sat me on his lap.

" It wouldn't be smart of me to ask how you feel. I know you've been horrible without me."

" Babe you have no idea. It was the worst. It was like.... Having one of my lungs collapsing. And all my organs flattened. And my heart broken. And-" He cut me short, because he kissed me, deeply. Just how I remembered his kisses. His hand moved to my waist and held me to him.

" I'm sorry baby. I don't know how I could repay the trouble I caused you while... I was deceased."

" Death is random, okay? There's no need to apologize" I mumbled. He chuckled at me and kissed me again. I loved every time he touched my body as he remembers, I easily got turned on.

" What happened while I was away? Who's the lucky guy?" He asked almost nervously. I looked up at him, confused.

" What do you mean?"

" You don't seem to be... As interested-"

" You want to know what happened while you were away? Pure agony. I considered self-obliteration. I couldn't control my emotions at all. I was stuck in my room most days, not allowing myself to see the light of day for months on end. Did you expect me to be ok with you DYING?" I asked. He sighed.

" Touché. Sorry." He whispered. A knock came through my door.

" Come." Julia opened the door. She held food on a platter and brought it to the table. I got up to hug her.

" Thanks Julia. Ummm, question. Have you heard any word from my dad?" Julia thought for a moment.

" He's on earth with his fiancé whom he plans to marry soon. Your mother is back with Satan because she was rude to Violet and purposely made her jealous.

" There was also the fact that he was sleeping with Teagan for a while after Joshua mediated them whilst sleeping with Violet when he wasn't with her.

" He's also sorting things out with his father for reasons unknown."

" Wow. And what of my nieces?"

Julia looked at me, worried " Do you really want to know?" I nodded.

" Blaise is out having sex with multiple girls while chasing around a particular vampire. Adelyn just had a child and is engaged to an Aiden- Blake, who happens to be the fate of past. Their son's name is Liam-Blake." I looked at her in complete shock.

" Wait... Adelyn is engaged already?" Julia nodded.

" Do you think-"

" Adelyn is deathly afraid of letting her father know that she's already in a serious relationship with a child and an engagement ring. I would keep this information a little low, if you cared about Adelyn's feelings at all. She's already traumatized from giving birth for the very first time recently." I acknowledged that as well.

" Well, my sister?"

" Actively engaging in intercourse with Joshua."

" Ok, good. " I sighed. " Hey, could you stick around for a while?" She nodded, and moved to sit at my desk.

She turned around " I see Jason is back. Welcome home."

" Thank you, Julia. Assisting Carter while I was away was generous of you." He acknowledged, getting up to pick some cheese from my plate.

" It's only why I'm here. I am a servant, after all."

I looked at her with a slight sadness because she was one of my favorite demons " But I love you! You're literally one of my favorite people. Imagine holding higher priority in my life than my mom. That's the kind of power you have over me. You literally-

" I love you too, Carter." She said genuinely. " My previous master honestly wasn't this kind." Her words touched me with sweetness and curiosity

" What-

Her eyes averted " I was her sex toy. Let's not discuss that."

" I value you more than that. You're a loving and caring woman, with a big heart and an even bigger capacity to love. You aren't what your body was used for." She gave me a small smile and got back to organizing my desk. Jason invasively kissed my cheek.

He chuckled lightly " You're still sweet."

" I've never just changed overnight."

" Are you going back?" He asked quietly.

" No. Not at all. I'm staying here. I think Daniel is staying to take care of Blaise. Cassandra and Joshua are kind of in limbo about it. Adelyn is definitely staying. I think my dad might take Violet to live with him here. Most of us are staying. " Jason nodded agreeing. I ate some of the food Julia brought me. I was thankful to her. Jason lie his head in my lap, staring up at my face.

I moved his hair away from his eyes and sighed. " I missed you." I whispered. It had been almost 2 years. Living without his comfort was almost suffocating.

" I couldn't miss you. Being dead as a demon... Is almost like being shut off. Like a robot, you know? I never really knew I was dead." I looked into his eyes, that held truth.

" That's... Fascinating. What if... sometimes we get shut off? Feeling like we've missed gaps in reality. When we feel like we've... Missed so much time " I paused and thought, " That we feel like we don't know our loved ones anymore. Or ourselves for that matter." Jason sat up, to peck my lips. I gently kissed back.

" That's an interesting thought. I never felt like I left you. It was almost like... Falling into a deep sleep. When you wake up, it feels only like the next morning. That's how I feel. Sometimes, I wonder if anything is real at all." I nodded, thinking similarly along those lines.

" It's like, the amount of time I spent without you... Without hearing your voice, your opinions, your laughter, your heart beat every night we lie in bed... Was almost deafening. And the most heartbreaking. I couldn't hear or feel or see you anymore. " I paused almost tearing " I was going through the worst things without you. Literally everything was falling apart."

" I hate that you had to be alone. I would have been there if I could, of course. You mean everything to me." He whispered, his eyes piercing through mine in an almost pained state.

" But love, you're here now. And I couldn't ask for anything more." I whispered, crying tears of joy.
