"Rún, do you know what my name, Shi Rui means?"
"Huh?" Rún looked curiously into the eyes of the other waiting for an answer.
"Shi Rui translated into English is Litmus..."
"Litmus?" Run's eyes instantly widened in surprise.
"Hm, Litmus. It is a dye obtained from certain lichens that is red under acid conditions and blue under alkaline conditions."
"Oh, that sounds amazing," Run said, smiling childishly.
"But it has another meaning too. It's a weapon or tool, "Shi Rui said sadly, he was always used as a tool by others, never truly seen for who he was.
"But I like the first meaning better," Run said, reaching out to hold Shi Rui's hand. "from now on, I will see you as Litmus, a powerful and versatile tool that can adapt to any situation." Shi Rui looked up at Rún, a glimmer of hope in his eyes.
"You are like Litmus, always changing and adapting to your surroundings, but still beautiful and unique in your way." Shi Rui looked at Run with tears in his eyes, feeling seen and understood by him was extremely good.
"Thank you, Run," he whispered, squeezing Run's hand tightly. "I will strive to be like Litmus, to be strong and adaptable, just like you see me."

Run smiled, feeling a warmth in his heart at Shi Rui's words. "Together, we can face any challenge that comes our way, just like Litmus changes color to indicate different levels. We are stronger together, Shi Rui." Rún said smiling tenderly when sounds that were sounding like steps of a big group of people approaching them got their attention and the two were ready to run but it was too late. They were too busy in their happy bubble world and they didn't notice the danger around them.

" Catch him, don't let him escape, he is a demon! " A group of people shouted and the rest ran towards them.
"STOP, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? YOU KNOW HE IS NOT THAT!" Rún shouted from all his lungs. Shi Rui was not a demon, he was just a Vampire, and he was a kind one. He never understood why those people hated him so much.
But it was too late, the crowd had already surrounded Shi Rui and were ready to attack. Rún knew he had to do something, he couldn't let them harm his man.

With a burst of energy, Rún pushed through the crowd and stood in front of Shi Rui, shielding him from the angry mob.

"He is not a demon! Leave him alone!" Rún shouted, his voice filled with determination.

The crowd hesitated, unsure of what to do. Rún's words seemed to have an impact on them, and some of them started to back away.

But there were still a few who were not convinced. They raised their weapons and prepared to attack.

Rún knew he had to act fast. With a quick movement, he summoned his magic and created a barrier around himself and Shi Rui, protecting them from the incoming attacks.

The crowd gasped in surprise, unsure of what to do next. Rún stood his ground, his eyes blazing with determination.

But then it was just a second and everything finished with a strike from behind, putting them both down.

As Rún lay on the ground, he felt a surge of pain and anger. He knew he had to protect Shi Rui at all costs. But it was too late.

"Shi Rui ... I'm sorry, it looks like I'm too weak to be your shield, wait for me... One day, I'll make sure to come back to you and protect you from these demons " Rún said smiling tenderly for the last time before closing his eyes for something that looked like forever because it took him three thousand years to be reborn and all that time Shi Rui tried to die so many times that he forgot to number.

Getting up from his chair, Shi Rui took a book from the table and hurried to the classroom where he was going to teach anatomy.
No, he was not late, but in the class where he was going to teach the anatomy class, there was his beloved, Rún.

As he entered the classroom, he couldn't help but smile at the sight of him. Rún was already there, setting up the projector for the lesson. He looked up and returned his smile, his eyes lighting up at the sight of him.

"Hey, teacher," he greeted him warmly.

"Hey, Rún," he replied, feeling a rush of happiness at being in his presence. He waited for this moment for years, and Rún is finally here.

After the class ended, Rún approached him with a smile. "Great lesson today, teacher. You are great as always ." Run said confidently showing him a thumb and Shi Rui felt like he couldn't handle it anymore, he wanted to hug the cutie in front of him.

"Thanks, Rún. Would you like to grab dinner with me tonight? I know this great place nearby." Shi Rui said trying his best to hide his excitement in front of that little guy whose eyes were shining as little stars.

"I would love to, teacher That sounds wonderful," Rún said smiling big, and the next second he was grabbed by his hand and dragged to the car leaving Run amazed looking at their intertwined hands.

If there was a way, the two thought it would be nice to have a way to stop the time and hold hands for more time, but soon they reached the car and they were obligated to let go.
