17- Flowey
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFudge you school.
Also, been very old school lately. Don't know why. Just been reading Dracula, watched Psycho the other night, and now these old school themed songs. Fun.
"Don't be stupid, (Y/N)! Please, help me fight Frisk!" Flowey pleaded. His eyes grew big, and you saw small pinpricks of tears in their corners.
"Well..." you hesitated.
"Come on, what do- uh oh!" Flowey gasped, ducking into the ground just before Frisk walked around the corner.
"Hey, (Y/N)," Frisk said, "you better now? I may need some help with the next fight. You know I m not as good without you."
"Um- sure. Just give me a bit to get up."
"Okay." Frisk walked off to the side, leaving you plenty of room to get up on your own. Painfully. Without helping.
Jackass, you thought to yourself as you struggled to get up, I have enough trouble moving normally, let alone when I'm in pain.
Luckily, it wasn't as bad as before. Now it only felt like you'd been run over with four trucks instead of five.
As you limped after Frisk, you noticed that they were acting a bit odd. More distracted, and they kept having to pause every few seconds to wait for you to catch up. Oh, wait- that last part was normal.
MTT Resort was bright and colorful, though you mostly noticed the fountain because you nearly fell in it. The Core in itself was rather warm, and the blue color helped calm and sloth your nerves. You got to where MTT was hiding in wait for you, and easily beat him together.
You kept limping forwards, and noticed something- a strange sense of dejá vu that meant either a glitch in the Matrix, or that Frisk had gone through this before and died. Probably the latter.
You took another elevator into a grey hallway. It was long and fairly ominous, and looked out on the empty City of Monsters. You weren't paying much attention, but Flowey kept popping up every so often to talk to Frisk. Probably trying to convince hem not to fight. A part of you agreed, and you realized that the bits of your brain and heart that had been locked in the closet had broken out.
You were snapped out of your thinking when you saw the house. It looked like Toriel's..... you felt tears begin to gather in the corner of your eyes. You found the keys, unlocked the gate, and continued down the stairs. You entered another hallway. There are a lot of hallways in the Underground, you noted.
This one was new. It was yellow, with pretty orange and yellow tiles in a checkerboard pattern. You saw Sans appear out of nowhere and confront Frisk. They started to fight, and Frisk died two seconds later.
You saw Frisk walk over to a pillar and confront Sans. He made a remark about them having died, and attacked again. They almost lasted three seconds.
Rinse and repeat, twenty times.
It took over thirty deaths for you to manage to jump in and try to hit him. You missed, and got stabbed in the arm with a bone. You hissed in pain, clutching it to hold the blood in.
"How ya doin', pet?" Sans asked, the grin gone from his face, "I hope you're happy. I never thought you'd turn out like this. Like... me. I thought you were better than that. Must be this human's influence, though possibly Boss's. Heh. Not like it matters."
"Shut up, idiot," Frisk snapped, taking a swipe at him.
Sans crumpled to the ground, clutching his chest. He coughed, and blood came out. Having been distracted by you, Frisk had managed to hit him. It didn't look like fun.
"Heh... heh... guess this is what I get... for bein' soft... just... snap outta it, ok, (Y/N)? I... really..... do.........."
He dissolved into dust. Frisk walked on, but you stayed. You stared at his jacket, which had been left behind. You picked it up.
Tears again. You didn't hold them back this time, as they were silent. You realized you missed him. Even if he had done the things he did to you, you knew it was for a good reason. He had thought you were under some kind of mind control, maybe. Or something like that. It didn't really matter now.
"You coming?" Frisk asked from up ahead.
Your face set into a determined expression. You had made a decision, and you would follow through with it. You nodded, getting up and following Frisk into the next room. You hardly noticed the pain or limp in your leg.
Asgore was sitting on his throne, waiting.
"So. You finally made it, did you?" He said in a deep, booming voice. You saw a large grin among the shadows on his face, "finally. Now it's my turn. You ready, weakling?" He stood up to his full height, tall and imposing, almost reaching the ceiling.
Frisk smiled. It was an odd smile, creepy and eerie. They adjusted their stance, and launched forwards, striking him down in one blow. You saw a look of shock on his face, just before he dissolved into dust.
"Quick, grab it!" Frisk said, shoving you forwards the soul.
"Hold on!"
"What? You have to grab it before it disappears!"
"I'm not grabbing it."
"What."
"This killing... its wrong!" You turned to face Frisk head on. "We shouldn't kill everyone! It's what they want! It's what Tal- Papyrus wanted! It's what Toriel didn't want! It's wrong!"
"It's the only way out!"
"We can find another way!"
"There ISN'T another way!"
"Then I'll stay stuck down here forever." As you said those words, Asgore's soul behind you dissolved into nothing.
"You idiot..... it was RIGHT THERE!" Frisk yelled, "we could've BOTH escaped! Now you'll be stuck down here alone forever!"
"No they won't!" A voice said, "because we won't let you leave! Plus, I-I'll be here, too."
It sounded like... Flowey?
