Idea taken from the episode "Bats!"

All the girls were at Sugarcube Corner together, Nightmare Night was coming up and they had a great plan...well, sort of.

Rainbow: What if we dress as bat ponies and chase after everypony! We'll be like "Roar!" And they'll be all "Oh no, we gotta get outta here!" And then-

Twilight: I don't think so, Rainbow, do you know what you call that?

Rainbow: Bringing Nightmare Night to life?! *smirks*

Twilight: No, being obnoxious.

Rainbow: Oh come on, for once in your life, can you at least try to have fun instead of avoiding it?!

Twilight: I don't avoid fun! *puts Spike on her head* See? Fun!

Spike: *slides off her head* Yeah, that was the time of my life...

Rarity: Honestly, we should make a new set of costumes for Nightmare Night!

Rainbow: But I like my costumes...

Pinkie: No! We need new baked goods! How do you ponies feel about-wait for it...SPIDER COOKIES!!!!

Rainbow: What the-Ew!

Applejack rolled her eyes, all the fighting was getting to her head.

Applejack: While y'all are busy fighting, I'm gonna finish my chores.

Rainbow: I'm going with you!

Twilight: Since when were you interested in chores?

Rainbow: Since now, okay? Bye!

Twilight: Okay...

Rainbow Dash quickly followed Applejack to her barn, she was determined to avoid that fight she and the girls had. Which wasn't very fun.

Rainbow: Okay, first chore!

Applejack: Um, are you alright?

Rainbow: Never better! Now let's get started!

Applejack looked at Rainbow Dash with a confused look. But suddenly, she felt something bite her right in the neck.

Applejack: Ow! *rubs her neck*

Rainbow: You okay?!

Applejack: I'm okay, it was probably nothin'

Rainbow Dash noticed bats flying around the orchard, that bite was clearly something.

Rainbow: You sure it was nothing?

Applejack: It probably was nothing, I dunno, sugarcube.

Neither one of them thought too hard about it the rest of the day, but is it normal for a vampire bat to bite a pony? Probably not, something could be wrong. Later that night however, Applejack had a strange dream, she was standing in the middle of her family's orchards watching bats devour her precious apples, she couldn't even move from where she was standing, it was like she was glued to the ground. She cowered as the bats all charged at her. She suddenly woke up, she was sweating a lot and the bite on her neck was becoming irritated.

Rainbow Dash was the first to notice Applejack's new behavior the next day, Applejack wasn't her regular energetic self. In fact, she was barely awake that morning.

Rainbow: Um...Applejack? Did you sleep well?

Applejack: Wha-huh? Did you say something, Rainbow?

Rainbow: Uh, yeah I did. Did you even sleep last night?

Applejack rubbed her tired eyes, she was pretty delirious and her eyes were playing tricks on her.

Rainbow: Applejack!

Applejack: Huh...?

Applejack turned her attention to Rainbow Dash.

Rainbow: Do you...feel okay?

Applejack shook her head and walked away.

Applejack: Don't any of you three to worry none, I'm just fine and dandy...

Rainbow: You three? Okay, it's official, you're out of your mind.

Applejack: No I ain't...!

Applejack started bucking apples weakly.

Rainbow: Okay, I'll ask again. Did you sleep last night?!

Applejack: Guess not, sugarcube...I couldn't fall asleep...

Rainbow Dash noticed the irritated bite on Applejack's neck. Pretty soon, Applejack started to doze off. Rainbow Dash gave up and flew off.

That night, everpony was at a sleepover at Sugarcube Corner, Rainbow Dash noticed Applejack having issues trying to sleep, even though it was a very quiet night. Which was odd because Applejack was usually a heavy sleeper. She also noticed that she was wide awake compared to that morning.

Rainbow: Um...Applejack, do you wanna sleep with me?

But Applejack didn't say anything, Rainbow Dash shined her flashlight in her face to get her attention. Applejack immediately hid under her sleeping bag and shrieked.

Applejack: Turn it off! Turn it off!

Rainbow Dash was confused, was Applejack just cranky from her lack of sleep? That could've been the case, but she didn't seem very bothered by it.

Things got a bit stranger when Rainbow Dash saw the sun rising, Applejack was sleeping like a filly, she was normally up early for things such as chores or looking after the farm, she never slept in, never. Rainbow Dash gently shook Twilight waking her up.

Rainbow: Twilight

Twilight: Huh...?

Rainbow: I think something might be wrong with Applejack.

Twilight: Why...?

Rainbow: I think she's turning into a vampire pony.

Twilight: Rainbow, that's crazy...

Rainbow: But it happened to Fluttershy last time. Applejack's developing these weird new behaviors, she's not herself.

Twilight: Rainbow, I think you're reading too many pony tales, that never happens in real life.

Rainbow: But it is, I'm not kidding, she's turning into a vampire! Or...vampony!

But Twilight still didn't believe her, Rainbow Dash was bummed and annoyed. Sure, she has told a lie or two, but this was for real.

At first, Rainbow Dash thought that maybe she was just out of her mind and maybe stressed out about that bite. But when a full moon came, things got serious. Rainbow Dash was sleeping at her cloud home when she heard a crash. She woke up and saw Pinkie laying on the floor all dizzy and lightheaded.

Rainbow: Pinkie?! What the hay! How'd you get here!

Pinkie: Not important! Come to Sweet Apple Acres right now!

Rainbow: Ugh...did you find another rare apple that tasted like peanut butter?

Pinkie: No, silly! C'mon!

Reluctantly, Rainbow Dash grabbed Pinkie and flew to Sweet Apple Acres, she saw all her friends there in complete shock.

Rainbow: Guys, what's going on?

Fluttershy: Look!

Rainbow Dash gasped at the horrible sight, Applejack was hanging on a tree branch upside down. And she was a vampire!

Rainbow: A-Applejack?

Applejack screeched and flew off, they were all in complete shock.

Rainbow: I told you she was turning into a vampony! But none of you listened!

Twilight: Rainbow, no need to rub it in!

Rarity: Honestly, do you ever do anything but hog the glory?!

Rainbow: Sorry...

Twilight: Ugh...I'll go look through my books.

Rainbow: We have a vampony on the loose and all you can think about is reading?!

Twilight: I'm looking for a counter spell!

Rainbow: Oh, okay

Twilight rolled her eyes and continued searching through her books. Rainbow Dash used this moment as an advantage and flew after Applejack.

Rainbow: Applejack! Snap out of it! It's me, Rainbow Dash, one of your best friends!

She flew right in front of her.

Rainbow: Remember that time I switched your apple cider with orange juice?

Applejack screeched and flew right past her. Rainbow Dash continued flying after her trying to snap her out of this new trance.

Rainbow: Okay, you probably still hate me for that. What about that time I colored on your face while you were sleeping and it took you three days to wash the paint off!

That didn't do anything other than make Applejack screech again.

Rainbow: Forget I said that, what about that time we got lost at that creepy castle when we were trying to determine who was the bravest?!

But this time, Applejack knocked Rainbow Dash out of the sky and she fell to the ground. Rainbow Dash shook her head and got up.

Rainbow: Okay, she's not gonna be easy to catch.

Twilight: Found one!

Rainbow: Found what?

Twilight: I found a counter spell that'll turn Applejack back! But...

Rainbow: But?!

Twilight: It has to be done before sunrise otherwise the spell will become permanent.

Rainbow: What?! You mean if we don't do this now, we'll lose Applejack forever?!

Twilight: I guess so.

Rainbow: Oh perfect, just perfect! She's impossible to catch! How are we gonna do that?!

Twilight: Well, I could cast a spell that could-

Rainbow: No! No magic! I'll go over there and catch her Rainbow Dash style!

Some time passed, Applejack was hanging upside down on another tree, grabbing whatever apple she could find. When Rainbow Dash spotted her, she got her attention.

Rainbow: Hey Applejack! Remember me?! Come and get me!

Seeing Rainbow Dash, Applejack flew after her, Rainbow Dash led her to a certain direction.

Rainbow: Catch me if you can!

That made Applejack angry and she flew faster after her. Seeing her friends, Rainbow Dash flew over to them.

Rainbow: Pinkie! Fluttershy! Now!

Pinkie and Fluttershy both pulled a rope, trapping Applejack in a hoofmade cage, Applejack sneered at the girls and hissed.

Fluttershy: I can't believe that worked!

Rainbow: Sorry, Apples, it's just until we cure you. Now hurry up, Twilight! The sun's about to rise!

Twilight nodded and performed the spell changing Applejack back to herself (Same way she changed Fluttershy back). She gently put Applejack down with her magic. The girls smiled when she came to.

Applejack: Ugh...what just happened...?

Pinkie: You turned into a vam-

Rainbow Dash quickly covered Pinkie's mouth.

Rainbow: Ignore her, she's a little too Pinkie today.

Applejack got up and rubbed her forehead.

Rainbow: Um...AJ, are you okay?

Applejack: I'm fine, why?

Rainbow: Oh um...just wondering.
