(~Your POV + Time Skip A Day Or Two~)
Earlier, I found a rock on the floor, tucked in the corner of the room. It's not big, maybe a piece of rubble that fell off the walls at some point. For the longest time, I've been scraping it against the floor, carving a point on one side of it. I pause and feel around it.
'A little more.'
I place it back on the floor, scraping it back and forth again. Sans has been sleeping most of the time, I don't object. I still make sure to wake him up occasionally, then ask simple questions like..
"How many soul colors are there?"
"What type of monster are you?"
"How many fingers does a person have?"
"What town do you live in?"
"What's your brother's name?"
He's pretty annoyed at it by this point, especially since I know the answer to all those questions. Yet, he'll kinda grudgingly answer anyway. Both of us understand that with his concussion, the only way we can make sure he's ok is to keep him talking. If he fails to answer a question that's so familiar to him, it's like an alert to tell us that something is wrong.
We haven't had any problems so far so I'm pretty sure he'll recover. The headaches are his worst enemy right now. It'll make Sans sensitive to any sort of sounds, quiet or loud. Razz will wake up, immediately his migraines get worse.
Speaking of Sans, I noticed the blue glow to the side of my vision. He moves, growling, "Do you REALLY have to keep doing that?.." I reply, "If you have a better idea, go ahead. It would be so helpful if you could teleport us out of here or something." I continue to carve the rock, ignoring him.
"First of all, I can't teleport. My brother is the only one who gained that ability. Second, DO I LOOK like I can use magic right now? Third, even if I had the energy to do so, these chains prevent me from doing anything. It's made from a special type of metal, invented by the royal scientist Undyne, to cancel out magic. We use it for all the prisoners that come here." Sans sits up, grabbing at his head.
Razz doesn't have a ball and chain like me. His chains are clasped around his wrists and a large one is tightly wrapped around his neck. The chains are very short, the ends are bolted into the wall. He's only able to sit and lay down in one spot, not much freedom to move at all.
I feel bad. I've been able to move around a little, although these shackles are very uncomfortable. They know how powerful Sans is, so they're keeping him restricted as much as possible. To add to that, Sans is beaten up pretty bad so he barely moves.
I check on my little pointed rock, it's sharp to the touch.
'YES! This'll work!'
I feel around my handcuffs, looking for a lock. The chain links are definitely making a lot of noise, which aggravates Sans. He shouts, "COULD YOU KEEP STILL? WhAt ArE YOu EVen DoINg?!"
I fuss, "I'm sorry, okay?! I know your head hurts but you need to let me focus!" He looks in my direction. Razz' pupils are glowing brightly, lighting up the area around us. It's not the brightest light but I'm able to find the lock to my handcuffs, I start to work on it with my makeshift lock pick. Sans notices, surprised, "Where did you get that?" Staying focused on my task, I mutter, "I made it. You slept through most of the process already. By the way, good morning."
I listen carefully, moving my pick around all the gears. I haven't unlocked handcuffs before, but it should have the same concept as a lock you can buy at any convenience store. The shackle unlocks, falling onto the ground. My arms are free.
I squeal, so proud of myself, "YES! HA- IN YOUR FACE!" Sans smiles, "So you're the rat that keeps breaking into my stuff." I giggle, definitely guilty, "I thought the locks on your doors were more of your puzzles." He scoffs, "You are such a liar." "What?! I was hungry! Ya think I wanna sit around all day waiting for food?" I start laughing.
I work on getting the ball and chain off my foot, the lock is different so I have to concentrate more on that one.
(~Time Skip~)
Razz teases, "So much for your lock picking skills." I answer sarcastically, "Forgive me, I've never had to break out of jail before."
'This one is difficult... the pick is going to break..'
Sans suddenly goes into alert mode, looking in another direction, "Someone's coming."
'Dang it!'
I push myself into the corner, hiding my arms and the unlocked chains behind my back. A large door unlocks and Alphys steps in, a torch in her hand. This is the first time I've seen any type of light in forever. She finds a metal hook on the wall, placing her torch on it. I narrow my gaze, the flame's bright light hurting my eyes. Pretty much the whole room is lit up.
Sans says with a crystal clear, thick case of attitude, "Welcome to our humble abode. Please make yourself comfortable. Can I get you something to drink?" I'm close to busting out laughing already. Alphys scolds him, "You have no right to speak with that confident ego of yours. You disgrace yourself and all monster kind, getting along with a human girl. Don't tell me it was for your own personal pleasure."
Sans looks disgusted and I can't hold back my laughter, "ACTUALLY- The mutt is mine, this ankle biter just came with him." I laugh harder, wheezing after a few seconds. Sans, actually starts laughing with me, while also fussing, "I sWEaR WheN I gEt OUt of ThESe chAins!-"
Alphys is annoyed that we decided to ignore her, she slams her fist into the wall. The room seems to shake and dust falls from the ceiling. I try to contain myself, looking down at my lap. The angered captain storms up to Sans, "An outcast sitting in chains and you still test me!"
I flinch when I hear a small clicking noise.
'Oh my god.. The cuff on my leg just unlocked.... NOW OF ALL TIMES?!'
The pick must of clicked something loose or whatever, but it's horribly timed. Sans heard it too. I could tell from how his expression changed to 'you've gotta be kidding me'. Razz doesn't look towards me, so as not to draw attention to me. Instead, he provokes Alphys more, "Oh come on Alphys. You should wait and be patient like me, then you'll get your turn." I hurriedly but quietly get the cuff from off my leg.
'Now what?! This punk is in the room so I can't free Sans.'
"STOP PRETENDING YOU'RE SO ADMIRABLE!" Alphys roared, Sans hitting her last nerve already. He shouts at her, his pupils flame up, "YOU ARE NO BETTER! WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ONCE THE QUEEN TAKES OVER?! START ANOTHER WAR! THAT'S REALLY WHAT YOU WANT?! THE POPULATION WILL BE KILLED OFF AND THE QUEEN WILL MAKE A SCALY RUG FOR HERSELF ONCE SHE'S DONE WITH YOU!"
Alphys swings her tail back, her long fangs showing fully, "I'VE HAD IT WITH YOU!"
'She's going to hit him!'
Knowing how badly he's hurt, I can't handle seeing him take another blow. Out of pure instinct, I jump up and shove my body into her's, "Leave him alone!" Sans' pupils shrink as he screams out, "Y/N!!" Before I could do anything else, Alphys replanted her footing, her claws grip around my throat. Within a second, I felt myself slam into the wall, being held by the neck. Alphys' attention is on me, her death glare is enough to turn anyone to stone.
'I can't breathe.!'
I struggle to get any sort of footing. She's holding me at least 1 or 2 feet off the ground, "How are you loose...? You really want to do this the hard way." I'm already winded from hitting the wall.
'I can't do anything!'
I desperately pull at her claws but her grip only grows tighter. In terms of strength, it's 100% clear she has the advantage.
'What was I thinking?! Demanding the blazing-furious, trained royal guard to stop. Like that was supposed to make a difference?!'
I can hear Sans screaming desperately in the background. I can't comprehend anything besides the fact that I'm about to die. Every time I manage to get a tiny breath, she pushes harder against my throat. All that comes out of my mouth is coughing and squeaks. After enduring the torture for what felt like forever, with no oxygen, my body gives in. I completely lose my grip, my arms falling by my side as my vision starts to blur.
'Help..! Somebody..... please..'
A deep feminine voice commands in a firm tone, "Let her go." Alphys hesitates, having the fiercest expression of bloodlust. The voice speaks again, "Alphys, your Queen commands it!" After that, Alphys drops me, "Pardon me, your majesty."
I let out harsh coughing and heave in large gasps of air, laying motionless on the floor. Sans struggles with his restraints, screaming at Alphys and someone else, "YOU FREAKING MANIACS! THE HUMAN DOESN'T HAVE A SOUL!" I hear him worriedly screaming for me to get up, but my body doesn't want to move.
'There's another monster here. The Queen.'
The furious goat monster, dressed with her own unique design of armor and a torn cape, stands in the doorway, giving Alphys a glare. Alphys bows to her, "Forgive me.. I was unaware she was needed alive."
The Queen walks past, shutting Alphys out of her mind. First, she walks up to Sans, "Would you like to repeat those accusations to me?" Sans looks down, ultimately showing submission and shame right away.
'Wow, and I thought Sans couldn't be tamed.'
She roughly grabs Sans by the arm, lifting him up, "ANSWER YOUR QUEEN!" Razz looks down at the floor, trembling, but not saying a single word. I weakly try to lift myself up, "Stop it." I scream when I feel a foot dig into my lower back, forcing me back to the ground. Alphys is there, she growls, "Stay down..!" I whine, wanting this whole nightmare to end.
Sans repeats himself but quieter, "She doesn't have a soul. Your plan WON'T work." The Queen harshly drops him, "I refuse to believe your lies. I cared for you like my own son and THIS... THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!"
I tell her, "Now I'm positive, you never had the intention of bringing me home." The Queen turns to me, Sans gives me a glare that basically says I should keep my mouth shut.
"Young one, you have driven divisions into my kingdom. Made my subjects believe that breaking their loyalties to me is acceptable. I, however, am a woman of my word. I WILL be taking you to the surface. Or at least, I'll be taking your soul to the surface, once I absorb it and break the barrier." She says, showing rarely any emotion. Looking to Alphys, she says, "Take her to Undyne. Housing them together has already caused us enough trouble. I want her soul extracted immediately."
'CRAP!'
Alphys has a wicked smile on her face, "Wise decision, my Queen." She harshly grabs me with her tail, almost squeezing the life out of me.
'No! This can't be happening! CRAP! NO NO NO NO-'
Sans' eyes go wide as he shouts, "I'M SERIOUS! DON'T HURT HER!!! SHE'S NOT THE ONE YOU NEED-" He receives a blunt slap from the angered Queen, "You have said enough! You should choose your last words more wisely."
I desperately struggle, cry, and scream, "LET GO! I DON'T WANT TO GO! STOP IT! SANS HELP ME-" The tip of Alphys' tail covers over my mouth, she teases, "Aww, what happened to the cocky attitude you had before? You both are getting the punishment you deserve. Undyne is gonna love playing with you."
Sans' panic starts to set in. With the chains still on him, he is absolutely powerless.
'I love Papyrus, I wish I could spend all of my time with him. Sans knows that. Is this the last time I'll see them....? Am I really going to die here?!'
I never should've left that freaking house! I should've done things differently. If I had, I could be home right now, snuggling Mutt to my hearts content. Sans wouldn't be hurt! I'd love to see Chara laugh like the cutest little thing she is.
Sans' pupils are small as he stares at me. Tears well up in his eyes and he looks away, not being able to say anything with the Queen standing over him.
My cries and screams are muffled as Alphys drags me out of the cell, closing the door behind her.
(~Mutt's POV + Long Time Skip~)
I watch another guard pass down the hall. I wait till he goes into the next room. Silently, I pull Chara behind me as we rush past. Chara is nervous as heck, "You know where the dungeon is?" I answer, "I-I've v-v-visited there."
"Remember Papyrus, we're not here to cause chaos. Keep yourself calm and everything will be ok! We can do this! If we can get to Y/N and Sans while they're setting up for the execution today, we can slip out of the castle without anyone noticing." Chara explains.
I still hate the idea of being peaceful. Who knows what happened to Sans and Y/N while we were sitting at home. I know we needed time to strategize and figure out all the guards' shifts but it's been too long. A lot of things can happen.
'What if they've already been transported to the execution platform? What happens if we run into Queen Toriel? Are we too late? Am I going to be able to keep calm? Can I protect Sans AND Y/N at the same time?!'
"Wait!" Chara suddenly stops, pulling me into a room. She hides behind a large pillar, I stand next to her. I hear two guards round the corner, they walk past the room with no interruption. Chara growls, "Their shift ended 15 minutes ago, what are they still doing here? Joking around.." "I-It's fine, they d-didn't s-see u-us." I look around.
'Judgement Hall...'
That's not convenient at all. Chara notices where we are too, her mood drops, "I'm sorry.. I wish I could be of more help.... I hurt you guys so much." She sniffles, wiping tears away from her eyes.
'Oh boy...'
I bend down, hugging her, "D-D-Don't worry a-about it. H-Honestly, I'm glad y-you're here h-h-helping me. I don't know what t-t-type o-of route t-this is!" I slightly laugh. Chara's eyes go wide, "Oh my god... The barrier!"
'Uh yeah? It still exists.'
She turns, looking down Judgement Hall. She has a determined look, "You need to go." "W-What?! W-Where are you g-going?" I ask her.
'She can't seriously be thinking about going through the barrier by herself and leaving us here.'
"I need to go get the six souls. I'll break the barrier. All you need to do is get Y/N and Sans. We'll meet on the outside!" Chara is sure this is going to work. I tilt my head, "That's n-not how it u-u-usually goes. What a-about Toriel and Asgore-" Chara cuts me off, "Pap, NOTHING about this timeline is going according to plan. Might as well shake things up!" She runs down judgement hall. "B-But w-w-what if it DoESn'T WoRK?!" I scream. "IT WILL!" She answers, speeding out of sight.
'Well... I guess I'm on my own now.. Shortcut route it is-'
I teleport to get to the entrance to the dungeons, farther down in the castle. Two guards are standing there. One shouts, "TRESPASSER!"
'Dang it, should've thought about that.'
They point their spears at me, "Leave now or feel the rath of the Queen!" I chuckle, pulling my hood over my head.
'Chara isn't here. She told me I need to get Sans and Y/N, by any means necessary. We're not here to cause chaos, these are witnesses. I don't want them running off telling the Queen I'm here~'
"Clearly you don't know who I am-" My eye glows as a large blaster appears behind me.
