Dissappointed - Arrested!! pt 2
Age: 16
Word count: 1346
Warnings: Angry Mama Nat, arguing
Summary: Alena got arrested and bailed out. Tension is thick and her parents and her are in desperate need to talk.
,,Look, it was not my fault"
Alena tried defending herself, sitting on the backseat of their family car.
Natasha was up front in the driver's seat and Steve sat next to her, in the passenger seat. The both of them had looks of dissappointment and anger on their faces.
,,Застегни, прямо сейчас, Алейна Любовь (Zip it, right now, Alena Lubov)"
Her mother hissed as she started the car. The venom in her voice made Alena visibly flinch. Nat never talked to her that way, no matter how mad she'd ever been.
If she was honest, she couldn't remember a time she saw both her mother and her father so angry at her.
The 16-year-old chose to listen and obey without a fight for once. She herself knew that what she did wasn't ok, but the jail thing really wasn't her fault.
20 minutes later, the family of three reached their apartment. The tension was thick, but no one spoke a word.
Alena made her way straight to her room, only to be stopped right before she slipped through the door.
,,Э-э-э, кухня, сейчас (Uh-Uh, kitchen, now)"
Natasha ordered, her voice nothing but cold now. It physically hurt not only Alena, but her mother as well.
If she was honest, Nat didn't want to be like that, because she loved her daughter so much and she wasn't even mad because of the jail thing. It was something else that bothered her.
The 16-year-old turned on her heel, slamming the door shut again before aggressively walking over to the kitchen, where she paced in front of the kitchen isle.
Both parents observed their child, Natasha's gaze sterner than that of her husband.
,,Look I'm sorry for getting arrested if that's what you wanna hear, but it was not my fault"
Alena finally came to a halt, staring straight into her Mom's soul. Or at least she tried.
Natasha simply stared back, her lips pressed together and her eyes hiding any sort of indicator on how she felt.
The two redheads remained like that, simply staring each other down, to stubborn to break eye contact.
Steve looked between his two girls, his gaze hardening.
,,Enough. Both of you"
He ordered in a tone Alena never wished to hear. She was so shocked that she broke the staring contest she held with her mother just seconds ago.
Natasha sighed and stemmed her hands onto the kitchen isle, her auburn hair obscuring her face as she looked down, defeated.
,,You know why I'm mad at you? And don't say because you got arrested, because that's not it"
The redhead finally asked, her emerald eyes piercing her daughter's gaze.
Alena shrugged, deciding to hide her guilt with sass:
,,Because that son of a bitch actually shot the ransom?"
Wrong decision. Tasha's gaze hardened further.
,,Can't you be serious for once? You're the reason that person is now in the hospital, if not dead"
Natasha snapped, her brows furrowing in dissappointment. Somehow, she blamed herself for Alena's behaviour.
Had she done something that resulted her beloved child to pick out sass of all things to cope? Was she the reason they had to pick their 16-year-old daughter up from jail? Was she a terrible mother for being so hard on her now?
Alena backed away, her eyes holding confusion.
,,Что? (What?)"
She breathed, visibly hurt by her mother's request. Did she really think this whole situation was a joke to her?
The 16-year-old redhead pursed her lips, biting the inside of her cheek to obscure the fact that she was about to break down sobbing.
,,Do you guys think this is funny to me?"
Alena asked, narrowing her eyes at her mother. Her brain had gone into shut down mode by now. For her, this was either going to end in defeat or victory, preferably the later.
Natasha studied her child, taking in every single one of her movements. It was evident that the 16-year-old was about to blow up.
Unfortunately, Natasha was Alena's mother and with that, just as hot-headed. Even though she rarely showed it, this was one of the situations she failed to remain calm.
,,Well it sure seems like it if you keep on making jokes and try sassing your way out of this. Alena, do you understand this could've taken a completely different turn?"
Tasha inquired, mirroring the expression her daughter pulled on her just moments ago.
Her arms were stemmed into her hips, staring the 16-year-old down with her 'Romanoff glare'.
Ouch, that one hurt. Alena stared at her mother, her eyes flickering hard.
,,I'm not a kid, Mom, I know I fucked up. I know I shouldn't have gotten involved. I apologised"
She snapped, choosing to go into defense.
The 16-year-old redhead took a deep breath to collect her feelings. She felt her voice getting caught in the back of her throat.
,,I am sorry for everything I've done. Sorry for getting you guys into trouble and embarrassing you, sorry for being sassy when I know it's not appropriate and you know what, I'm sorry for being your daughter. All I do is disappoint you-"
Alena began rambling, all the emotions she'd bottled up to this point bubbling over and spilling out.
Her eyes were glassy, her whole body shook and her voice broke in the very last sentence. All she wanted was a hug, to be told she was forgiven or to simply be sent to her room.
She hated crying in front of anyone, but especially her parents. Why? She didn't know.
When Natasha saw her 16-year-old daughter shake with sobs, looking lost and vulnerable, it broke her heart.
She debated with herself if she was going to give in and do what her emotions told her to do, or to rationalise the situation and stay consequent.
In the end, Tasha decided on the former. Seeing her little girl cry so hard was too much.
,,Тсс, все в порядке, детка свет (Shhh, it's alright, baby light)"
The older redhead soothed the younger one, bringing her into a right hug.
If Nat was honest with herself, she knew that her daughter was mature enough to regret the whole situation, without her screaming at her.
Alena held on to her Mom tight, sobbing into her shoulder like a small child. She felt vulnerable, but not ashamed of it.
Steve joined the two redheads he loved most in the hug. He too knew that Alena wouldn't call them from jail ever again, or at least not for being imprisoned.
,,I love you guys"
The 16-year-old admitted, her face buried in her dad's chest.
,,We love you too, little light"
Steve responded, stroking his daughters hair, before planting a kiss to her head.
Natasha cupped the young redhead's face, wiping the tears still streaming down her face.
,,Don't you ever call is from a jail cell ever again, you hear me"
She warned, her emerald eyes locked with Alena's baby blue ones in a stern gaze.
,,Promise"
Alena nodded before hiding her face in her Mom's shoulder once more.
That day, she learned that no matter what, no matter the fight, no matter the circumstances, no matter the time, her patents would always be there for her.
And even when they fought, they would still love her unconditionally.
