Chapter 70: Sisters

•Next Morning, 10 a.m.; Kevin's Household•

~Maddie's POV~

"My bedroom looks exactly the same" I stated bitterly.

"It can't look exactly the same" Lachlan objected.

I was currently facetiming with Lachlan on my phone; both of us lying down in bed.

"Okay, maybe not the exact same but it's pretty spot on" I conceded, rolling over on the bed so that my back was facing towards the open bedroom door.

"Isn't that a good thing? Unless you  hated the way your room looked in Montreal" Lachlan asked, raising a
eyebrow.

"I didn't hate my room. I am just surprised that my mom put so much effort into this visit" I confessed.

"That's because she loves you Mads. If she didn't then you would be sleeping in some lame guest room" Lachlan reminded.

"Yeah, you're right."

"I really should be recording videos right now," Lachlan sighed, running his fingers through his messy quiff,"but I much rather talk to you."

My mouth broke out into a wide smile. "I feel the same way."

Lachlan flashed me a toothy smile in return before changing his position; the back of his head on his pillow while he pointed the camera downwards.

"I'm visiting you soon" Lachlan declared.

"And when's soon?" I questioned.

"I can't tell you yet" he smirked.

"You cheeky aussie. Does Mitch know you're coming to Florida?" I asked.

"Yeah, he knows," Lachlan clarified,"but I told him to keep the date a secret."

"I hate you."

"I love you too" Lachlan laughed.

"I love you too Maddie!" a familiar loud voice mocked in the doorway.

I quickly shifted my body to face the doorway where I saw Kyleigh and Marley standing in their pj's.

"Who was that?" Lachlan asked with a confused expression.

"My nosy annoying sisters" I affirmed, sitting up in bed.

"Correction, nosy annoying sister" Kyleigh added causing Marley to hit her on the shoulder.

"Lachlan? Yeah, I'll call you back later" I announced, looking at my sisters; who still stood in the doorway, with a dirty look.

"Yeah okay. Love you."

"Love you too. Bye" I said before quickly ending the call.

Tossing my phone effortlessly onto my bed, I stood up from the bed and stared sourly at my sisters.

"How long were you guys standing in the doorway?" I inquired forcefully, crossing my arms over my chest.

"Long enough to hear your wedding vows" Marley quipped.

"Leave her alone Marley. It's young love" Kyleigh defended.

My sisters are complete opposites.

Marley is the oldest competitive, outgoing, straight forward and athletic sister.

When we were growing up, she was always sarcastic, giving everyone tough love and making inappropriate jokes at the worst moments.

Kyleigh is the second oldest geeky, smart and shy sister.

Growing up, she was someone everyone could come to for sincere advise, had her nose in a book at all times and was always up to trying new things that were in her comfort zone.

Everyone always tells me they see a little bit of both Marley and Kyleigh in me and it makes sense since they'd been my mentors growing up.

I love my sisters more than anything. Even though they fight a lot, I'm the one person that brings them together.

"Like she would remember what young love is. All her and Ben did was compete against each other" I pointed out.

"I ain't into all that shitty lovey dovey bullshit and neither is Ben" Marley stated.

"What's he like Maddie? Funny? Handsome? Romantic?" Kyleigh gushed, turning the subject back towards me.

"He's very handsome, obsessed with Chipotle and he's really amazing" I described, sitting down on my bed.

"Does he fart a lot?" Marley asked.

Both Kyleigh and I shot her looks of disgust.

"Not everyone is Ben" Kyleigh quipped.

"Shut up Kyleigh. I'm just asking because Mexican food usually contain a lot of beans and beans make your fart often" Marley explained.

"No, he doesn't fart often" I answered, rolling my eyes at her.

Kyleigh came over and had a seat on my bed beside me, grabbing both of my hands excitedly.

"I'm so happy for you little sis" Kyleigh smiled as I stared into her blue-grey eyes identical to mine.

"Is he good in bed?" Marley asked bluntly.

Kyleigh and I snapped our heads towards Marley; both of us taken aback by the question.

"Marley, inappropriate!" Kyleigh scolded.

"I was just asking. From the way you two were talking on the phone I just assumed that you guys are having sex."

"We are not doing anything like that. I can see where Mitch gets his assumptions from" I denied.

"Just making sure my lil sis isn't doing anything she shouldn't be" Marley defended, coming over and having a seat on the bed; opposite to Kyleigh.

"You just wanted to know if he was good so you could have sex with him!" Kyleigh accused, bursting into a fit of laughter.

"I have a boyfriend! Why would I fuck my little sister's boyfriend? We both know that you wanted to fuck him!" Marley retorted.

"I'm engaged to a wonderful man Marley. I have no interest in hooking up with my little sister's boyfriend" Kyleigh avowed.

"Guys! Stop!" I cried, breaking up the argument. "Can we just go downstairs and get breakfast? Please?"

"Sure, I could go for some cereal" Kyleigh agreed, standing up from the bed.

"Like they have any good cereal in this household. Kevin seems like a health freak, Mom doesn't eat cereal and even if Connor was allowed to get cereal, we all know he would get the shitty Cheerios" Marley complained, standing up from the bed as well.

"Well let's go downstairs and see" I suggested, walking out of the bedroom; Marley and Kyleigh following after me.

•After Breakfast•

I was currently helping mom with the dishes after everyone had ate, me rinsing before handing the dish over to mom who put it in the dishwasher.

From the white painted walls, black marble counter tops, white marble floor and the black wood cabinets, I can assume marble, black and white is the theme of the kitchen.

"What's that on your wrist Maddie?" mom asked, pointing to the brown wool braided bracelet that was tied tightly around my wrist.

I touched it and smiled. "It's a matching bracelet that Lachlan gave me."

Mom placed a hand over her heart and gave me a wide smile. "So cute."

"Yeah, he gave it to me on our birthday" I explained.

I handed mom the last plate before she closed up the dishwater; wiping her hands on a nearby wash cloth.

"He's a keeper" mom winked.

"Yep" I agreed.

"I really want to meet him" mom reminded me.

"I want to get everyone together for a dinner" I confessed.

"Kevin would love that. He can make his famous salmon" mom suggested, oblivious to what I was suggesting at.

"Sure he can but what about dad? Can he come? You know, here?" I asked.

My mom fell silent and I let out a sigh.

"I knew it was too much to ask" I snapped, walking away from the sink.

"Mads, wait" mom called.

I stopped in my tracks, turning around to face her.

"Look, I'm trying. I'm trying to include your dad in my life but, I just want to meet Lachlan. I don't think I can handle your father around" my mom confessed.

"It's fine" I breathed in disappointment, giving her a weak smile.

"Maddie" mom called as I turned my back.

"Forget it mom. It's okay. I'll be in my room" I announced before heading out of the kitchen discouraged and betrayed.
