• 2 Days Later •

~ Maddie's POV ~

I sat at the kitchen counter , slowly finishing up some yogurt .

It was 10 in the morning and everyone was gone , as usual .

The whole house was completely quiet when my phone rang with a new message .

I raised a eyebrow , wondering who would be texting this early .

Amanda would be sleeping since her classes don't start till 12 , dad would be at work , mom would be at work as well , Marley and Kyleigh hardly ever text me , Connor doesn't even have a phone and Mitch and Jerome would totally be sleeping .

I grabbed my phone and looked at the text , my heart racing in my chest .

It was Lachlan .

I smiled as I saw what he put as his contact name .

I shut off my phone and decided to go full on YouTube mode , heading up to my room before starting a recording .

• 10 Hours Later •

" Madeline ! Your food is absolutely dead cold , come eat ! Now ! " my mom yelled from downstairs .

I sat up straight and groaned as I realized that I feel asleep on my desktop keyboard .

I rubbed my eyes and stretched before getting up from my spinny chair .

For the last about 10 hours or so , I was editing , recording both vlogs and games and on top of that checking out my Twitter , Twitch , the MineCraft forums , YouTube comments , and my phone .

I am so tried , I don't even feel hungry .

I walked out my room , fixing my hair into a ponytail as I walked straight into the kitchen , heading to the microwave .

" Maddie , you can't just be lying around the house doing nothing ! " my mom cried as she walked through the kitchen doorway .

" I wasn't doing nothing , I was doing my career " I snapped , putting my food to warm for 2 minutes in the microwave .

" Maddie , that doesn't mean you can't do the simplest things around here . Like today I told you to empty the dishwasher and clean the living room but you didn't do that ! And for once in your life , clean your room ! " she complained .

I groaned at her as food was ready .

I took it out as set it on the counter , going over to the fridge to get a drink .

" Mom , being a YouTuber is not as easy as it looks " I said , grabbing some orange juice .

" Oh really , looks to me like you record videos and post them online of which you get money for . Simple as that " she snapped , crossing her arms over her chest .

" You forgot the part where I have to edit then wait for the video to upload and on top of that check all my social media plus make plans for future videos " I pointed out .

" Maddie , you are starting to make me regret you being this YouTuber person ".

" Mom , can we please not talk about this ? I am really tried and I rather not disagree with you right now " I said , looking at her with pleading eyes and she sighed .

" Fine , but can you at least try to help around here ? You have to remember it's just you , me and Connor around here . That's not a lot of help . Everyone needs to do their part to keep this house in one piece ".

I nodded . " Okay , I will try to do work ".

• Few Hours Later •

" And then he texted me at 10 this morning " I said into my phone .

" Oh my , it's like a love story " Amanda gasped , and I could tell she was probably putting her hand on her heart .

Amanda and I were having a late night phone call at 12 and I was just telling her about Lachlan .

I laughed . " It's not a love story , we are just being friendly ".

" Friendly ? The guy asked for your number ! It was 12 PM where he was and he could have been sleeping but instead he decided to text you ! Why ? Because he can't stop thinking about you as much as you are thinking about him ! " Amanda explained and I simply rolled my eyes .

" Amanda , you are over reacting . We are not even close friends . I don't even know if you can even call us friends ! " I protested .

" I'm sorry . I just am so excited that you are finally having a little relationship with someone . It's about time for you to stop being such a loner " she joked .

" Darude much ! " I giggled .

" I think he likes you " Amanda repeated .

" I don't know actually . I don't even think that we could date cause Mitch is one of his best friends . That's like a golden rule , you can't date your brother's best friend " I stated and I could tell she was probably rolling her eyes at me .

" There's no rules when it comes to true love ".

This one I rolled my eyes at her . Typical Amanda .

~ Lachlan's POV ~

As I lie in bed all I could think about is Maddie .

I don't even know why ! Oh who am I kidding , I know exactly why . Because I think I have a little crush on her .

But I can't , she's Mitch's younger sister , that's just not right .

I'm not even a person of romance , I can't even see myself getting any sort of girlfriend but whenever I see Maddie , I have this weird feeling inside .

I can't help myself . Her smile , her laugh , just everything about her just makes me feel ... happy , in a way I have never felt before ...
