• Same Day , 6 p.m. ; Night Club •

~ Maddie's POV ~

Lachlan parked his car on the curb in front of the nightclub .

I could tell I was in for a wild party from the loud music blasting from inside and the line of people waiting outside .

I unbuckled my seat belt and was about to open the door to the car when suddenly , the doors locked .

I looked over to Lachlan ; who's finger was on the ' lock all doors ' button .

" Why did you lock the doors ? " I questioned , raising an eyebrow .

" Why did you want to go clubbing ? " he asked , ignoring my question .

" You didn't answer my question " I snapped .

" You didn't answer mine " Lachlan challenged .

Letting out a sigh , I leaned back in the passenger seat .

Lachlan intertwined his fingers with mine , giving my hand a reassuring squeeze .

" What did your mom say ? " he asked , his face twisted with concern .

" That she felt miserable being a single mom for 4 years and her marrying Kevin is finally making her happy " I explained .

" I can see what she means by that ".

" I do too but I just need to be on my own and figure things out " I sighed .

" Hey , why don't we just push this to a side and go into that club and I'll buy you all the Coke's you can drink " Lachlan suggested .

" I love you " I smiled .

" I love you too Mads " Lachlan replied , giving me a peak on my lips .

Suddenly there was a loud knock on the car's windows causing Lachlan and I to turn our heads where the noise was being heard to see Taylor and Jay standing beside Lachlan's window .

" Quit making out and hurry up ! " Taylor yelled before the two of them turned their back on us and heading towards the line .

Lachlan and I climbed out of the car and gathered with Taylor and Jay .

" Shots on me ? " Taylor suggested .

" Yeah , for sure . Last time I had to pay " Lachlan spoke up .

" Maddie , do you drink ? " Jay asked .

" No " I mumbled , feeling a bit embarrassed .

I'm so lame , the party pooper of the group honestly .

" Well , maybe you can break that rule for just tonight ? " Taylor pleaded .

I let out a nervous laugh . " Last time I did that , it didn't turn out very well ".

I looked over to Lachlan who give me a thin smile .

" Oh , you and Lachlan huh ? " Taylor winked .

" No , it's not that " Lachlan protested .

" Then what is it ? " Taylor pressed , interested to where the conversation was headed .

" Taylor , leave them alone and get out your ID " Jay snapped , pulling out his wallet .

" Don't think this is over " Taylor warned , shaking his index finger at Lachlan and I .

I rolled my eyes at him before fishing my wallet out of my pocket .

The line moved further up until we reached the tall , buff dark skinned bouncer . He looked just as intimidating as the bouncers you see in movies .

" ID's please " he spoke , no Australian accent present .

One by one we handed over our ID's , the bouncer examining them carefully .

" You can go in " the bouncer approved , opening the door and letting us inside .

A wave of hot air hit my face , the feeling just like when you open a hot oven .

The music was the right amount of loud which is very rare . Australians seem to have mercy on party poopers like me .

The club was just like any other club with loud , drunk , slutty and aggressive people . Everywhere .

" Want that Coke right now ? " Lachlan asked in my ear , his hot breath on my skin causing a shiver to travel throughout my body .

I simply nodded .

He informed the others about what we were doing before parting our ways .

Lachlan protectively lead me towards the bar , steering clear of anyone that could cause us trouble .

We both had a seat on the retro style bar chairs as Lachlan called the bartender over ; placing our orders .

" Do you usually drink a lot when you go clubbing ? " I questioned .

Lachlan shrugged . " Depends where I am and who I'm with . Like right now , I ordered a beer because I know you don't drink and watching me drink a heavy beverage would kill you inside ".

I gave him a smile . He's always thinking about me .

" Plus , I doubt you want to taste the vodka I drank when I kiss you " he winked , causing me to slightly blush .

" Here you go " the bartender announced , sliding our drinks in our directions .

Lachlan payed the guy before taking a long sip of his beer .

I twirled my straw in the cold dark brown beverage , watching the small bubbles gather on the straw .

" So , no dancing tonight ? " Lachlan asked .

I gave him a look that told him " really ? ".

" Hey , I was just making sure " he laughed , holding his hands up in surrender .

" You know I don't dance " I stated , taking a sip from my Coke .

" You do . You dance to 5 Seconds Of Summer " Lachlan pointed out .

" Yeah , when I'm alone . Not when there are people watching me ".

" But I'd seen you dancing before " Lachlan pressed .

" Cause you're the Blur . You sneak in and leave without anyone seeing " I teased , causing him to crack a wide smile .

" Just like I'm the king of parkcore ? " he asked , trying to get me to agree .

" Yes , just like how you're the king of parkcore " I repeated .

" Better than Preston ? " he asked again .

" Don't push your luck " I warned , letting out a small chuckle .

Lachlan took another swing at his beer . " What if they played 5 Seconds Of Summer ? Then would you dance ? ".

" Why would they play 5sauce in a nightclub ? " I countered .

" I don't know , " Lachlan paused to think before his blue eyes lit up , " because they are Australian . We Aussies like to honor our legends ".

I rolled my eyes at him . " Yeah right ".

Ignoring my remark , Lachlan pulled out his phone and started texting furiously .

I went back to drinking my Coke in silence , blowing air into the straw to create bubbles .

I'm feel like a kid again blowing into the straw to make the drink fuzz up . My childhood will forever be in my memory ; unlike my childhood , my teenager years are something I wish would be erased from my memory .

My thoughts were interrupted by the familiar combination of drums and guitar .

My eyes lit up . " OMG ! They are playing 5 Seconds Of Summer " I screamed excitedly .

Jumping up from my chair and I raced over to the dance floor of confused parties .

Their face expressions all read the same thing , " why the fuck are they playing this ? ".

I honestly couldn't care less .

I started screaming along to the lyrics while bobbing my head up and down when suddenly , I realized I wasn't the only one .

I stopped for a second to see a girl about my age with straight long red hair singing along crazily standing just inches away from me .

" You're a fan too ? " I yelled over the music .

She stopped singing and looked at me with her wide green eyes .

" Fuck yeah ! OMG , I never thought there would be someone else here who was a fan " the girl cheered excitedly with a cute Aussie accent .

" The fam reunites " I giggled .

" Ashton's my fav , you ? " she asked .

" Mikey " I responded .

" Yass , I love his dyed hair . I try to dye my hair just like his . Red is my favorite color on him " the girl explained , touching to her bright red hair .

" Same here . I'm Madeline by the way " I introduced , extending my hand out for her to shake .

She shook it firmly . " Violet ".

" Such a beautiful name " I gushed .

" Madeline is just as beautiful " Violet complimented .

" Don't have your rent and it's the first of the month " Michael sang causing the both of us to squeal in excitement . 

" I love how many solo's Michael has so far on this album . Sounds Good Feels Good is going to be amazing ! " Violet cried , emphasizing the word ' love '.

The two of us continued singing and dancing along to Hey Everybody , ignoring the looks of disgust sent by others around us .

Once Calum's bass solo was over , so was the song and the DJ went back to playing techno crap .

" Aw , I was having so much fun " Violet frowned .

" Same . Nice meeting you though " I commented , giving her a warm smile .

" Nice meeting you too . Hey , why don't we exchange numbers so we can talk later ? " Violet suggested .

" Yeah , for sure " I agreed , taking out my phone .

The two of us exchanged numbers before saying our goodbyes and going our own separate ways . 

" Your welcome " Lachlan greeted me as I approached the bar .

" For what ? " I asked , confused as I sat back down on the bar stool .

" For getting Jay to request the song for you " Lachlan smirked .

" Aw , you're so sweet " I smiled , giving him a kiss on the cheek .

" See ? You had fun on the dance floor . And you even made a new friend " Lachlan pointed out , gesturing towards Violet on the other side of the room talking to a group of girls .

" Yeah , I guess clubbing isn't as bad as I made it out to be " I shrugged , taking a sip from my Coke .
