~ Maddie's POV ~

" Lachlan ! Follow me ! " I yelled .

My finger tips brushed each dandelion , their weak seeds flowing off into the air .

I grabbed Lachlan's hand , dragging him throughout the huge field towards the giant oak tree up ahead .

The scenery was breathtaking , just Lachlan and I ; away from everyone and everything .

" Mads , wait " Lachlan said , coming to a stop .

I stopped , turning around to face him .

I stared into his blue eyes filled with hope and happiness .

" I love you " he whispered .

" I love you too " I smiled .

I closed my eyes as we leaned in to kiss . Our lips brushed each others before a truck horn was heard in the distance .

I instantly opened my eyes and Lachlan wasn't there anymore .

A rain drop landed on my nose and it started raining hard .

Rain wet my hair and clothing as I frantically looked around my surroundings .

I wasn't in the peaceful , calm field of dandelions anymore but in a crowded New York style street .

Huh ? Was I daydreaming ?

" Lachlan ? " I yelled , looking over the heads of the crowd .

" Maddie ! " a faint voice called .

I whipped my head around to see Lachlan standing near the sidewalk a few meters away from me .

He gave me a toothy smile , waving for me to come over and I started making my way through the crowd towards him .

The rain was blurring out my vision .

Suddenly , there was a truck horn again .

There was no truck in sight but the sound seemed to be near .

I looked around but still couldn't see any trucks .

I wiped the rain out of my eyes , still trying to make my way to the smiling Australian .

The truck horn kept coming closer as I got closer to Lachlan .

What's going on ?

I was just a few inches away from him when the horn became louder , ringing through my ears .

I shut my eyes as the horn rang , making my eardrums feel like they were going to explode .

All of the sudden , the truck horn stopped and I opened my eyes again .

I looked around in confusion and couldn't find Lachlan again .

I looked at the spot he was standing just seconds ago .

My heart stopped , I felt like I had been stabbed a million times in the gut .

Lachlan was lying lump and lifeless on the ground .

The rain fell down harder as I pushed through the crowd towards his body .

Tears were falling freely down my cheeks .

I kneed down next to him , putting his head in my lap .

I stared down at him in horror .

I gripped him by the shoulders , trying to shake him awake .

" Lachlan ! Wake up ! " I cried .

No response . He had no cuts or anything . He looked like he was sleeping .

Maybe he just fainted ?

I checked for a pulse but there was none .

" LACHLAN ! No , no , no . Lachlan ! Wake up . Come back to me ! " I screamed , shaking his body violently .

Tears streamed down my face . I moved a few strands of his wet hair away from his forehead .

" It's going to be okay . I'm calling the ambulance " I said , quickly grabbing my phone from my pocket .

I tried turning on my phone but it wasn't responding . I clicked the on button as hard as I could but it still didn't come on .

I looked around us but people seemed to be carrying on with business as usual .

" Somebody help me ! My boyfriend needs medical attention ! HELP US ! " I yelled over the rain but everyone seemed to just ignore me .

This is hopeless . Why is everyone ignoring me ?

" HELP ME ! PLEASE ! " I yelled , grabbing the leg of a passing person , shaking them violently but they just kept walking .

I looked back at Lachlan who was still not waking up .

I pulled his body to my chest , burying my face in his neck .

" Please , don't leave me . Lachlan , I love you . Wake up " I sobbed .

Still no reply .

He's dead ....

" LACHLAN ! " I yelled , breaking down into sobs .

My eyes shot open . My heart was beating at a rapid pace ; my cheeks damp with tears .

I calmed myself down a little , sitting up ; realizing I was in my bedroom .

Lachlan was breathing quietly beside me , fast asleep ; his arm draped causally around my waist . Not dead .

I breathed a sigh of relief . It was just a nightmare , a horrible horrible nightmare .

Tears slipped down my cheeks before falling onto my shirt .

I have had many nightmares before but this was the first one I have been so upset and shaken by .

I wiped the tears away from my eyes , letting out a sniff .

I don't want to wake Lachlan up just because I had a bad dream . That's a stupid reason to wake someone up .

I quietly slipped out of his gasp , tip toeing out of the bedroom .

What was that dream ? The truck horn ? Lachlan dying ? No one paying attention to us ?

I'm just glad Lachlan's not dead . I don't know what I would do without him .

Tears pricked at my eyes and I let out a collective sigh .

Everything's okay Maddie . Lachlan's not dead . It was a nightmare . Those things never happened .

I walked into the dark empty kitchen , switching on the lights .

The tile floor was cold sending shivers down my spine .

I turned on the kettle and grabbed a mug from the cupboard .

I'll just have a calming glass of tea then try to go to sleep .

I poured the sugar into the mug along with the tea bag , patiently waiting for the water to boil .

That dream really took me off guard . Usually my dreams always make sense . They are almost like a warning .

I froze . If most of my dreams are warnings , what did that one mean ? That Lachlan's going to die ? In a car crash ?

That would explain the truck horn getting louder as I got closer to Lachlan .

" Mads ? " a voice called out from behind me .

I turned around to see a concerned look on Lachlan's face as he walked towards me .

" Hey , you okay ? You're really pale " he asked .

" Yeah , I'm fine " I lied .

He grabbed both of my hands , looking me in the eyes seriously .

" You're shaking . What's up ? " he asked .

I sighed . " I had a nightmare ".

" Was it about the video we posted about our relationship earlier ? " he asked .

I shook my head .

" You wanna talk about it ? " he asked , a worried expression crossing his face .

I looked down . " You died in my dream ".

He moved a strand of my hair behind me ear .

" There was this weird truck horn and we were in this crowded street . I was walking towards you but then the horn got louder and you just dropped dead in front of me " I chocked out .

He pulled me into tight hug .

" I'm not leaving anytime soon . I promise " Lachlan said , rubbing my back gently .

We pulled away just as the kettle stopped .

I went over , pouring the hot water into the mug .

" You think you can go back to sleep ? " Lachlan asked .

" Yeah , I'm okay " I replied .

We walked slowly back upstairs into my bedroom .

I drank the tea before lying down next to Lachlan , him pulling me close so there was no space between us . (A/N : Like the position in the picture in media )

He kissed me on the forehead , my eyes slowly closing .

" Night " I whispered before drifting off to sleep .

A/N : Sorry if this was a boring chapter , next chapter is wayyyy better .
