• Later That Day , 11 p.m. •

~ Maddie's POV ~

I held tight onto Lachlan's sweater and tried to go to sleep but I just couldn't .

Usually Lachlan would be here with me , his arm draped over my waist , resting his head on my neck .

For the last few nights , I slept in Lachlan's sweater , only cause it reminds me of him .

The thing kills me the most is we don't know when we will see each other again .

It's just random and I hate that . It could be months , maybe even a year until I actually get to kiss him or cuddle with him .

I checked my phone for any messages but there were none but from dad asking how I was doing .

I sighed and turned off my phone , fluffed my pillow and closed my eyes , drifting off into a peaceful sleep .

• Next Morning •

" MADDIE ! WAKE UP ! " a voice in the distance yelled as my bed began to shake .

I groaned and slowly opened my eyes to see Connor jumping up and down on my bed .

" Connor ! Do you know what time it is ? " I cried , throwing a pillow at him .

" Yeah , it's 12 " he said , having a seat on the edge of my bed .

I sat up and grabbed my phone from the bedside table and checked the time . 12:43 .

" Why did you wake me up then ? It's way too early ! " I cried , resting my head on the pillow and closing my eyes .

" But remember what you said before you left for Florida ? That when you came back we would play MineCraft for 24 hours ? ".

Shit , I forgot about that promise .

" Connor , I'm only staying here for 3 days and I have plenty of things to do . Maybe next time " I replied , sitting back up and looking at him .

He frowned . " But you promised . I haven't seen you in 3 whole months and now I can't even hang out with my own sister ? Do I need to schedule an appointment ? ".

I sighed . I planned to visit dad today and maybe do a challenge video with him but at the same time I don't want to disappoint Connor .

" Okay , I am leaving at about 5 , so we can play MineCraft until then " I said .

" But you said 24 hours " he pushed .

" Connor , I don't have 24 hours ".

" Can you at least make it a Minecraft episode on your YouTube channel ? " Connor asked .

" Fine , now out of my room and let me get ready " I said , sitting up .

" Technically it's not your bedroom since you officially live in Florida " Connor snapped .

" CONNOR ! GET OUT ! " I yelled at him , pointing towards the door .

" Fine drama queen " he mumbled before heading out and shutting the door behind him .

I rolled my eyes before climbing out of bed and heading towards the bathroom .

• Few Minutes Later •

" Hey guys , it's your friend here , Connor and today we have a special guest , my older sister Maddie , also known as ShortPencilCrayons " Connor said , doing his intro .

Connor had a YouTube channel with about half a hundred thousand subs .

We were in his room recording a video that would be posted on his channel as well as mine . He was on his setup while I was on my Mac book , trying to play Minecraft there .

" Hello " I greeted .

" So we are going to be playing a round of Hunger Games and totally beat Maddie " Connor said as the server started the countdown in the chat .

" Whatever Connor " I said rolling my eyes .

The game started and I ran towards the nearest chest , grabbing a porkchop , a apple , and a leather chest plate .

" I'm going right . This is a old map , I know where all the chests are " Connor smirked .

" Cheater ! No wonder you wanted to pick this one . You know this is a new map to me ! " I cried , running over a bridge .

" Don't worry , we have a alliance , I'm still going to share the loot with you ".

" You got any amour ? I only have a leather chest " I asked .

" No , I only have chain mail boots and a gold chest " Connor replied .

I stopped for a split second to check my inventory and someone hit me from behind .

" Someone's hitting me and I don't even have a weapon " I cried , going into F5 mode and checking the person out .

" Where are you ? " Connor asked .

" Um , near spawn , I'm heading there right now to see if I can get a sword " I replied , making a quick turn and dodging a few trees .

" Okay , I'll come and help ".

I ran around spawn , trying to dodge all of his arrows .

" Okay , bait him around that hill and I will be on the other side ready to attack " Connor explained .

I did as Connor told me and Connor killed him .

" The Bait of 2015 " I said smiling ad I gave Connor a high five .

• Later In The Afternoon , At Dad's House •

I knocked on the door to his house and stood there impatiently .

After about 2 minutes , the door flew open and there stood a woman with short brown hair and grey eyes .

" Um , hello " I greeted , confused to see her standing there .

" Hello " she greeted , looking just as confused as I was .

I backed up and checked the house number .

89 , this is dad's house ... but who is this woman ?

" Lillian , who's at the door ? " my dads voice asked , coming towards the door .

Suddenly my dad stepped at the door and was shocked .

" Maddie ! Sweetie , what are you doing here ? " my dad cried , pulling me into a tight hug .

We pulled away . " Um , I just came to visit for 3 days . 1 day now " I replied .

" Come in ! " He cried , leading me into the house , closing the door behind us .

" Oh , Maddie , this is my girlfriend , Lillian and Lillian this is my daughter Madeline " dad introduced .

Girlfriend ? GIRLFRIEND ?!

" Hello , nice to meet you Madeline . Your dad has told me such amazing things about you " she smiled , holding out her hand for me to shake .

Dad is dating someone ? The fuck ? So first fucking Kevin and now Lillian . What is happening to the world ?

I shook her hand . " Nice to meet you as well ". I gave her a forced smile which hopefully looked real .

" Um , Lillian if you don't mind , I haven't seen my father in such a long period of time , can I please have a quick minute to talk with him ? " I asked .

My feelings , they are all over the place . Anger , confusion , disappointment , sadness ...

" Of course , I have something in the oven . I'll be back " she smiled before racing off towards the kitchen .

Once she was out of the hearing range I turned to dad .

" Girlfriend ? " I hissed harshly .

" Look Maddie , it's time everyone just moved on . Your mom has and I have too . We have been divorced for years now " my dad explained quickly .

" But you never called and told me about this ? I came over here to hang out with my dad and now you have a girlfriend ? ".

" I just thought you would be fine with it . I mean , you were fine with the divorce in the first place " he pointed out .

" I wasn't fine with the divorce dad ! I was quite angry about it ! I just pretended to be happy and cheerful but it really hurt me inside ! Did you think I was okay when you guys told me you were getting a divorce ? When I had to watch you leave ? When we weren't a family anymore ? You two never asked me how I felt about the divorce , never ! And now it's the same crap over again " I yelled , tears forming in my eyes .

He didn't say anything but pulled me into a tight hug .

" I'm sorry I didn't care about your feelings sweetie . I didn't know you felt this way . All this time I thought you were happy " he said , wiping a tear off my cheek .

" I just hate that everyone's moving on . We'll never be a family again " I frowned .

" I'm afraid not honey but at least you told me how you felt and your at peace now . Do you like Lillian ? I really like her " he asked .

I nodded . " She seems nice ".

" Oh , did I cut into a moment ? I just wanted to know if you wanted any chocolate chip cookies , fresh from the oven Madeline " Lillian smiled .

It's like she read my mind ...

" I will have some please " I replied smiling .
