I watched as my sleeping daughter curled into her mate who played with Renesmee's bronze ringlets tenderly. Kaialilia was deep in thought yet she still sensed that it was only Rosalie, Esme, Alice and I home right now. Emmett, Carlisle, Jasper and Edward had gone hunting and to spend some guy time together. Our other friends and the wolf packs were having friendly competitions outside, scattered around so they had enough space.

"He thought he was a monster, he believed for so long that he didn't have a soul, Carlisle saved his life yes but he still feels guilty and upset that he wasn't strong enough to save his mother," The baby goddess murmured and we all knew who she was talking about. "Edward told me about how the newborn vampires you had taken under your guidance had been stolen from you, he said that he's grateful that neither he or his family were stolen from you," I spoke softly yet they all heard me.

"Jane, Alec, Riley, Demetri, Caius, I loved them with everything that made me and I still love them. I saved them from their human lives and I pleaded with Sasha Denali to turn them since they were all on the verge of death. She couldn't find it in her warm heart to deny me, I made their transformations painless, I stayed by their sides as they made the transition from mortal to immortal and when they awoke, I fed them my blood. Even though Osiris stole them from me and gave them as prizes to Aro, my blood runs through their veins which means I blood adopted them and they know who I am," Kaialilia explained.

Rosalie had anger burning in her golden eyes, Esme covered her mouth in shock and sadness as Kaialilia explained how Osiris tossed her into the Underworld for a short time so that he could steal her blood adopted children. Alice was no longer smiling but instead vengeance stormed in her golden eyes, I felt my bloodlust rise as I wanted to make Osiris and Aro suffer for what they did to Kaialilia and the children she still loves. "What colour were their eyes when they were human?" I asked softly, knowing this topic made her emotional but she had us now.

"Jane's eyes were a stormy grey, Alec's were a mint green, Caius had icy blue eyes while Demetri had cinnamon brown eyes, Riley had hazel eyes that changed from green, gold, brown, blue and grey. They pleaded with me to sing them to sleep, I wrote and read stories to them, we hunted down the people that made them suffer and made sure to help others who were also suffering. Since my blood runs through their veins, their eyes will change to their human colours when they see me and if I wanted to, I could control them, even though Osiris cut off our mindlink, we can still feel each other's emotions," The youngest Egyptian goddess wiped away a tear.

Then more tears trailed down her cheeks, Rosalie and Esme embraced her, they knew what it was like to lose a child, biological or adopted, Renesmee was still sleeping and for that I was grateful. If she were awake, she would demand which one of us made her mate cry or she would cry and comfort her mate, both options made my unbeating heart hurt even more.

I couldn't imagine how Kaialilia didn't go insane after all this time without her blood adopted children, when I woke up as a vampire, I was halfway to insanity myself, not knowing if my daughter was alright, if she was alive. My child's mate thanked Rosalie and Esme who gave her sad smiles, then her acidic green eyes focused on my amber gaze, "It became easier after I found, raised and turned Benjamin, I became friends with Eleazar, Carmen, Tanya, Kate and Irina along with Maggie, Siobhan and Liam then I found Zafrina and Senna. Next came Garrett, Alistair, Mary, Randall, Peter, Charlotte, Jasper and Alice, after that I met Edward and his mother, Elizabeth who was a lovely mortal, of course I met Carlisle, Esme, Rose and Emmett. Now I've met you and your darling daughter is my mate, I've met the ancestors of the wolves long ago, I reunited with Benjamin, I've met his mate, Tia and his mother, Kebi," Kaialilia smiled softly and it was a gorgeous sight to witness.

"They called themselves 'Kaia's Fledglings' and they loved that name for themselves, I remember them arguing over who created it first and it came down to a tie between Jane and Caius then Caius let Jane take the credit," My daughter's mate laughed quietly. Rosalie, Esme, Alice and I chuckled lowly, just imagining the now sadistic Jane and Caius acting like children centuries ago was hilarious, "Alec would help Jane win word battles against Caius who either had Demetri or Riley helping him, I was always the 'judge' and it was quite entertaining," Kaialilia let out a sad laugh.

"Maybe we should start doing word battles and you can be the judge!" Alice suggested, we couldn't stand to see Kaialilia upset, she was family to all of us. "That's a great idea, Alice! We could have young vs old, hybrids vs vampires, wolf pack vs wolf pack, women vs men and then mates vs mates!" Esme spoke excitedly, "Will you let my sweet Nesmee join in the word battles?" Kaialilia asked curiously. "Of course, Renny is much more intelligent than others give her credit for, plus it'll be fun to see her outsmart some of the vampires," Rosalie smiled warmly.

"When do you want to start these word battles?" Kaialilia asked, she now held Renesmee who had waken up a few minutes ago and was cuddling into the young goddess. "Everybody, main house, now!" Alice yelled excitedly and instantly, everyone obeyed, not wanting to anger us. It was actually really fun and funny doing word battles.
