Winter's Path
Into the wintery snow I trek,
But what havoc did it wreck?
The pristine white-
Talked all night,
While the cold howled its call-
To the vast, dark sky,
That looked down upon me with a pondering eye,
And the weight of it stood tall,
As it crawled down my back,
I feared whether I could withstand its silent attack,
For each crunching step- and a pause- the weight of it did shake,
And a trail was left in its wake,
But further on, did I roam,
In the unforgiving snow,
Like a lost gnome, searching for an ember to spark and glow.
