Raggedy Dolls
Do I mean everything to you,
Or nothing at all?
If we walk down that forbidden hall,
I wonder what we will find,
Lurking in your mind?
Is it a game?
Love and hate,
Are they the same?
It's dimly lit,
Are we playing hide and seek?
What happens, if you reached me?
Am I running without a heart?
These tears, they won't fall apart,
Footsteps on the ground,
Echoing all around.
How vast is the place, in this space, between you and I?
I'm just a raggedy doll, pulled at the strings.
The stitches fray, but I just look the other way.
Is this how it seems,
In your lucid dreams?
But I can't even let out a scream.
~
Darkness in the walls,
The cold seeps out,
What's behind the doors?
I can't get out.
If I trip- I'll fall,
I would have to crawl,
But I don't know where to stand,
If I reached out-
Would you hold my hand?
~
I can hardly breathe,
But you are the same as me,
Pulled at the strings.
Do I mean everything to you,
Or nothing at all?
If we walked down that forbidden hall,
I wonder what we will find,
Lurking in your mind?
Is it a game-
This hide and seek?
Handprints on the walls,
Are they mine or yours,
If I follow,
Would the lead to an open door?
I'm just a raggedy doll,
Pulled at the strings,
Wonder what happens,
If I cut the seams?
I know it feels bit like a dream,
But would you hear me,
If I scream?
~
You're just like me,
It would seem,
Pulled at the strings,
Raggedy dolls, meant to be played,
Then gone and tossed away.
Did I mean everything to you,
Or nothing at all?
I guess we will never know-
Before our fall
