Author's Not: Y/N is age 8 throughout Book 2..

The helicopter landed and the gladers were all rushed off it and into a building..

                        Thomas's (POV)

As soon as we got into the building a giant metal door closed behind us.. (Y/N) was right next me. I'm glad because I didn't know who these people were or if we were safe.

We get rushed into a room with a big table and lots of food on it.. instantly we start eating.. afterwards we talk a little saying "can't believe we made it out of the maze." And reflecting on the gladers we lost..

Suddenly the door opened revealing a man.. Minho steps by side me "Whose the Ratman."

"I'm not sure." I tell him.

The mystery man then speaks "You kids alright? Sorry for the commotion. It's all taken care now."

"Who are you?" I ask.

"I'm the reason you're still alive. It's my intention to keep it that way. Now come with me. Well get you kids squared away. My name is Janson."

I can feel (Y/N) put her face in my shoulder like she's hiding from Ratman.. I wish I knew why..

Ratman continues talking "I run this place. For us it's a sanctuary, a safe from the horrors of the outside world. You all should think it as a way station. Kind of home between home."

At the mention of Home I'm instantly happy because I promised gladers and (Y/N) that I would get them Home.

"That mean your taking us home?" I ask Ratman.

"A home sorts. Sadly, there  wouldn't be much left of whatever you came from. But we do have a place for you. A refuge from the Scorch and where Wicked will never find you again. How does that sound?"

"Why are you helping us? Newt asked suspicion lacing his voice.

"Let's just say the world out there is in a rather precarious situation.."

"We're all hanging by a very thin thread.
The fact that you kids can survive the virus.. means you are very special some more special and connected them others. Unfortunately it also makes you a target."

Ratman then slides a key card through a slot panel then turning facing the gladers.

"Beyond this door lies the beginning of your new lives. First things first... let's do something about that smell."
