"What did you find, Hyung?" Taehyung looked at Lily sleeping next to him. The little girl was desperate that Mina was gone, despite Taehyung's assurances that she just had to leave for a while and return.
"Did you know Mina was an orphan?" Suga looked at him.
Suga was investigating missing people for a wealthy law firm when he needed to, and he was the only one who could help him find Mina. "She was born and raised in Goyang. Her parents died in a bus crash while returning from Seoul." Suga shook his head.
Taehyung frowned. He had known Mina for so long, but he had never asked her about her past. In fact, he knew nothing about her life before she started working for him, almost a year and a half ago. A pass he would fix as soon as he got her back.
"She was four years old. She was assigned to an orphanage near Ilsan lake park by social services." Suga continued. "In the beginning, everything was fine, but after an accident, Mina was admitted to a psychiatric clinic, where she was treated for several years. Her diagnosis was deep depression." Suga shook her head. "According to the articles, the accident happened when Mina was eleven. She and her friend were playing by the lake. Mina slipped and fell. The other girl tried to help her, but also found herself in the water. "Suga sighed, stretching his neck." They only saved Mina. But since then, she's shut down. According to reports from the clinic, Mina blames herself for what happened, calling herself a murderer. She also attempted suicide at sixteen. " Taehyung blinked in disbelief as Suga told him Mina's story. "She swallowed pills, but the staff found her in time." he finished and leaned back, watching Taehyung.
Taehyung thoughtfully smoothed Lily's hair, which stirred in her sleep. His chest tightened painfully, thinking about everything he had learned. For the past almost six years, he had shied away from life because he thought he was hurt and couldn't trust anyone but his six friends, but at least he had them and Lily. While Mina was alone, living with the thought that she had taken a human life. That's why she was afraid of everyone, because she was afraid it would happen again, at least he would be afraid of it. And he had pressed her, selfishly guided only by his own desires and needs, without asking her how she felt, what she wanted, what she thought. He had taken advantage of her fear, which he mistaken for shyness and anxiety, and had brought her into a relationship that healed only himself, while she struggled with herself and her fears, only to give him pleasure in order to they feel happy with Lily ....
"Taehyung, do you love her? Really?" Suga asked, staring at him. "I think so." Taehyung nodded. "Do you think or are you sure? Because these are two different things, Tae. If you love her, well, I'll help you, but if you think it's not love, then don't expect more from me. She's suffered enough anyway." rubbed Suga.
"I can't do without her, Hyung!" Taehyung must have nodded. "Okay, let's get started then!" Suga rubbed his hands and drummed on the buttons on his laptop as Taehyung bowed his head thoughtfully and stared at Lily. Yes, he loved her, he could no longer imagine life without her, without her smile, without her blush, without her lips and her hugs.He wanted to spend his life with her, with Lily and their children, he wanted to heal her pain, give her strength, share her dreams, and help her achieve them by supporting her in every endeavor.
Two days later - Goyang:
"Please, Miss Lee! I must find her!" Taehyung leaned over the desk, propped his hands up and pleaded with the headmistress of the orphanage where Mina had grown up. "Mr. Kim, I already told you, she's not here!" the woman insisted, shaking her head. "Then at least tell me where I can find her, a place where she hid as a child, where she loved to be alone, whatever it is, everything will be useful?" he leaned back in his chair, hiding his face in his hands.
"Mr. Kim, I really want to help you." she propped her elbows on the edge of her desk, her fingers intertwined. "Mina was a wonderful child, until the accident, and I would be happy if she found happiness, but I have no idea where she might be." she sighed. "The only place I can think of is the lake, but she didn't go there after that unfortunate day." Mrs. Lee bit her lip.
Taehyung took a deep breath and gritted his teeth. Suga had spotted her credit card in the area. She had rented a hotel room, but by the time he got there, she had already left. That was yesterday. He had been around the city most of the day and part of the night, hoping to find her, but he had hit a rock. No one had seen her, not even in the store next to the hotel, and the staff only knew that they had seen her when renting and vacating the room, but she didn't show her nose outside the rest of the time.
"Anyway, thank you, Miss Lee. Please, if she comes, call me." he stood up and handed her his business card. "Definitely. Maybe you should check out the lake, she and Kaya, her friend, loved to go there. Who knows ..." the woman sighed and also stood up to send him away.
Taehyung sat in the car and rested his head. The tears flowed on their own and he didn't stop them.
"Where are you, princess?" he thought, staring at the gloomy sky that reflected his feelings at the moment. The last three days have been exhausting. The case ended in his favor, nothing unexpected, Leah had disappeared again without even looking at Lily, who, in turn, kept asking about Mina and crying almost all the time, falling asleep from exhaustion. Taehyung had left her with Jin and Jungkook, rising that their company would cheer her up a little until he found Mina.
He closed his eyes, listening to the first drops of rain hitting the windows and hood of his car. Would she really go back to the lake after all this time and after everything that had happened there?
He had no choice at the moment, so he took a deep breath and started the engine, determined to use every opportunity, no matter how unlikely she was to help him find her.
