Chapter 16

The Gotham air was cool instead of freezing cold. It was a gentle breeze instead of a biting wind. It was still Gotham of course, with people yelling curses out the windows of their cars and thugs lurking in warehouses, but the night air had a magic to it.

"So what are we doing?" Pixie asked.

"You have never used a grappling hook, correct?" Damian said.

"Of course I have! Every girl born and raised in a tiny suburb nows how to use military grade weaponry!" Damian was almost going to comment on Pixie's sarcasm, but he decided anginst it.

"I assumed Blake would have taught you."

"Blair did her best to keep me out of vigilantism for awhile. Of course now she wants me to get training-"

"Training would be very useful to you. Gorham is a city of monsters, it's better to be prepared-"

"Could we talk about something else, please? Why did you ask if I could use a grappling hook?"

Damian took a utility belt from his jacket and put it over his shoulder.

"I took the liberties of making a domino mask with your glasses's prescription in it." Pixie pushed the black mask over her eyes and Damian did the same. He then shot a grappling hook to the top of the building they were near (an apartment building owned by Wayne Enterprises).

"Hold on to me and don't let go."

"What if I fall? I don't have any kind of ninja experience. I. Will. Die."

Damian stared at Pixie with the upmost serious. "If you fall I will catch you. I would never allow anything to happen to you."

With that, the youngest boy wonder pulled the trigger and the pair of teens went soaring to the top of the building. Pixie shouted with a mixture of fear, pure joy, and adrenaline pumping through her vains.

"That's better than any rollercoaster I've ever been on! You get to that all the time?"

"I switch between grappling hooks and my motercycle."

"That was just so fun! Can we do it again?"

"Pixie, we can do it until we are physically incapable of grappling anymore."

And so they did. (Well, Damian could have kept going but Pixie didn't share his ninja endurance.) Pixie laughed and shouted the whole time. Damian just stared. Her joy from something Damian found so ordinary boggled his mind. He found him smiling just because she was smiling.

Damian wanted to keep Pixie's smile with him forever. It was warm and beatiful. In his eyes, her smile put all the lights of Gotham to shame. That's why, when they sat on the top of the Wayne Enterprise building and Pixie was transfixed by the view of the city, Damian could only look at her.

"Gotham looks so beatiful from up here, but you must get views like this a lot, right?"

"What-oh yes. It is a...nice view."

"Is something on your mind you seem really out of it."

"I'm fine, Pixie?" Her look indicated that he should keep going. "I want to apologize for what happened on Christmas. It was all Blake's fault."

Pixie blushed slightly. "It's fine. Neither of us were really in control of the situation. And there are worst things then the world's most akaward first kiss."

"I know, but I wish that's not how our first kiss turned out," Damian relized his mistake,"I mean the first kiss that you or I had, not the first kiss that we had. It's not like I have thought of us kissing-"

"I know what you mean, there's no need to explain. I should probably get home soon."

"Right. Of course." Damian shot the hooks and in a few short swings they reached Pixie's apartment building.

"Thanks for such a wonderful night, Dami."

"Anytime. I enjoy doing things with you."

"Me too." Pixie and Damian both stood there, as if they were waiting for something to happen.

"Well....good night."

"Good night." Pixie ran up the stairs to her apartment.

Pixie continued to text Blair all the details of her evening.

Blair: AND HE DIDN'T KISS YOU?!

Pixie: No. Stop freaking out. It's my first date.

Blair: DO YOU THINK I CARE?! HE SHOULD HAVE KISSED YOU!!!! HE IS THE SON OF A PLAYBOY GOD DAMN IT!

Pixie: First of all, language. Secondly, Bruce just pretends to be a playboy so it dosn't count.

Blair: WELL HE'S BOTHERS TO JASON AND DICK WHO BOTH CAN'T KEEP IT IN THEIR PANTS.

Pixie: Please stop typing in cap locks.

Blair: NEVER!!!!!

A soft tap on her window made Pixie look up. Robin was crouching her windowsill.

"Damian what are you doing here? My sisters are asleep!"

"I know, but I knew of I didn't do what I'm about to do I would regret it forever."

"What are you-" Damian closed the space between himself and Pixie with a kiss. At first she was shocked beyond belife but she adjusted quickly. The kiss was short and sweet.

"Pixie, I care very much about you. Will you be my girlfriend. I know we just had our first date and that we are relatively young but-"

"Yes. I would love to be your girlfriend."

Damian smiled. A legitimate smile that made him look like a normal teenage boy (or as normal as you can be when you are wearing military grade armor and a cape).

Anna stirred in her sleep.

"I would love for you to stay but my sisters-"

"I understand." Damian gave her a peck on the forhead. "Sweet dreams. I like the poster above your bed."

Pixie freezes as Damian smirked at the her (beloved) Robin poster. Damian did a flip of the balcony and disappointed into the night.

Pixie: Damian and I had our first kiss. He's also my boyfriend now.

Blair: EXPLAIN IMMEDIATELY!!!!

Blair: PIXIE. I MUST KNOW.

Blair: I SWEAR PIX, IF YOU DON'T ANWESER ME.

Blair: THAT'S IT I'M COMING OVER.

Author's Note
*avoids things being thrown/shot at me* Yes, I'm a terrible author and I terrible person. I have reasons for my horrible author-ness but they don't matter. I'm trying to make up for it. Please don't kill me.

This is actually the end of my original plot for the story and now I'm stuck between two differnt options for where to take it. One will kill your feels and the other will torture them. ~Get excited~

Pixie- the worst author ever.
