Chapter 4

I walked into the middle of my room speachless. My roommates were too stunned to even try to speak. They were staring at me with wide eyes and their mouths a gap. We could hear shouting outside our door. I sighed loudly and walked back to the door. I knew full well that Jack would beat Chad to a pulp after what he did. I didn't want my best friend to get suspended by our aunt on the first day.

When the door opened, I saw Jack's fist in the air, ready to come down on Chad's face.

"Hey, asshole." I yelled before Jack could swing. "Let go of pretty boy over there and get in my room, now." I said in a demanding voice.

He looked defeated because I only used that tone of voice on him when I was annoyed. He let go of the death grip he had on Chad's shirt. He was almost in my room, but of course, Chad had to add a stupid remark.

"Pretty boy huh? You're gonna be calling me more names than that soon enough. Like when j get your fine ass in bed." He said with a wink and a smirk.

These words made Jack clench his fists. That small action by Jack put an amused look on Chad's face. I guess he figured out how to get a ride out of jack. This whole thing was a mess. I grabbed Jack's arm before he could do anything, and pushed him in my room. After this, I noticed Chance again. I motioned for him to come into the room as well. He happily walked into the room.

I focused my attention on Chad once again. I noticed Jess had left. It was only me and Chad now. I took a step towards him so we were less than an arms length away.

"Touch my brother again and I'll make your life hell pretty boy." I said before walking back into my room and slamming the door in Chad's face. I could hear some remarks on the other side of the wooden door but I paid no mind to it. I looked up at Jack who was looking at anything but me.

"What were you thinking?" I yelled shoving his chest a little.

"He said something that I didn't like so I socked the jerk." He said shrugging.

I shook my head and turned to Chance.

"Why would you let him do that? You were supposed to be watching him." I asked him, but only got a small shrug in response.

"I mean technically I was watching him, I was just watching him make bad decisions." Chance mumbled which earned a glare from me.

No one said anything for a couple minutes. By that time, I figured Chad had already left the building. I sent Chance and Jack on there way before laying down in my bed with a groan. That got a giggle by Paris.

"You'll get used to those kinds of things."

I gave her a confused look before I dozed off.

The rest of the day went by in a blur. The only information I got was the layout of the building. I didn't have any dreams last night either. I was grateful for it of course.

I pretty much had a free day. I spent sometime in my room before we had to go to breakfast. Paris, Maddi, and I made our way to the dinning hall. I didn't have to wear the uniform I had received so I was happy. Yesterday, my grandma had told me mine and Jack's cars had arrived. This news made my roommates enthusiastic considering neither of them had one.

The dinning hall ended up being a good ten minute walk from the girl's dorm. It wasn't hot so it was pretty good overall.

We had gotten our food and sat down. I was looking for Jack but didn't see him anywhere. While I was looking around, I spotted Chad sitting with a group of guys. How did I not notice them before. There was only one table separating us. They were laughing at something and shoving eachother. I rolled my eyes and looked around, hoping to spot Jack, but sadly there was no sign of him. I shrugged my shoulders and sat down next to Paris.

I had only been eating for five minutes when the doors opened and I saw Jack walk in with Chance and a group of boys. Jack looked around and caught my gaze. He started walking towards me with the group following him. He greeted me and looked around, but his gaze stopped on something behind me. His smile faded and morphed into a frown. I looked behind me and saw Chad and his group looking at Jack and I. He smiled at me when he saw me looking. He whispered something in his friend's ear which earned him a shove and laugh. I rolled my eyes imagining what he probably said. I looked up and down the table.

Jack sat down across from me as Chance took the seat next to me. He introduced me to everyone in the group and we talked for a little bit.

The door soon opened again. I would be lying if I didn't say I took a double take. He was like a god. He was put together well. He had a toned body. He was tall, probably about 6'3". His black hair was partially covered by a beanie. He walked in like a bad ass. People moved out of the way for him. With my great luck, he's probably the king here. Note the sarcasm.

He was about to walk by our table when he finally started to look around. He looked the opposite direction first then turned his gaze the other way. He didn't look at me first but within a few seconds, he was looking at me. He didn't just move on after either. We held eye contact until there were shouts from the table behind us. I rolled my eyes. He's one of them.

I turned my attention back to the table. It was quiet from the other table for a little bit. They were only one table away so I could hear someone ask a question. I couldn't quite hear it, but I soon knew it was about me because I heard some one from that table calling for my attention. It was probably Chad. I decided to just ignore them. He was definitely persistent though. I'll give him that one.

After getting sick of hearing them call my name, I decided to leave and try to find a Starbucks somewhere. They didn't have coffee here and I might as well get used to the town. I excused myself and stood up. I looked back at the Chad's table, taking notice of them since they started shouting. Chad motioned for me to go over there. I just raised an eyebrow before shaking my head. I started walking to the door. I gave one last glance to the table I had just come from and left.

Walking back to the dorm was a little lonely considering I had no one with me. It would've been a fast walk if I hadn't been interupted by Chad and two of his friends. I just wanted to get to my convertible and get some coffee. Even though they were telling me to stop, I kept going. I think eventually Chad got fed up with this because he grabbed my wrist to get me to stop. This shot memories right back at me. I shook off his hand as fast as I could and turned around.

"What the hell do you want." I said as I could feel the tears coming up. I pushed them back as much as I could. I guess those memories got me worse than I thought.

Chad looked a little taken aback by my harsh tone.

"I-I just wanted to talk." He said with a small smile. Not a smirk, but a smile. That kinda surprised me. From what I was told, Chad go to move was a smirk.

"About?" I asked raising my eyebrow.

"I'm sorry about last night." He said looking at his feet.

I was surprised to be completely honest. That was the last thing I expected him to say. I looked behind me. I could see the girl's dorm not too far away. My car was in view and I just wanted a coffee. As much as this would surprise you, I was tempted to tell him to get in my car because I really wanted my coffee.

"Listen, as much as I want to stand here and talk, I need a coffee. If you want, we can talk some of this out later. I can give you my number or something, I just really need to get my coffee." I said with a small smile.

I saw one of his friends nudge him but Chad quickly shook it off and nodded. After taking my number, he started walking back to the building I just left and soon I was walking to my car again.
