Chapter 2

Dedicated to JamiesSky. And friendly_1218. Thanks a lot for your comments on the previous chapter. They seriously mean a lot to me😊.

-----------------------------------------------------------

In 6th standard, for the first time, my class was different from my friends. I'd felt shattered but still knew that there was definitely no choice.

I decided to adjust to the next class and make new friends. But I was an introvert plus a nerd at that time which refrained others from being my friends. Still somehow I managed to be friends with Maya. Maya was short tempered like me, maybe even more than me. Her appearance, well, she was stout yet interested in gossips. She was cheerful, ready to make my day brighter. But I just had one problem in my class, who was the class monitor, Raina. She held a grudge against me for good knows what. But now, I do realise that maybe for the one time she'd asked me as an answer during the exam and I'd refused to cheat.

Whenever she'd get a chance, she always used to complain about me, managing to rile me up.

It was our first period, physical training, that one fine day which was going to turn out to be a disaster later. (Don't miss the MLB reference if you know MLB)

Just as we'd completed our P.T. exam, the teacher instructed Raina, being the monitor, to arrange us to play throwball. I've never been good at sports but still have loved to participate. My mother would always say that, participation is much more important than winning.

I was ready to play that day as well but Raina kept changing my positions in the team continuously. I was already too frustrated when she decided to confront me. Raina came alongwith a few girls and threw various insults at me, making me feel useless in front of all the girls in my class. But that wasn't the only part making me feel hurt but one of the girls accompanying her was Maya. A friend I'd thought would support me but I was wrong.

And during the lunch break after that period, I was on the playground, alone afterall, with a wave of unwanted tears streaming down my face. That was my first betrayal and my trust from the word 'friends' had broken a bit.
