Beep! Beep! Beep! My alarm yells at me at 6:30 a.m. that I need to get up. Actually, I'm really excited. Its my first day of junior year at Konoha high school! I've lived in the same town my whole life. I know everyone and everyone knows me and my little sister Timika. We live by ourselves. Speaking of her, she starts 4th grade today. She isn't the only one that's excited.

"Kikima, come on! I don't want to be late on my first day!" Timika calls from her room as she gets dressed. Not only is today the first school day, its picture day too! I put on my best dressy blouse, a nice pair on black leggings, and my knee high leather boots. I grab my backpack, making sure I have all my school supplies and my schedule. Timika comes out in a below-the-knee blue dress with new white socks on. We sit down so I can help her with her brand new black dress shoes.

"Excited?" I ask, buckling up her shoes. Timika nods eagerly. She grabs her knapsack that was Mom's at one point before she died. I check it, and she has everything she needs. I grab my car keys and we head out the door. Its only 7 in the morning. My Toyota Hybrid beeps a greeting, telling us its unlocked. Timika climbs in the back seat and buckles up, mom's knapsack beside her. I place my backpack in the passenger seat, buckle up, and start the car. With my mirrors adjusted properly, I back out from our drive into the street and head to Konoha Elementary. Timika looks back at our locked up house and waves.

About 7:10, we pull up outside Timika's school. We get out and I walk her to the office. Inside, we are directed to Mr. Ibiki, my old 4th grade teacher. Finding his room is easy. Timika pulls me into the room with a big grin, waving at the teacher. Ibiki smiles at us and greets me. After promising he'll watch out for my sister, I head out to go to my school. 7:25 is a little early for most of my friends and classmates to be at school, so only a handful of people are there. The first bus leaves just as I pull into a parking space. "Kikima! Hey!" a familiar voice calls out. Grabbing my bag, I hop out to see Naruto running toward me. A few others trail him.

After locking my car, we head inside the cafeteria to grab breakfast. Sakura, Kiba, and Tenten sit with us as we talk about our summers. "Well, I got a job and earned some extra cash. And I'm still working at the same place." I smile cheerfully as I eat a spoonful of Applejacks with white milk. "Sounds like a drag," Shikamaru says, placing his bag down and sitting next to me. "When aren't things a drag?" I ask. Shikamaru just shrugs. Sakura looks around the table. "What do you guys have first period?" I pull out my schedule. "I have to help in the office as an aid. My teacher is vice principal Shizune." Sakura glares at me. "Lucky. I have gym first thing in the morning. And I heard Lee does too."

I chuckled. Poor Sakura. Just then vice principal Shizune called over the intercom. "Kikima to the front office. Kikima to the front office please." I stand up, grabbing my backpack. "I also volunteered to show any new students around. Later guys!" I grabbed my trash, threw it away, and headed for the office. Inside were three people I'd never seen around before. Two boys stood beside a girl, holding schedules. Shizune spotted me and I was waved over. "Good to see you again Kikima," Shizune said. "I'd like you to meet our two new students, Kankuro and Gaara No Sabaku. Their older sister graduated last year, and they just moved here about two weeks ago."

I turned to the boys, smiling. "It's nice to meet you. My name is Kikima. I'll be showing you around our school." The taller of the two boys stepped forward. He had brown hair and purple markings on his face. The boy outstretched his hand to me. "Kankuro." I shook his hand. Then I turned to the smaller, red haired male. "And you must be Gaara?" Kankuro and the girl grew stiff, looking at Gaara and back to me. Gaara cast a glance in my direction before giving a small nod. I smiled at him. "Alright, best to show them around now before the halls get to crowded." Shizune said, shooing us out of the office.

The girl turned to me. "I'm Temari, their older sister. I have a job to get to, so please help them as best you can." She leaned close to my ear. "Especially Gaara." Temari then turned and left. I started by showing them the cafeteria. "This is where most people hang out in the morning and during lunch." I then showed them the classes downstairs. "Most freshman and sophomores have all their classes down here. Juniors and seniors have classes upstairs." Kankuro let out a low whistle. "Good thing I'm a senior then." I look over my shoulder at Gaara. "What about you Gaara?" He just looked straight ahead. "Sophomore," he muttered.

I then showed them their lockers and taught them how to open them. There was only about a half hour left before school started, so Kankuro left to go to his first class. Gaara had mostly junior classes on his schedule. I asked him why that was. "I'm smarter than most kids in my grade," he said, then glared daggers at me. "Not like you'd care." I glanced at his schedule. He had Chemistry first period. I gave him back his schedule and pointed him to the Science room. Then I went to the office to help vice principal Shizune start early. Principal Tsunade came out to get some coffee a few times before the warning bell rang at 8:25. School was about to start.
