Chapter 24: This is no longer a simple mission
Jin's POV
After Yuuki and I had our little talk, we both went back to the room. Yuuki went to the kitchen, and began cooking something. I don't know what it is, but it smells delicious. I went into the bathroom, and changed.
Once I was done, I brushed my teeth, and quickly rinsed my hair.
Yuuki's team must've gotten up by now. I heard a knock from the door.
"Hello?" It was Kara. "I'll be right out." I replied. I looked into the mirror. My eyes..... Why are they different colours? My right pupil is black with a white dot, and my left pupil is white with a black dot. And the weird thing is, the rest of the eye is black as well!
Oh, well.... I can't do anything about it.
I tied my headband around my forehead, and opened the door.
"Good morning, Jin-senpai!" Kara greeted, smiling. I ruffled her hair a bit, and said "Good morning, Kara." She fixed her hair, and went into the bathroom. I smiled, and thought 'Reminds me of Sakura.' I then fixed my bed, and Yuuki's as well. I even fixed Kara's bed! Anyways, I sat near the window, and looked outside.
This place....
*Flashback*
"Dad? When I'm older, I wanna be the greatest ninja ever!" I said, giving my dad a smile.
"I'm sure you will son. And remember, their will be other ninja, too! So you have to train hard and long. All right?"
"Yeah! I promise!"
*End of Flashback*
I smiled, remembering how proud my mother and father were, when I received my headband. My proof that I was a true ninja. Yuuki must've fed her team by now. I went in, and said "Good morning!"
"Why are you so skippy?" Yuuki asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Imagine you were me, and had to deal with a mad you." I winked. "And lived to tell the tale."
Yuuki just rolled her eyes
"Don't count yourself so lucky next time buddy. You should have seen what she did to me." Saphira jumped through the window.
Yuuki glared at her, and said "I will repeat what I did, unless you give me an exceptional reason in the next 30 seconds."
"Oh, come on! I'm your best friend! Isn't that a good enough excuse?" Saphira whined.
"25... 24... 23..." Yuuki counted.
"Okay, okay." She gave up. "I was sent here to keep an eye on both of you. Or else Tsunade threatened to beat me up."
Damn it, Tsunade! I'm gonna strangle her when I get back.
"Oh, and Neji and Shikamaru are here too." She added.
"So I noticed. So is this our huge team?" Yuuki waved out to the window, where the guys hid.
"This is little more serious than just a mission, Uchiha." Saphira stated, sounding professional. Uh oh. I didn't like where this was going...
"So? We've now got two ANBU, two Jounin, a Chunin, and three genin. Way more than necessary. So, what's up?"
Saphire and I glanced at each other. "You tell her!" And we ran out of the room.
Once we stopped Saphira yelled "Jin, you should have told her!"
"Hey, you've seen a mad Yuuki! Would you have told her?" I defended.
She paused. "Alright, I wouldn't."
I shivered. "Man, it gave me the creeps."
"You didn't even cope it that bad, you lucky b*****d." She said, jealously. "I got so many g**damn bones it took me weeks to heal."
I winced. "What did you do?"
"It was a stupid move on my behalf, and I will always regret it. We got into a fight when we were seventeen, and I mentioned her family. As you can guess, it didn't end well."
She told her story, and finished by saying:
"When she was through with me, it was only because someone had pulled her off, Juro, from the looks of things. I didn't feel anything. My face, my back, my legs, my arms. Nothing. He called for help, and doctors were amazed that I was still alive."
"I knew then never to insult her like that again. It took a year to fully recover and get out of the hospital. In all that time, Yuuki only visited once. And that was when I was unconscious. I went to her house two months after, but she's never ever trusted me in the same way again."
My eyes were wide. "What you said to her back then was low."
"I know. And like I said, I have, and always will, regret it."
I looked to the ground. "Yuuki admitted something to me yesterday."
"What was it?"
"That she wished that she'd never been born into the Uchiha clan, because than she could've been normal."
She smiled sadly. "You're such an idiot, Yuuki."
She looked towards the sky, and sighed.
I walked up to her, and patted her back. "At least you're still alive."
She smiled at me. "Yeah."
"Alright. Let's get-"
"Wait!" She interrupted.
"What?" I asked.
"When did you and Yuuki first meet? I'm a little curious."
"We met three years ago. When I first moved here. I was in pretty bad shape. A broken rib, a dislocated arm, and a skull fracture. When Taunade became Hokage, she gave me a house. I bumped into Yuuki, when she was doing some shopping." I chuckled.
"And then, it happened."
"What?" I continued. "A mission went bad, and I was captured, by the Akatsuki. They kept me for 3 years, as a punching bag. You think that your wounds were bad?My bones were broken each day. and the next day was worse. Imagine being kept in an old cell. With no food, no water, just pure chakra. That's what kept me alive. The only person who took care of me was a woman named Konan."
"After they released me, they assigned Yuuki as my escort. She took me to the Hidden Leaf Village. And I've been grateful to her ever since."
"That must've been horrible."
"I still have nightmares of those events. But, enough of that. Let's get back."
~
After Saphira and I got back, Yuuki had assigned each of us partners. I was partnered up with Roli.
"All right. Let's go, Roli. We'll take the streets and alleys." I said.
"Understood." Roil replied.
~
So far, we've only been searching for this... Bunbun guy, for 10 minutes, and there hasn't been a sign of him yet.
I then noticed a chakra signature above us. "Jump back!!" I shouted, pushing Roli back.
"Oof!" He grunted.
A kunai managed to lodge itself into my right shoulder. "Agh!" I pulled it out, and examined it.
"What the?" The blade was covered in a dark yellow substance.
"That kunai..." A female voice echoed.
"...is covered in a flesh eating poison.
It will not kill you immediately, but over time, you'll suffer. Heh.
Not even a man like you can regenerate fast enough to survive." A woman in a black cloak jumped off a nearby building, and landed gracefully onto the ground.
Wait......that chakra signature..... No!
"Jun?" I asked, stepping forward.
"Jun Senju? Big sister?"
"....." She remained silent.
"Roli! Go back to Yuuki, now!" I ordered.
"But, Jin-senpai..."
"Now." I snarled. He nodded, and left. I turned to face Jun. "I can't believe you're still alive. After all these years."
"... I've been busy." She replied.
"Doing what? Being Danzo's lapdog?" I scoffed.
"..." She then drew a katana, which was red, and shone brightly.
"The Blood Blade." I thought. I drew my own, and said "Let's see how the Masamune fairs against the Blood Blade!" I dashed toward her, and slashed downwards.
She dodged to the side, and kicked my face. "Argh!" I rolled backwards, and slid a little. "Damn... That kick almost knocked me out." I muttered.
She teleported, and slashed sideways. I leaned back just in time. She cut my chin hairs. I rubbed my chin, and felt a trinkle of blood running down.
"Your fighting style....has changed." Jun said. "I guess I'll have to remove my cloak..." She unbuttoned it, and threw it off. Her long brown hair flowed in the wind, and her blue eyes sparkled. The scar father gave her remained. It ran from the left of her forehead, down to her right cheek. She also wore a black leather suit, which covered everything. She smiled, and said "One last battle, little brother."
I took my stance, and said "Bring it."
