Introduction
It was April 7th when, in my blog, someone asked me if I was taking part in A to Z challenge. I was like, A to Z challenge? Whatever on earth is that? And before the same person replied, of course, I turned to the Almighty Oracle, also known as Google, for enlightenment.
I found this:
Can you post every day except Sundays during this month? And to up the bar, can you blog thematically from A to Z?
Most of the time if you subtract Sundays from April, you then have 26 days–one day for each letter of the alphabet. When April 1st lands on a Sunday you begin on that day which will be the only Sunday you would post during that month's challenge.
Using this premise, you would start beginning April First with a topic themed on something with the letter A, then on April second another topic with the letter B as the theme, and so on until you finish on April thirtieth with the theme based on the letter Z. It doesn't even have to be a word–it can be a proper noun, the letter used as a symbol, or the letter itself. The theme of the day is the letter scheduled for that day.
As you can imagine, I wanted to try it right away. Pieces A and B were written in the same day. That's how I started this challenge.
I can't remember if it was the same day, or maybe the next, when, chatting with a few friends, I thought it would be awesome to write a story made of the twenty-six parts, and later compile them into an eBook. (Yup, you guessed right, it's this book!) And that's where the general plan behind this genius (?) began.
I got a lot of encouragement from my friends (who loyally read every piece, making sure I carried on with the plan and the dream to turn this into the book you're now reading), and also from people who happened upon my blog, who read my story and not even once told me to try carpentry instead of writing.
I probably said too much already, so I better leave you to the story. Ihope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
