1) Yes I'm working on the next chapter. I've just been really busy. Also I've been trying to update 3 different stories at once.

2) This type of chapter will probably be a one time thing. I don't think it's very good but I hope it's at least decent. I don't really like making one shots because I developing character (or at least, attempting to). This isn't cannon (since it's an x reader) so anyone who dies in this chapter isn't really dead.

Satsuki Nakao...

People usually describe her as a pretty, smart, kind, trustworthy girl.

Satsuki is extremely smart and talented at pretty much everything she does. She's even modest about it.

Why am I talking about Satsuki? Because I ended up as her partner on an assignment.

I have no idea how this happened considering that Sensei usually partners up Satsuki with Ayano or Shizu. Somehow I was chosen to be Satsuki's partner.

Right now I'm waiting for Satsuki to finish helping the teacher's. I stood in the empty halls near class 2-1.

Suddenly I felt someone bump into me. I looked over the side and saw Toshiaki Seigi from 2-2, my secret crush, his face was deeply starring into his journal.

Toshiaki adjusted his glasses and looked up from his journal. His green eyes starred at my (e/c) eyes.

"(L/N)-san, what are you still doing here?" Toshiaki asked.

"I was waiting for Nakao-san to finish helping Sensei since we're partners in an assignment." I said.

"You should be careful around Nakao-san, (L/N)-san." Toshiaki said.

"Be careful around Nakao-san?" I said confused. "Why?"

"I don't want to jump to conclusions, but the other day I saw her st-" Toshiaki said before being interrupted by the classroom door opening.

"I finished my work, sorry to keep you waiting (L/N)-san." Satsuki said before noticing Toshiaki. "Oh Seigi-san, what are doing here?"

"Investigating." Toshiaki said.

"Something happened?" Satsuki said.

"Not for a while but I have a feeling something will soon." Toshiaki said with his guard up for some reason.

"I see." Satsuki said as she grabbed my hand. "We should get going now (L/N)-san, see you tomorrow Seigi-san."

And with that, Satsuki and I left to work on our assignment.

But I still wonder, what Toshiaki was trying to say earlier?

(The next day)

I was running to school today.

Why? Because I woke up late and now I only have a few minutes to get to class on time.

As I was running, I noticed a lot of police cars parked outside of the school. The only time that happens is when there's been a murder.

Who's been murdered this time and why? I know Toshiaki said that he had a feeling that someone would get murdered soon but I didn't think it would happen so fast.

I ran over to the crime scene to get a better look, but someone grabbed my hand. I turned around and saw Satsuki with a pained look on her face.

"Nakao-san? What's wrong?" I asked.

"Don't go over there..." Satsuki said with a sad tone.

"...Because then you'll see...him..."

"Why? Is there something wrong?" I said.

"You won't like it..." Satsuki said.

"...You'll fall apart if you see him..."

"Well if it's a dead body, of course I won't like it." I said.

"But the victim is..." Satsuki said before stopping.

"I just want to protect you... Like a knight protecting the princes..."

"The victim is who?" I asked.

Satsuki stayed silent. Her face showed guilt, pain, and sadness.

"It's... Someone... You know..." Satsuki said.

Someone I know? Was that why she didn't want me to see the crime scene?

"I'd like to see the crime scene." I said.

"I don't want you to see the crime scene." Satsuki said, tightening her grip on my hand.

"Don't go..."

"Nakao-san, are you alright? You're usually more calm." I asked.

Without saying a word, Satsuki pulled me into a hug. For some reason, her action made me blush.

"I'll admit...I was jealous..." Satsuki said.

Satsuki was jealous?

"I could tell that you liked Seigi-san..." Satsuki said. "...But please know that I never do anything to hurt you."

"Satsuki..." I said quietly and hugged her back.

Perhaps, maybe a small part of me liked Satsuki as well.

(A few months later)

The victim was Toshiaki.

The killer was an upper classmen.

I now see why Satsuki was so insistent on me not seeing the crime scene. I ended crying for a long time.

Speaking of Satsuki, I've gotten closer to her. We hang out with each other a lot and it makes me happy to learn about Satsuki personally rather than just listening to the rumors about her (though the rumors about her are usually positive).

I think that I've started to develop feelings for her at some point. She can overprotective sometimes but she's always nice to me.

Which is why, when she confessed her love to me, I accepted.

"(Y/N)-san, I have a confession to make." Satsuki said, slightly blushing. "I'm sure that you have figured it out by now but, I love you! Will you be my girlfriend?"

I smiled at her. "Of course I'll be you're girlfriend Satsuki-chan! I love you too!" I said.

Satsuki hugged me protectively as I lean towards her face and softly kissed her on the lips. Eventually Satsuki kissed me back.

"I finished helping the teachers. Are you ready to go (Y/N)-chan?" Satsuki asked.

"Yeah, let's go Satsuki-chan." I said as grabbed her hand and left the school.

???'s POV:

Satsuki Nakao...

...Honestly didn't care that Toshiaki Seigi was murdered...

...But what she said about not wanting to do anything that would hurt (Y/N) (L/N) was true...

...Though Satsuki do whatever it takes to protect her...

...Especially now that her precious princess is in her arms...
